Location:
Nestled off of the Boylston Highway between Mills River and Brevard. The house is about minutes from Brevard and 15 minutes from Asheville Airport. 30 minutes from Asheville.

Description:

As the Mother Goose poem states “And they all lived together in a little crooked house.” Pops Place is that little crooked house that sits on a fish filled pond.  This is truly a house of character, as it was once a tobacco barn that was located in the middle of where the pond is now.  The large windows on both levels were once French doors and the history of the house goes on from there as each piece was put together by the owner’s father (Pops).

The house sits above a pond filled with trout for you to fish and a dock. There is also a hiking trail right next to the property. Pops Place also has an open deck to enjoy the evening cool air. Peace, quiet, and privacy as there is only one neighbor across the pond (They share the pond).

This is truly a house that has a lot to offer a family for a summer vacation.

FOUR NIGHT MINIMUM STAY REQUIRED FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.

The Host
As your host during your stay, White Squirrel Realty is easy to reach by text or phone.  Each home is supplied with fresh, professionally laundered linens and supplies to make your stay comfortable.  Our cleaning crew is local, paid a living wage and are trained so that you can enjoy your vacation in a clean home.
Confirmed guests will receive a text message to the cell phone on the reservation with a link to the essential information you need to enjoy your stay like the door code and the directions.  The digital guide book has information on the property and also on the area including restaurants, grocery stores and popular destinations.  Guests can go straight to the property at check-in time.

Exterior furniture dirty and full of spider webs as well as surrounding areas. Humidifier was sticky to touch, obviously has not been cleaned in a while. This is my second stay at Pops Place. We like the rustic feel and its location. However could use some serious cleaning up.

Good getaway.

We enjoyed our stay. Place is showing its age, musty smell inside. Was improved when employee brought out candle and Lysol spray which we greatly appreciated. Had to have a/c fan run continuously to help smell. A lot of dishes and silverware can be replaced with resale items. Cords run all over. Bathroom shower not handicapped friendly. Staff worked with us very well. Good location, good fishing.

For management, do not publish if you don't want

Screen door going out to the deck was fithy, I cleaned it with the oven cleaner, and learned why you need to wear gloves, lol. The cabinet doors could also use a good cleaning . My family and I really enjoy this property, and would be happy to stay there again. I just wanted to give the management an honest evaluation.

We absolutely adore Pop’s Place.

We absolutely adore Pop’s Place. The home was obviously made with a vision and couldn’t have been more of a “home away from home”. We felt safe with the cleaning procedures that were put in place before our arrival and were comfortable during our stay thanks to a cozy home and a serene environment. The PM company were prompt in their responses, kind, and helpful. This is certainly a home we will visit again. Thank you! The team was excellent. Very knowledgeable of the property and helpful with the process of renting during a pandemic. The team ensured my requests to the housekeeper were met and I felt 100% comfortable bringing my family to the home for a much needed break. Thank you!
