The location of the home is awesome. Our family had a great time fishing and kayaking on the lake. The house is in serious need of care and attention.

Fine for a few nights

We enjoyed our time at Madison Lake. The house was not exactly what we expected but it was fine for a few nights.Pros: well stocked kitchen, large washer & dryer, directly above the lake, nice outdoor space.Cons:

Weekend Get Away

We enjoyed the big kitchen dining area for our group to eat together. Place is clean with nice area to relax and enjoy the family. Host was quick to answer questions and very helpful. We plan to stay again.

Vacation

We had a family gathering across from your rental, so this location was perfect! We relaxed, fished, had a fire and just enjoyed ourselves!! We will differently us this house again i am sure!!

Relaxing and Enjoyable

This cabin is a great spot to have a fun family vacation. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying ourselves. All we had to bring is our clothes, swimsuits, food, and beverage. It has everything you need - it also has options for food delivery if you don't feel like cooking!! The family time we spent here will be everlasting memories. We will definitely go back next year.

The property generally met expectations. There was plenty of parking. It’s in a quiet family neighborhood. Views of the lake were great. The stairs from the house to the lake/beach are very steep. We did not venture down to the dock. Might be a challenge for older folks or young kids. Housekeeping could be a bit more attentive. Arrived to an empty roll of toilet paper in the primary bath. How do you not notice that if you are actually cleaning the bathroom? Specific instructions were provided regarding cleaning the grill, which quite obviously haven’t been followed in a very long time and housekeeping has not picked up the slack. The grill was too disgusting to cook on. We pan fried the steaks we brought. Exit to the lake side from the living/family room was blocked both inside and outside by furniture. We used the access through the primary bedroom which was not an huge deal but a bit odd. All that said, we did enjoy a nice fire in the fire ring and had plenty of room inside to sit and talk and dine.

Highly recommend this beautiful property!

We had the best stay at Madison Lake! We initially selected it because of its location near Mankato State. We were so pleased with this property. It was located right on the lake with a beautiful deck to enjoy the view. The house was comfy, clean and just perfect for a family gathering. The number of beds was great for our mini family reunion. We will plan a return trip. Thank you, Heather, for making this easy and for making your home available!

Family Weekend

Our annual gathering of the "girls", which included my elderly 89 years young aunt! The property was beautiful, the view of the lake from the back porch was stunning! We spent our Saturday at the Oktoberfest in New Ulm and then spent several quiet hours enjoying wine at the Morgan Creek Vineyard. We made meals at the house and spent quality time catching up with family. I loved the area, such beautiful fall foliage! Our last day there we had snow! So beautiful! I would highly recommend this home as just a nice getaway from it all!

Great family weekend!

This property was a great spot to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. Heather responded quickly to my inquiry and was very easy to work with. The house comfortably accommodated 11 adults for meals and 6 for sleeping. While we did not use the beach/lake (still too cold), our group had fun playing basketball (bring your own), relaxing on the spacious front porch and playing games at the large dining room table. The kitchen is well-equipped, although I would have liked a large non-stick skillet, and the house also has a large grill. It seems that the linens (bedding, towels, shower curtains and most draperies) have been recently updated and everyone commented that the beds are super comfy. While I do agree with another reviewer's comments about the stains in the carpets, it does seem as though the carpets have been cleaned, but light stains still exist. A couple additional items of note . . . The bunk beds are comfortable but have attached ladders. As our group ranged in age from 22 - 76, this might have proven to be a challenge for some, but we were able to juggle sleeping arrangements to make it work. Also, the stairs down to the beach are very steep. Overall, this is a great home for a family or friends getaway.

Expensive for what it is

Feeling tension here between being negative and being honest: Cabin was immaculately clean, and kitchen well-equipped, but cabin was more outdated than one might expect for the price: broken window, stained carpet, worn sheets that wouldn't stay on the bed, rickety bannister down to the water, wobbly dock. Needs some TLC.

We have found what we've been looking for!

My family and I had a great stay at the cabin. We enjoyed the beach and fishing off the dock. The Kitchen was equipped with everything to make cooking easy for my big family. It was nice to have the lines provided so I didn't have to pack so much. Heather was great to work with and helped us with anything we needed! Very Clean!!!!

A great family house on the lake

We had a wonderful experience here. The lake is busy and fun and the house was perfect for two families. Plenty of beds and space. We loved the deck and firepit and spent most of our time on the beach and in the lake. Great fishing and boating.

Room for the whole family and incredible owners that respond lightening fast.

Clean, plenty of space and well equipped. Great place on a quiet lake with everything. BBQ, patio, firepit, boat dock, etc.

Fun & Convenient

We hosted a girls weekend at the cabin, and it was only 1.5 hours south of twin cities, with no traffic! The cabin was clean and roomie for the 8 ppl.! Great place to gather and make memories. It had everything you needed for a long weekend with amenities and if you don't feel like cooking you can order in! We plan to get another date on the calendar for next year and have some more relaxing "girl time".

Family Fun

Southern Minnesota getaway with plenty of space, very good kitchen features, front and back deck with fire pit. Nice sandy beach down quite a few steps from cabin level. Overall well kept cabin/house type of property. Good fortune fishing - walleye, bass, northern, crappie, bluegills worth a couple of nice fish fries. Several couches and space for family activity inside if its raining. Good boat launch just down the road around the corner - convenient. Very positive interaction with family owners.

We are Heather and Lucas Bunde both born and raised in southern MN and have enjoyed all of our seasons on the lake and share that love with our children! We have 4 kids! With full hearts and full hands we are realistic about the time we will get to spend at our cabin until our children are older. Since COVID we have been able to spend sometime at our cabin and not rent it. Now with kid's activities back in full swing we are renting again. We hope that you will be able to enjoy our beautiful cabin with family and friends.

We purchased this property because of the wonderful sand beach; great for the kids to play on all day long. We enjoy the large deck to drink our morning coffee and the shaded space to eat lunch and cool off all while enjoying the stunning lake view. We love the master bedroom with a bathroom connected and enough space for the kids to sleep and play.
