Summer House West B201 is a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath condominium, townhome style, located on the 2nd floor in building B overlooking Little Lagoon. The unit is approximately 1280 sq ft with views of Little Lagoon and limited views of the gulf from the balconies. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer. There are 2 full baths with either a tub/shower combo and half bath.

Summer House West building A, B and C are 3 story wood structure buildings, town home style, located approximately 3.5 miles West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Summer House West has an outdoor pool, deeded beach access, fishing pier, fish cleaning station and gazebo with bbq grills. No trailers allowed. Minimum age to rent - 21.

STAY AND PLAY
This rental comes with our 'Stay and Play Package', which includes complimentary tickets to the best area activities including golfing, deep sea fishing, dolphin/nature cruise, amusement park, zoo, and movie rentals. Each rental comes with our "Stay and Play package." Some restrictions apply.

*The 'Stay and Play Package' begins on the scheduled date of arrival and is not available on day of departure. Services are non-cumulative and non-transferable. All services are subject to change, subject to availability, and weather permissible. The 'Stay and Play Package' does not apply to monthly rentals.

Even though the beach is across the road it is a short walk and the traffic is of no concern. Also, the beach is not nearly as crowded as the larger condo's we have stayed in. The only concern is getting luggage/groceries up the stairs. For older people, like myself and my husband, it is not a good situation!

This was last minute for us to book but overall this was a nice place access to beach has a pool .. very quiet , the only thing I would say we had issues was the pullout bed was broke and things could be updated but overall it was nice

We wanted it just a few degrees cooler because bedrooms are upstairs and the ceiling fans in them aren't up to par. Some of the pots and pans need to be replaced as well. Otherwise, beds were comfy and the condo was large enough for 5 adults. Location is great, short walk to the beach or lagoon. The dock on lagoon was new, a little small, but we enjoyed fishing off of it. Overall, we were pretty happy with our stay.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was not very clean, a lot of things didn't work properly, the AC unit could not keep up and the upstairs was really hot. The 2 flights of stairs getting up from the parking area were super steep. Bring bottled water and bags of ice ... the fridge does have an icemaker but the water takes like rust so the ice is not palatable. The shower head in the master bath needs to be replaced as there wasn't much water pressure. There wasn't anything that was truly bad about the unit, but nothing was truly outstanding either. For the price, I think we can do better the next time we come to the area.

Close to beach but some issues with the condo

Short walk to beach access. The condo was big enough for all 8 of us, 4 adults, 4 children. Kitchen is a little small if everyone is in it trying to cook, get food, drinks out the fridge etc. the unit is right next to the pool, pool was very clean! Check in process was a breeze and like the fact that you could check out on the app and leave the keys on the bar. The king size bed was very comfortable, the rest of the beds, not so much. The sofa pull out has a bar right where your back hits. There is 3 balconyā€™s, one off the living room and one off each bedroom, which was nice. The beach view is VERY limited and you see more of the bay side but not much more. There is a water hose right next to where you park which was nice for rinsing off after being at the beach. We had zero WiFi the entire time we were there, reported it numerous times, the provider even came out and couldnā€™t get it to work, only frustrating because some personal work needed to be done online while we were there. According for the provider, the WiFi for that particular until was ā€œnot securedā€ did not have its own modem etc, he also stated equipment would need to be installed in the unit, the owner doesnā€™t have private secure internet for the property, according to the provider. When we arrived, the kitchen counter and sink were dirty with food, the king side bed linens were also dirty, the tile floors were sticky. The unit is older and not necessarily ā€œbadā€ but could use some tlc and upgrades in amenities etc, especially for the amount charged per night. The washer/Dryer is rusted and starting to fall apart but still worked. Carpets are stained and a fresh coat of paint to cover up all the scuff marks etc would make the place even nicer. The ceiling fan in the spare room did not work, which was troubling since upstairs is Extremely HOT, even following all the recommendations listed for optimal performance of the ac. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom was off balanced and looked like it was about to fall out of the ceiling, there was a leak when we first arrived in the dinning room and under the kitchen sink. I sent the online form for it to be fixed as stated by the rental company. I called the rental company and there was some miscommunication and several calls, which was a little annoying as we were on vacation. Unfortunately nothing was fixed during our stay due to needing property owners approval. Bring extra bath towels and FANS

It was fairly close to the beach and the pool was literally right beside it. The floor in the master bathroom was a little dirty but nothing too bad. Everything else was clean. Would definitely stay here again. The beds were comfy and it was homey. The air conditioner wasnā€™t working when we first arrived but I called the front desk and maintenance called me back and we got it fixed!

Nice location but needs some TLC

The location of this property is great. You have a view of the lagoon and also a view of the ocean. It is away from the crowded area but still close to restaurants etc. The downside is that there are 30 very steep stairs to get into the unit and then more stairs to get to the bedrooms. Ok for us but I'm sure some can't do that many stairs. The storm door on the main door is broken so you have to hold it every time you open it so the wind doesn't catch it and slam it back. The kitchen needs a deep cleaning. Lots of sand and dirt on the floor and splashes and dirt on the cupboards, stove, microwave and fridge. The water and ice does not work on the fridge door and the side by side opens to a wall so you have about an 8" clearance to get into the fridge. Most of the outlets did not work in the second bedroom. I called on day 2 for repair and no one showed up. To get to the bathroom in the second bedroom, you have to shimmy between the bed and the wall to get to the door. Again, ok for my 16 year old but some would not be able to do this 10 times a day. The door in that room that goes to the balcony cannot be open when you want to watch TV. The vertical blind spines fall off in the master bedroom and bathroom needs a deep cleaning. If these things were fixed and it had a good overall cleaning, this unit would get a 4 from me.
