Welcome to our magical retreat in the heart of Flamingo Beach, one of Costa Rica's most picturesque coastal gems! Nestled just 50 meters from the pristine white sands, our property offers an unrivaled ocean view that will take your breath away as you watch incredible sunsets.
Immerse yourself in the tranquility of our very lush surroundings, bounded by vibrant greenery and a majestic century-old Ceiba at the edge of our pool terrace which provides shade to our large refreshing swimming pool.

What sets us apart? We're one of the few homes in the area with a capacity of up to 9 bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 22 persons without feeling cluttered, and offering a perfect location. While our home exudes rustic charm, it provides all the modern comforts and amenities necessary for a delightful stay.

Our pricing structure allows you to tailor your experience based on the number of rooms you choose to include. The rental starts with main house rental which costs $1,300 during the high season and $1,000 in the low season. The house comprises three bedrooms: one with a queen-size bed, another with two queen beds, and a third featuring four spacious bunk beds suitable for accommodating eight adults. You can then increase the capacity by adding up to 6 detached bedrooms strategically scattered throughout the property, offering unparalleled privacy for larger groups. Four of these units feature a queen bed, while two others offer a king-size bed. The rate for each detached room is $125 per night in the high season, and $100 in the low season. Two of these units have a convenient kitchenette with a refrigerator and we refer to them as apartments. It's important to note that any of these supplementary units not included in your rental will be securely closed off and will not be made available to any third party.

Please keep in mind that the automatic quote given by VRBO includes the main house only. Once you decide how many additional rooms you will need – if any – we can gladly give you an exact quote and adjust the rate.

All rentals include a caretaker and housekeeper Monday to Saturday to ensure your stay is seamless, along with a night guard for added security. Transportation and chef services are available separately.

Kindly be aware that during high season months, weekly stays cannot run from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday.

We were a family of 22 staying at the villa. The set up and accommodations were exactky as we had hoped for. Lots of space and the authentic Costa Rican decor made it extra special. The pool and patio were absolutely spectacular! The sunseta overlooking the ocean where incredible. Luis, Eliza and Santos were so accommodating. They made themselves available whenever needed. Dealing with Ricardo before during and after was simple and seemless. Cant say enough about our trip of a lifetime!

Absolute Paradise – A One-of-a-Kind Stay!Our stay at Villa Marita was nothing short of unforgettable! This property is truly amazing – the views are breathtaking, the lush grounds are meticulously kept, and the shaded pool was a dream, especially in the heat of the day.While the home is more rustic in style, it adds so much charm and character – it felt like we were on a real Costa Rican adventure, not just a vacation. With 18 of us in total – friends and family spanning all ages – the villa comfortably accommodated everyone. We all absolutely loved the location, especially being so close to the stunning Playa Flamingo beach.Ricardo, the host, was fantastic – responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with. The on-site staff were helpful, friendly, and always available when needed. We also took advantage of the private chef option, which we highly recommend – the chiles rellenos were hands-down the best we've ever had!Villa Marita gave us memories we’ll be talking about for years to come. We can't wait to come back!

Fabulous vacation

We loved this property. The pool was wonderful and it is like a 5 minute walk to the beach. There is a housekeeper, groundskeeper along with a security guard at night, to help out with anything that may be needed. The rooms were clean and the kitchen is well equipped if you need to use it. If you want to, a chef can be hired. We used him for a couple of meals and the meals were wonderful. There were 20 of us and we all had a wonderful time. Plenty of rooms to accommodate us and we did not use all of the room available.

Family get together

It was a family trip. I have 4 daughters and their families. From Kentucky Ohio and California. We all try to get together once a year for a family vacation. There was plenty to do for all age groups offshore fishing eco adventure days beach days pool days. The house fit our needs! I would highly recommend it

Beautiful property!

Our stay was great! It’s in a fantastic location, the view was incredible, and having our own pool was wonderful. Ricardo, Santos, Luis, and the cleaning person were all so communicative and helpful. It was a little strange having everyone around all the time but we got used to it and did rely on their help. The only changes I would make would be updating the seating cushions and boosting the WiFi a bit. Otherwise it was a lovely hacienda and we would stay there again.

