Nice resort, but crowded

The resort is nice, restaurant on site is nice. No chance in getting a lounge chair by the pool unless you camp out at 7:30am. No water pressure(couldn't even shower) one morning that we had breakfast reservations, notified KBM, no response. Heard it was an issue for quite a few units that morning. We enjoyed ourselves, but some definite frustrations.

Amazing Stay

We had the best time! The property is amazing-clean, a small market is available at the resort, and the condo was perfect! It’s spacious and had everything we needed for an amazing week in paradise. The beach was a little rough at times, so we didn’t spend much time in it with our kids (2 and 4). The kids loved the pools and we spent most of our mornings lounging and swimming. No complaints!

This is a great property.

This is a great location and property. we were glad glad to see that a they were updating the property. updating the painting the exterior looks nice however I hope they do the same with the common area carpets and walls needs a little TLC. but overall great experience.

Beautiful Condo and Location

Booking, communicating, check in was prompt and smooth. The condo had all that we needed - kitchen ware, 3 large bathrooms with plenty of towels and a w/d. Also plenty of seating in living and dining areas. We loved the lanai and had the perfect seat for nightly sunsets. Bonus: beach towels included along with beach chairs and lots of quality boogie boards. The grounds are pretty, staff is friendly and the location is close to several beaches, restaurants and shopping. Easy to get in and out with underground parking. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return. One con: condo is right above a pool which leaves any quiet moments on the lanai to very early mornings or very late nights, however; it wasn’t ever overly loud. (We heard no noise from the pool when the lanai doors were closed.) Condo was clean, well kept, and had all the amenities we needed. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and mahalo to the islanders who welcomed us so graciously.

Family trip

Not a lot of kitchen necessities at this property. With Covid we did a lot of cooking at home. No potholders, crappy pot and pan selection. Not a lot of platters, large bowls. No aluminum foil, baggies...etc. wasted a lot of money buying what we needed. Stayed at other properties there and they were stocked much better. Also property was a little old. Dirty drapes in bedrooms.

KBM Resorts was great to rent through. Honua Kai Resort is a lovely place to rent especially for families traveling with younger kids. I highly suggest room 503! KBM made sure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. They were always friendly and helpful answering any questions we had. We had some problems with our room and they exceeded our expectations of making sure they helped us remedy it. I would highly recommend renting through KBM Hawaii. We definitely will rent through them again!

Great stay!

Great communication from property manager. Easy checkin. Beautiful property. Unit was 1st rate had everything you would need. Loved sitting out on the balcony. Easy car rental/pickup/return. If you go out in the ocean in front of the property- wear water shoes lots of sharp rocks but great fish to see when it’s not windy and the sand isn’t getting churned up. Definitely plan to go back!

Wonderful Location

This condo has a great location with a beautiful view of the ocean, pools and the resort. The condo has very comfortable beds and very nice tile showers. Everything was very, very clean, except for some stains on the guest bedroom rugs. The only issue we had was the new Bosch dryer that did not dry our clothes or towels. I hope this issue gets resolved as a dryer is a necessity when traveling with children. Kevin, our KBM representative, was very good about trying to keep us happy. We weren't real impressed with the hallways and the elevators, though. There were stains on the rugs and the elevator floor edges were dirty. This surprised us as we stayed in the Kona tower for three years and did not see this. I would definitely stay at this condo again.

Top of the line accommodations!

We have visited Honua Kai 7 times and have stayed in ocean view studios, ocean view 2 BR’s and 3 BR end units with bbqs. Hokulani 503 is by far our favorite out of all of them. The open layout and proximity to the ocean is what we liked best. It is a privately owned unit so we felt there was a little more pride taken into the upkeep and maintence of the unit as opposed to other property managed condos. I am bookmarking HK H503 and will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful condo!

This condo is amazing! Spacious, light filled, and the opening window wall - absolutely stunning. We enjoyed our week here and were impressed with many little touches, like a box of chocolates for us to enjoy on arrival. There were a couple little things that it lacked - no ziplock bags or tupperware to store leftover food or to pack a lunch to go - despite offering a cooler to pack in a lunch in. The grounds were amazing, the pools were clean and warm, and having Duke's on site was wonderful as well. Would definitely stay again if we return to the island!
