Summary:
This beautifully decorated 2 bedroom 1 bath condo features an open layout with its own private deck or patio that you access through French doors. High end finishes including stainless appliances, granite counter tops, knotty alder cabinets, bamboo hardwood floors. This small quaint community features gated courtyard with large fountain and seating. Condo has flat screen Smart tv's with WIFI internet service.

The Space:
The bedrooms feature king-sized beds and Smart TVs with all your favorite streaming apps. Beautifully tiled bathtub/shower combination includes shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Bathroom features a large vanity with double-sinks.

Kitchen comes completely furnished with all cookware, bakeware, glasses, utensils, toaster and Keurig coffeemaker with coffee, creamer and sugar provided. Kitchen is open to the living room and features a bartop with barstools.

Washer/dryer are included, as well as one reserved parking space.

Guests have access to the entire condo, in addition to one reserved parking space and community courtyard.

The Neighborhood:
Our Condo is located just two blocks from the Country Club Plaza and the Westport area of Kansas City. Designed in 1922, the Plaza was built as the country's first suburban shopping district. Stroll through it's endless options of stores, restaurants and nightlife. Make sure to stop along the way to admire the art & architecture. Numerous fountains, sculptures and murals make the Plaza a true outdoor art gallery. Our condo is also in close proximity to Westport, Midtown, Downtown and the RiverMarket.

Getting Around:
If you opt to not bring a car, RideShare and taxi options are plentiful and easily available. KC Metro bus line also has a nearby stop.

The host was rude and unprofessional. The door code instructions were inaccurate, making entry very difficult, and it was unclear as to whether we could reenter once we left the apartment. When reported to the owner by phone, he laughed and proceeded to call my son ā€œa dickā€ four times before granting access to the keyā€“which should have been his first response. The key lockboxā€“although accessibleā€“was broken. As temps dropped during our weekā€™s stay, the lock seemed to freeze up and only the key would work. The door code lock never was operational again, even after the temperature warmed up. This same door has visible gaps in the door jamb resulting in a very cold living room.The kitchen is not well-equipped with enough cutlery and dishes. The stoveā€™s glass top was stained with burn marks. The kitchen cabinets all stick and are difficult to open, and one is somewhat broken. The back of one of the four chairs at the dinette table was broken. The tub faucet control has no clear indicators of the Hot or Cold water. It just turns and turns, making it hit or miss to find the hot water. The toilet runs and squeals upon flushing. There are no grab bars in the shower/tub.The washer and dryer do not work well. The dryer, in particular, doesnā€™t get hot enough to dry clothes in a timely fashion or at all. The guest bedroom carpet is stained. The curtain rod holding the sheers is somewhat broken and droops, and there are vertical tears in the curtain fabric. MORE ON NEXT REVIEW...

I mistakenly made my initial for the right days, but the wrong year. Totally my fault, but when I reached out to the owner, he was at a family dinner, no problem, but he said to text him with updated information. That was on a Friday evening, I don't have exact timeline but did not hear back from him at all about updating reservation. Followed up the following Tuesday or Wednesday to get the corrected dates, not knowing if it was available.Also texted him the week of the reservation about making an exception for having people visit and never responded to my texts. Was also expecting an email to me directly about checking in process, not through the VRBO system, was not aware that it was done that way because I had received initial contact directly.The apartment itself is okay. Somewhat dark in the bottom corner of the complex I was having problems with the hot water in the shower, because I was turning it all the way up. It was tepid. When I asked him about, if he had told me to move the handle just partially up, that would have generated the hot water, but my thought was to move it all the way. His responses to my request were snarky and basically blaming me for not knowing that the handle position was the issue. Probably needs to fix the handle. He did have someone come look at, but we were not there when they came, so could not explain the issueOne of mattresses was terrible, saggy. Neighbors were very loud until 1:00 AM. Would not stay there again or recommend it.

The location is perfect, and easy walk to the plaza or the streetcar. The parking lot is a bit tight but its nice to not be on the street. Overall the unit us nice but in need of some updates. The bedrooms are very dimly lit, some brighter bulbs or better lamps would be nice, a mirror in the bedrooms as we were sharing a bathroom and needed multiple areas to get ready, and the shower was a bit tricky. It doesn't have an actual "off position" it spins 360 degrees so you have to just slowly spin it until it stops dripping. The couch seems to have something broken in the middle area and the coffee table is worn. I would stay here again, but some updates would make it better.

The location of this rental is great for getting out on the town. Youā€™re right in the mix, close to shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is walkable and safely lit. My only wish is that there were a few fixes to broken features - the patio has a broken rail that poses a potential safety hazard, and the Beth room faucet was broken and obviously glued back together, which broke again quickly upon use.

This property is nice and the outside courtyard was a nice place for my family to gather for the evening. However, there is no overhead lighting in either bedrooms, and the lap in the room we stayed did not work, so I could not see anything in the bedroom. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, but if you have more than 2 people who want to drink coffee, bring your own mugs as there are only 2. My issue was also with the check in process. I have always received a code to check in from the property manager when I have paid and it is time to check in. I never received this information. In order to receive this, I was required to provide a photo of the front and back of my drivers license, a self photo and a 100 deposit on my credit card before I was allowed the access code for the door. This was not communicated at all through VRBO, but was sent in a separate email that I did not see when we reserved the property. I was able to contact the property manager as I was trying to get into the property and the email was resent to me. After I followed all of the requirements, I was finally given the code. This was not a positive experience and I do advise anyone who wants to rent this space to make sure you understand all that is required from this owner.

Nice location, lovely kitchen and living area, comfortable bed but I would not necessarily stay again. The neighbors were very loud from 3:30 a.m. on, the fan was not balanced so it was loud, the toilet ran, and the curtains are sheer so in the morning light comes through but at night thereā€™s only one lamp for light. It was clean though and felt safe and I appreciated having a no hassle way to do an early check in.