We had the most fantastic time at Villa Martita! It was absolutely perfect for our large group of 19. The layout of the home was ideal. Each room offered enough privacy, but the common areas made it easy for everyone to come together and enjoy time as a group.Communication with the host was seamless from the start. Booking, scheduling, and getting our questions answered was easy and stress free, which really set the tone for the whole trip.Eliza, Santos, and Luis were wonderful. Always available when we needed help, yet respectful of our space. We highly recommend using the in-house chef whenever possible. The food was delicious, and with dining out and groceries being quite pricey in the area, having meals prepared at the villa was both convenient and cost effective.The villa is just steps from the beach, which made morning walks and sunset views a dream. The pool, although in need of a little tile work, was still incredibly refreshing and well-used by our group. AC worked perfectly throughout the house, a big plus in the warm weather, and those sunsets were unforgettable.Highly recommend Villa Martita for a relaxing and memorable group getaway!

Great stay - we will be back

Our group rented Villa Martita for the week. Four familes, consistinf of 8 adults and 6 teenagers. The property was as advertised. Perfect location with a short 2 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. The pool is fantastic, as is the kitchen and appliances. There is a large table that we ate our meals at outside, and spots to lounge and eat indoors. Some notes about the property and some other items:The Property - The bedrooms are all air conditioned, but the main house area was not. Things got a little sticky during the day, but luckily the pool and beach was always there to cool you off. There was also a breeze most of the day, but after dark it was still pretty warm. The furniture could use some updating, but was comfortable for the most part. The outpost bedrooms were fine, but the bathrooms were outdoors. This wasn't as big as deal that you would think. The Staff- The staff at Villa Marita was great. There is a day Staff all day for 6 days per week. She cleaned the floors, bathrooms, and bedrooms each day. She also collected and washed towels every day. The night watchman was there each night to make sure that the property was safe from people and animals (namely monkeys). We never felt unsafe, but it was nice to have someone there each night. The staff also cleaned the pool each day. The staff made our stay so much better. Excellent location

We had a group of 10 adults, mostly in their 30's. Plenty of room for all of us to relax and spend time together. Older home, but we liked the authentic vibes. Santos the grounds keeper and Luis the night time security were both great and took care of all of our needs. Location was perfect. Just steps down and very short walk to the beach and close to Coco Loco restaurant. We ate there twice, but daily walks for coconut drinks was popular. More shops and restaurants were within walking distance. We really only used the car to get to the super market and once to get guys to charter fishing. It was an awesome vacation. Playa Flamingo is beautiful and laid back. My husband and I are already planning another trip for next year.

Cette maison est très bien situé, la plage est magnétique et à distance de manche très sécuritaire, vous avez 70 marches à descendre pour vous y rendre. La petite rue entre la maison et la plage et fréquenté surtout par les gens qui se rendre à la plage. La propriété a besoin d’être mieux entretenu, pour ma part et pour le prix demandé nous sommes habitué à beaucoups luxueux. Certains choses simple sont endommagé et pourrait être facilement réparé, exemple: les portes de bois à l’entrée de la propriété, plusieurs lumières de brûlées, Eau qui coule au plafond d’une chambre qui est sous la terrasse de la piscine. Il y a des trous dans le plancher de béton de la terrasse en arrière de la maison pour ce rendre à une des chambre, dangereux pour les jeune enfants. Cet endroit est plus un chalet que une villa. Donc le prix de location devrait être plus bas.

Hard to beat!

Villa Martita is an amazing spot! Unbeatable location with great views and relatively easy beach access (which was not crowded at all even over Christmas). Blend of rustic and modern amenities. The kitchen was amazing. Ricardo was very responsive, even in Christmas Day. The staff were amazing as well!

