Experience the feeling of unbound freedom and tranquility at LAS VELAS BLANCAS, COSTA RICA, where we have blended the designs of nature with relaxed comfort, simplicity, and beauty.

Unlike any other in its category, Las Velas Blancas is located at the southernmost point of Playa Grande with one hundred (100) meters of beachfront forest facing the breaking surf of Costa Ricaā€™s Pacific Ocean, surrounded by evergreen mangrove forests to the east and south.

The property boasts five two-bedroom/bathroom bungalows, a two-story beachfront lounge, swimming pool, poolside kitchen, dining area and living area and teak floor yoga deck.

This property features five two-bedroom bungalows with ensuite bathrooms, equipped with a fully appointed kitchenette with a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, convection countertop oven, microwave oven, and electric skillet. All ten bedrooms are air conditioned, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. The property can welcome twenty (20) guests in ten (10) bedrooms.

Prices listed are for ten (10) bedrooms in five (05) bungalows: two (02) bedrooms per bungalow.

Each of the five beachfront bungalows consists of two (02) master bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a/c, a fully equipped kitchenette and a covered deck with living and dining area. Each unit has its own private grounds and beach access.

NOTE: For larger parties, along with these five bungalows, we can also open Casa Guayacan that sleeps up to sixteen (16) guests (please view VRBO listing number 1446872). The bungalows and the beach house together can accommodate up to thirty-six (36) guests.

The illuminated swimming pool is at the heart of the amenities area, with the main kitchen, dining facilities, living area and yoga deck on the east side, where a delightful fresh breeze flows constantly. Witness the silent beauty of the most spectacular sunsets.

A short five-minute walk on the beach takes you to the estuary, the natural barrier that separates Playa Grande from the lively surf town of Tamarindo, where you will find a wide variety of restaurants, cafƩs, shops, banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, night life, etc. Pangas (small boats) are always available to ferry you across for a US$2 per person per leg. The estuary is about one hundred (100) meters wide. The boat voyage across the estuary is about one minute.

We recommend our guests to consider our cookā€™s services. She offers a weekly menu with a variety of tried-and-true delicious recipes that she prepares reliably and consistently. The meals are prepared in the central kitchen and served at the poolside dining area.

Liberia International Airport is seventy (70) kms (43 miles) from Las Velas Blancas (about 75-minute drive, depending on traffic).

Tamarindo is twenty (20) kms from Las Velas Blancas by road (About 30 minutes drive). Tamarindo airport serves domestic flights.

Our concierge will assist you coordinating airport transportation, tours, activities, and rentals.

Maintenance staff reside in the property.

This was an excellent location for our extended family gathering. Each family had their own bungalow, giving the young families the private space they needed. They prepared most meals for us giving us good food for all of us and at a good price. We ranged in age from under one to over 70 and the place worked well for all of us. Highly recommend this place for a larger gathering.

Our host was highly responsive. The location was superb! It is rustic but comfortable for people of all ages. We ranged from 81 to 6 years old and had a fabulous time. The ocean was 83 degrees and provided just the right amount of waves for body surfing and our teens to learn to surf. The sunsets were otherworldly. The cook wonderful.

We had the best time at our Bungalow stay and already planning our next trip! None of our group of 12 had been to Costa Rica and didnā€™t know what to expect. For starters the beach and beach access was amazing! The teenagers LOVED surfing with perfect waves, sandy smooth beaches and perfect weather. The location was also an expected surprise as it took minutes to get into Tamarillo. We took advantage of the canal jungle tour where we saw monkeys, crocodiles and beautiful birds. We had massages on the beach in Tamarillo and all agreed that it was the best we ever had. Each day we had an event planned and everything we did was so accessible. Sher was amazing and was ā€˜on top of itā€™ with suggestions and bookings. We only took advantage of the kitchen crew on the last night but wish we used them more as it was delicious. There are very few beach front properties in the area. Donā€™t hesitate to book for so many reasons!

Great trip!

Perfect combination of privacy, convenience and service to make for a great beach vacation. The layout is perfect for couples, we had six couples, everyone had their own space and we all hung out at the pool, dining area and upper deck. Beach is amazing and 30 seconds away. Location hard to beat. Staff is exceptional and the host made it super easy to plan for a big group. All activities were planned well and stress free because of their help.

We had a wonderful time at Las Casas Velas. Perfect spot for good surfing, enjoyed yoga and the juice bar in town and the endless beach. Would highly recommend the chef for good, unfussy food and ease. Will be back!

We had a great experience staying here. We used the cook service for a few nights and used the concierge service for activities. Everything went smoothly and they were able to accommodate our requests (even if we were trying to book an activity the evening before!)

Perfect Location

Our extended family of nineteen (ages 5 to 80) enjoyed an unforgettable week at Las Velas Blancas. We loved the comfortable, rustic cabins, sparkling pool, industrial kitchen and spacious dining area, but most of all the incomparable beach. Staff were tremendously helpful. Alcira cooked us splendid meals. Manfred answered every query, no matter how small or redundant. This place is a Paradise!

Magical Week at Las Velas Blancas

Las Velas Blancas is an amazing gem nestled in Playa Grande! Our group had never been to this part of Costa Rica and the accommodations and location suited us perfectly. The cabanas are close to the surf and the waves were perfect for both beginners and advanced surfers in our group alike. The property manager Sher was an excellent communicator both before and during our stay. We chose to have two meals each day prepared by her recommended chef and they were fabulous for our group of 17. We also had a few meals out in Playa Grande and there were some outstanding restaurants close by. We will be back for sure to this special place which fostered a wonderful vacation for our family and friends.

My wife and I treated our entire family (14 total) of adult children and 6 grandkiddos, ages 5-17. The 5 bungalows allowed everyone to have their privacy and space. The main building allowed us to come together for meals, chillin, and pool swims. The few issues that arose were taken care of very quickly. The ocean was amazing and the highlight of every day! We will have many great memories for years to come.

Incredible location for a wedding!

We hosted 32 of our closest friends and family at Las Velas Blancas for our wedding. It was over a year in the making and exceeded our expectations. The location cannot be beat - right on the beach but so private and still quiet. It's rustic and charming. Alcira (the cook) and her team were incredible. Every meal was astounding and so fresh. I highly recommend this spot for big groups of people, whether for a family reunion or a wedding like we did. So much space!