This apartment is overall fine. There are definitely some items that need to be fixed (dripping bathroom sink, bath faucet is tricky to get to fully turn off, inadequate lighting in the bedrooms), but it was clean and sufficient for a one night stay with our dog. The location is great, and the parking spot is a big plus.We saw some very negative, concerning reviews from July 2025 after we booked but after our cancellation window that made us quite concerned. It appears that the owners addressed these issues after these reviews, as we did not see mold on the floor or have ceiling leaks in the bathroom, and the apartment smelled fine. Communication and check in process is not good. I got automated reminders for the stay but no actual link to the website that has the check in information (which is separate from VRBO), and ended up having to contact VRBO customer support the day we were going to arrive to get check in information - this made for a stressful day.Overall, we had a pleasant stay once we checked in, but I would not highly recommend.

Check in was fine. It was odd that they sent a link the day I booked several months in advance for the day of checkin. I reached out to the host and they seemed short with me when I asked about it. Kitchen had bare minimum of plates, bowls, cups. The cabinet all stuck and you had to pull hard to open. No salt or pepper in the shakers. WiFi was strong and easy to access.

Upon arrival there was a puddle of water on the kitchen floor. I notified the host and asked for a cancellation and refund immediately because I did not want to be held responsible for any underlying issues or damage. The host stated that this was not a situation that called for a cancellation or refund because they were sending maintenance to look at this issue. I explained that we were very uncomfortable and would not be staying there. The unit was not cleaned properly, which I also notified the host about after he refused to cancel/refund me. I genuinely thought that a puddle of water in the middle of the kitchen and not wanting any liability would make sense to a business owner. The communication with the host was spotty and clearly at their convenience as opposed to the consideration of the renter (me). I accidentally messaged the host regarding housekeeping when I meant to text the hotel I ended up staying at instead. The host said they sent housekeeping to the unit after I had already been very clear that I was not staying at the unit. The maintenance person and housekeeping would have verified that the unit was empty. Absolutely a terrible experience. Would not recommend this host or property ever.

I have stayed at many vrbos and other rental properties, and this is the first time I've given a negative review. I would not recommend staying at this property.Damaged and unclean: There were multiple maintenance issues, but the biggest problem was the substantial mold and rotten flooring next to the bed. I messaged three times and never got a response. Other damaged aspects of the property included carpet separating from the floor with exposed and painful tacks, broken lampshades, one of the two sinks didn't work, and the tub was missing the stopper. Check in process: They required checking in via a separate website and a damage deposit outside of VRBO. Communication: I received several automated texts messages saying they hoped I was having a good stay, but didn't respond to any of my texts about the molding and rotten floor. This seems unsafe and unhygienic, and they didn't respond to any of my messages. It seems like they're part of a larger short term rental group, so I'll make sure to avoid all of their properties in the future.

Overall, Iā€™ll give this place a six out of 10 the check-in process was OK. The cleanliness wasnā€™t all of that. It smelled like straight cat piss when I walked in the shower curtain liner was very disgusting. It has stuff all over it. The tub really wasnā€™t that clean. I-seen that it was boogers on the walls. Iā€™ve also noticed it was hair on the couches. If youā€™re looking for somewhere to stay for a night it is fine but overall the cleanliness needs to be a little better.

This place was nice. However, the main bedroom with tv had mold and hole in the corner. Bed was comfortable. Nice setup/decoration of the apartment. The first day, we couldnā€™t connect with the internet on the tv but the wireless was on. It was later figured out. Let the owner know but no response about it. Just seemed to have automated responses.

For the most part our stay was fine. The cleanliness of the space was not up to par in my opinion. In addition the king bed that I slept in had a literal dip in the mattress. Which doesn't make for comfortable sleep. I expected much better. While taking a shower, I noticed the interior wall of the tub/shower had what looks like white mold or very old spots of soap. I was also disappointed that I was asked to put a down payment of a hundred dollars before I could get my check in information. I totally understand this, I just wish it had been clear to me up front. I've used the other rental company many times and have never been asked to put any amount of money on hold. And this is a complaint for vrbo the company not the house owner... your interface and communication is lacking. I downloaded the app.The client had my cellphone number and an email. And I still couldn't find information I needed. This was my first time using vrbo and it will probably be my last.
The dip was on one side which also tells me they don't flip these beds or turn them. Out of all the things that should be kept up and brand new or at least in good working order in a situation like this is the mattress

The location was wonderful and unit was looked clean. We enjoyed the little balcony. The unit did had a strange faint smell between cat urine and cooking. My son is allergic to cats and his eyes watered and became swollen over night. Another issue ( the first I have ever had using VRBO) The host was not responsive to my emails or phone call, I have to admit the issue ended up being mine, as I expected a message giving me info to enter the unit. There was a link in an earlier text and email that I had missed providing the info. However, the host could have told me that the first time I messaged him 3 days before our arrival. I messaged him again 1 day out and nothing- I had a sleepless night worrying that we didnā€™t have a place when we arrived the following day. Still nothing hours before our stay, I even phoned. No answer. Finally a got a message that the link was in an earlier text. Luckily I had not deleted it.

Missed opportunities

This could be a great place to stay at but needs to have some significant maintenance issues dealt with before I would recommend it. Emailed the management with the list of issues and never heard back. Delayed posting a review waiting for a response.

Condo in Great Neighborhood

We were only there for one night. We baby sat our 8wk old grandson while kids went to the Banana Ball Game. It was comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Full kitchen with a hodge podge of plates/pans etc. If you plan to cook a lot, it might be a challenge. No prep or serving containers.