Perfect location and great host

We had a party of 18 people on property and everyone had plenty of room. This property is a little rustic, but absolutely perfect for us. Ricardo is an excellent host that was very easy to communicate with and work out arrangements. We were in to have our wedding on the beach at Playa flamingo . Ricardo was very knowledgeable of the area and was extremely helpful with contacts to help arrange our stay. If you are looking for a quiet spot to vacation or to host a huge number of family and friends this is an excellent location. When arranging stay out of the country, the host communication is absolutely key. Ricardo is an excellent communicator and was fantastic to work with. I would love to stay here again!

Pura vida at Villa Marita

We spent 2 weeks at Villa Martita in June/July ‘24, with family and friends, using every bedroom available. The marvelous view, large pool, newly renovated kitchen, and efficient and helpful staff are all highlights. Some of the bathrooms need updating and a few struggled to get hot water or good water pressure. The open-air, typical Tico common and dining areas were large and comfortable, except during the worst heat or rain. All bedrooms had strong A/C and the beds and linens very comfortable. The house sits on a hill just above Coco Loco and had a stupendous view of July 4 fireworks on the beach. We hope to come back!

Beautiful property in a great location

This property is great! The view is beautiful! The pool is large and clean the the beach is literally right down the steps and across the street, super close! The house has a nice updated kitchen with a huge fridge which was great for our group! It was rainy season, and it rained! But the beautiful terrace was a great gathering space for our group of 12 to play cards and games. The house is in a great location, within walking distance to several restaurants (including Coco Loco, may favorite!) The staff kept the place very clean and were very nice. Overall it was an amazing house for our family gathering. Would definitely stay again.

Exquisite Stay for Large Bachelorette

My bachelorette party and I stayed here and it accommodated 9 girls. The newly renovated kitchen was phenomenal with essential items equipped for cooking. We enjoyed the views and many seating areas for our large group. Some issues we had were: some showers only running cold water at first, limited cellular reception in the dolphin and pelican rooms, dolphin and pelican bathrooms are not securely covered, and outside critters (spiders, crabs, and raccoons). It was very comforting to know that there was a night guard and daytime caretaker. Overall, despite some small issues, I would recommend staying here for a large party. We even left some floaties for future guests to enjoy, but used an electric air machine to fill them up.

Amazing views

As stated in other reviews, the house is dated, but the amenities and location are perfect! We had a great week enjoying the pool and easy walk down to the beach. Walked to Coco Loco daily because we did not cook much, but the kitchen had everything you need if you do prefer to cook. We had iguanas and spotted a coati in a tree! Great week!!!

Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa immensely! We really have nothing bad to say. We stayed for 10 days Ricardo and his team were always ready to help if we had any questions or needs. It is a 5 min walk away from beautiful Playa Flamingo beach. The pool was a great way to cool down if you didn't feel like going to the beach. If you get the chance to stay at this Villa I recommend it. Thank you for your hospitality Ricardo and team

Family Reunion

We stayed at Ricardo’s property for a week with five different family units. There was enough room for all of us to have space and gather together. The pool and views from there were a favorite for everyone. The staff at the house was extremely helpful and kind to everyone. We especially appreciated Luis’s help when ordering pizza one night for dinner. Ricardo was an excellent host and answered ALL of our questions leading up to and during our stay. It was a great place to all gather together.

Older House, great location

The location was ideal as the beach is beautiful and it’s close to several good restaurants. The house is older and does not have air conditioning in any communal areas, only the bedrooms and the kitchen is not ideal for cooking for a large party. Ricardo and Luis were very helpful, and responsive.

