Make the lake your living room! Open your door to a grand style deck right above the water and walk down to a patio, dock and a lakeside
step in. Swim, boat, fish or sunbath! Sunsets delivered to your door nightly! Deck has ample seating and a grill. Non-shedding dog friendtly for additional fee, ask for details.
Cozy up in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath guest house complete with all amenities including linens, towels, soap,irons. Fully appointed kitchen and laundry area. One king bed in the master suite with private bath and large flat screen tv. The other side of the house has a queen bedroom and another bedroom with 2 twins that share a bath. Large open kitchen, dining and living room under a vaulted ceiling. Wifi, cable and air conditioning.
Nearby is Long Point State Park with an ideal boat launch, modern playground, beach and hiking trails! The quiet road is great for biking and walking! Very close to Long Point Winery, Aurora Brewery just up the hill, not far to Bright Leaf vineyard and King Ferry winery and just a 3 minute drive to the heart of the Village of Aurora -
shopping, dining and golf. Four kayaks are free for your use. Rent a boat and have it delivered to the dock or bring your own and get a slip nearby. Come for a memorable and enjoyable vacation! Private • Peaceful • Perfect! (If paying with credit card, a 5% surcharge will be added)

Highly recommend!! House is clean and cozy. Comfortable beds and nice bedding. The owners have thought of everything you will need during your stay. The lake was wonderful to swim and kayak in. Beautiful location and wonderful host. I plan to return!!

Lake House

Jacki is great, responsive to all needs. Her home is lovely, well appointed and amazing water views and sunset views. So spacious too! Perfect stay!

Great house at a great location!

This was a really great house, we had such a great time on the lake, and the location was perfect for our event in Ithaca! Jacci & Virgil were extremely helpful, and we had a fantastic weekend. We will definitely try to stay here again!!

Great Getaway at Cayuga Lake!

My family and I rented this property for a week's vacation and could not have been happier. It was perfect for our family of four and there were a lot of amenities, e.g. fire pit, kayaks, grill, etc. The communication with Jacci (owner) was excellent and plenty to do in the area. If we decide to ever go back to the area, we'd definitely stay here again.

Great Lakehouse with a special deck

We had a wonderful time staying at the lakehouse. Jacci set things up perfectly for our visit. We all were wishing we had a few more days to enjoy the lake and house at the end of the trip!

This was an all around lovely experience. The property was charming, clean, and a comfortable place to relax and take in the views. The deck was fantastic, with plenty of distinct spaces and a nice grill. It was probably the most well-stocked rental that we have experienced. We appreciated the communication from the hosts. The location was quiet but close to lots of amenities. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we hope to come back again

Great house for two families (6 of us). Owners were very organized and responsive. The deck was a great space to hang out, play games, enjoy meals and watch amazing sunsets. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes and pots/pans. We definitely recommend this rental. In our opinion, water access for swimming could be improved. This house is a beautiful spot to enjoy Cayuga Lake.

Amazing deck!

Jacci and Virgil are the best property managers we’ve ever enjoyed in our extensive VRBO experience. The location on the lake could not have been more beautiful and convenient to the idyllic town of Aurora. The deck and amenities were over the top amazing to use. In short, a great place to stay!

Nice Week

Lovely week on the finger lakes.Lots to do even with mediocre weather.House was great,kids really enjoyed kayaks and floats provided,and fires ring with s'mores at nite were big hit. House was very clean and host was always available. would definitely consider renting again.

Great views, super location, excellent amenities

We really enjoyed our two-week stay at the lake on heck-of-a-deck. The house comes equipped with everything you may possibly need (kayaks, grill, full kitchen, oodles of chairs), and the owners are thoughtful and meticulous about every detail. Jacci had lots of great recommendations for the area and was very communicative. Would recommend for a relaxing family and friends trip!

Lovely house and deck!

I had a great few days with some friends and our dogs. You can’t beat lakefront sunsets with that deck, which even had a special gate so that we could sit outside with the dogs and not worry about them wandering. The house was well stocked (kitchen and bathroom essentials) and very comfortable.

A great week at a great place!

From the booking process, thru our departure, we had an incredible stay. Jacqui and Virgil were wonderful. The home was so welcoming and felt so homey! We truly appreciated all the effort made with food items in the fridge, coffee to brew, snacks to share, concern over our boat during a storm, checking in, but not bothering, a warm atmosphere and a beautiful setting. We highly recommend this lovely home on the lake!

Heck of Dream

We loved this property. Truly. Charming interior with all of the comforts of home. The house is very well equipped. The deck and view are unbelievable! The house has kayaks and a fantastic fire pit. We loved every minute of our stay!

Wonderful Vacation!

I can not say enough about the quality of our stay at “Heck of a Deck”. The house was clean, well stocked and Jacci and Virgil was amazing! Communication was excellent. Jacci was very informative and helpful. The house is not near the waterfalls and gorges of Ithaca, but we knew that going in. Overall, we highly recommend this property and the owners!

Perfect Long Weekend on the Lake

We had a group of six staying here over the Fourth of July holiday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Heck of a Deck was exactly the peaceful and chill vibes we were looking for. The house was equipped with everything we needed, and the views are absolutely stunning. We spent nearly all of our time on the deck but also enjoyed the local winery and shops. Jacci gave us a wonderful overview at check-in and made sure we were comfortable. Very clean, thoughtful stay, and AC worked really well as it was hot, humid weather. We will definitely be back!

Family Vacay

Our family of five adults had a fantastic time at this property. The location was superb. The house is cute and cozy. I was surprised by the sound of the lake lapping against the shore, which was soothing. The owners were fantastic and greatly responsive. The house was stocked above and beyond what we needed. If I had to give one negative comment, it would be that my daughter-in-law complained of the queen bed being a bit hard. Otherwise we had a fantastic experience!

Everything is great with our stay

Jacci is very thorough during the entire rental process. We have initially booked 2 nights in August, but realized we want to add another day later on. It took Jacci one day to add it on. She was there to greet us at check in. She had everything prepared for us, even some groceries in the fridge. So thoughtful. The deck is wonderful as described. We also enjoyed the morning run in the state park nearby. The commute to Cornell was smooth everyday. We had great family time during our stay. We highly recommend this place.

a wonderful week-long family vacation

Of course, the deck is the undisputed star of this wonderful property! We could not have spent our first post-Covid three generation family vacation in a better place. The house is thoughtfully appointed and stocked. There is everything you will need and more...Jacci and Virgil are the most wonderful hosts who truly care about well-being of their guests and respond to every request. And one can never forget the most amazing sunsets!

Beautiful outside living space a few flaws inside

We had a lovely week with family on the lake. I cannot say enough about the deck with the most amazing view. Jacci was wonderful to work with. She was extremely prompt in communication and dealing with issues. We unfortunately experienced a major problem during our stay. There is no place to store food, so we placed it in boxes on the floor of the kitchen. Our first morning there, we found that mice had gotten into our food. After contacting Jacci, they quickly set traps. We caught two mice in the house. Jacci was very apologetic and compensated us accordingly. We were extremely disgusted by the mice, but decided to stay and make the best of the time. They left us a lovely welcome array of food. We really appreciate that, but the s’more fixings were sealed in an airtight container, but we noticed a mouse had previously bitten through the chocolate and the marshmallows. Again, the outside living space is lovely, and we really appreciated Jacci’s promptness in responding. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and would not recommend this home.

We were sorry for the mouse incidents, our exterminator came to the house to remedy future infestations and we generously compensated this guest for their inconvenience.