Charming with Character

Villa Martita is beautifully decorated with a wonderful view of the beach and the sunset. The pool is large with a mix of sun and shade all day. Santos keeps the pool and deck clean and scrubs the grill. His great niece, Tatiana, cleans the kitchen and makes beds. His son, Luis, the night guard is alert to noises. I stayed in the Dolphin room which has the outdoor bathroom with 2½ walls and a vine half wall on the rest. The bathroom is set up high above a sidewalk and has plenty of ventilation and great view of the ocean. When I banged something at night, Luis was quick to run his flashlight along the sidewalks, watching for an intruder. The Dolphin room is large with a comfortable king-sized bed and a kitchenette with full refrigerator/freezer. The bathrooms in the main house are the most modern. The bunk bed room has 8 twin beds. In the Turtles Apt the bathrooms had water heaters on the shower heads; there is a full refrigerator, table, and 1 room key for the outside door. One review mentioned that the toilets don’t take toilet paper. That only applies to the Pelican apt which has a tree growing through it, which adds character, the Monkey apt, and maybe the Crab apt which we didn’t use. My sister stayed at Hotel Margaritaville and couldn’t flush toilet paper. We did not run out of water and did not lose power as mentioned in the previous review. The kitchen is in the screened in area so jump in the pool when you get hot. Villa Martita has some quirks, but is a great value!

Gorgeous property but a few items need help

We had a party of 20 people staying at Villa Martita for a senior spring break trip. The view and outdoor areas are incredible and the pool and surrounding area accommodates a large group. The hammock was so relaxing! The long table that seats a large group is a definite bonus. The properties location could not be better for an active group. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach, Coco Loco, Margaritaville for happy hour, and even walked to town several times for coffee and ice cream. The AC in the bedrooms works great (minus a couple days in one of the rooms, but Ricardo was very responsive and got it fixed). Ricardo was very attentive to our many concerns, specifically the cleanliness of the kitchen and bathrooms. Things to note: Can't flush toilet paper Daily power outages common Water runs out around noon Sewer smell in a few bathrooms Wildlife sometimes show up in house Not all rooms are shown in listing, two room have outside bathrooms, one has a tree in it. Also lots of ants, and a few large spiders. Staff is great but speak very little English. Chef service was wonderful, kitchen is small and dirty. With some cleaning and updating this place could be magical. We have some great stories and memories to last a lifetime. We would go back if it was gussied up a bit.

Johnson family with 6 adults and 5 childres from 5 to 12

This was a week my kids and grandkids will remember the rest of our lives. The location was excellent, the place was wonderful with plenty of room for all of us. We only used 5 bedrooms so there was plenty of room. We used the available cook for most of our meals and the food was excellent. The owner was available whenever we needed to ask questions. He furnished maid service, grounds keeper, and even security nightly. He arranged for travel, tours, colf carts, etc. which we paid for separately, We couldn't ask for more from him. Access to beach required traversing a lot of steps down and back but at 78, I made it OK, even went zip linning the first of the week then used the golf cart and a lot of rum. We will be back. Costa Rican rum and coffee are the greatest and it's easy to bring back through customs. Hasta Luego

Our family purchased the terrain back in 1982, when reaching Flamingo Beach from San José was a quite an endeavor. Back then, there were no phone lines, water was only from wells and very few services existed. The north ridge was completely virgin, only a handful of homes existed on the south ridge. Over the years Flamingo started growing beginning with a beachfront hotel and several condominiums. The marina was built in the 90's the area continuing growing, always maintaining a family-oriented experience. We first built a house with three bedrooms and a swimming pool. Over the years we added apartments and detached bedrooms with the idea of accommodating friends and family but making sure each room had its privacy so everyone could enjoy their space. We are blessed to have a centruy old stunning Ceiba tree providing shade on the pool terrace. We planted more other trees to help create a lush green environment where you truly feel surrounded buy nature and overlooking the magnificent Pacific Ocean. We love our place and hope that you do too!

If you have a large group of friends and family, and want a green space, a breathtaking ocean view, a beach considered one of the most beautiful in the country', sufficient privacy between rooms and the best beach cafe in the area at a comfortable two-minute walk, then this is the place to be.

If you like to be close to nature, in a house surrounded by trees and with a peaceful ocean view then this is the place for you. Some our guests have labeled it as an "organic house" and we couldn't agree more. Sitting by the pool under the shade of a magnificent ceiba tree that's at least 100 years old is awe inspiring.
