Lovely Property in a Terrific Neighbourhood

Everything was as advertised and more! Beds were very comfortable and common space for sharing our day was great. There were great restaurants within a 10 minute walk and the train station made getting around quite easy. Really enjoyed our stay!

First time in Glasgow

Apartment is in a good location in the west end. We thoroughly enjoyed the mix of old world charm and updated kitchen/bathroom. Very spacious and charming. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location in Glasgow!

We loved our stay here! Close to transport, restaurants, pubs and the Uni! Great place to walk about and get lost. Margaret met us and made us feel very welcome. Also met the neighbours across the way at #5. Classic very friendly Glaswegians! Invited me in for a wee glass.

Beautiful Spot in West Glasgow

Really pretty 3 BR apartment in a beautiful neighborhood in downtown Glasgow. Nice stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. Beautiful views. Note, for Americans, this is on the fourth floor for us, even though the Scots call if floor three (with what we call the 1st floor they call the ground floor). There is not a key box or remote way to check in, so you do have to do an in-person check-in to receive the keys.

During summer we find it especially beautiful and very relaxing looking out the turret windows watching the lawn bowling at the Hyndland Bowling Green! We are fortunate that the flat does not have an immediate view out into other flats as is so common with tenement flats, and therefore has privacy that is rare to find. Also we now offer self check-in which has been great for our guests. We hope to welcome you back and send you our very best wishes.

Nice Flat- Quiet Neighborhood

I am currently traveling through Scotland and England with my wife and two adult children. We just stayed at the Hyndland flat; we checked out of there this morning. Overall, our stay was very good. The flat is in a nice, quiet neighborhood that is close to a lot of restaurants and shops, and it’s only a 6-8 minute walk to the train station. We used the train several times to get to City Center and to Edinburgh. There are lots of things to see and do in those two places alone. In addition to places to eat, there are a couple of bars and a small grocery store in the immediate area. Multiple restaurants, bars, and Kelvingrove Art Museum are all within a 15-20 minute walk. The flat is set up nice. There’s a fully furnished kitchen to those that want to prepare a meal or two, and the place is comfortable. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, but there are two issues that came up with my wife and kids. First, you’ll have to climb three flights of stairs to get to the flat. People with mobility issues, or people carrying large bags of luggage, or groceries, might have a problem with that. I knew what I was getting when I booked this- I read the reviews- but the stairs, multiple times a day, always carrying something, can be a pain. The only other thing I can, or will, document, is the amount of noise the floors make. There are hard wood floors pretty much throughout the flat, and other than a few spots, every step you take will creek. If you’re staying alone, it’s not a big deal, but If there are others that like to sleep in a bit, they won’t get the extra sleep (unless you pick a spot and stay there). I’m an early riser, and just walking to the bathroom or kitchen to make coffee, it felt like I was waking everyone in the flat with me, and probably those below. Other than these two things, I’d say the place is perfect. It really is. If you don’t mind climbing stairs several times a day, after walking all day, or squeaky floors, this place really is for you.

In the summer time it's especially beautiful and very relaxing looking out the turret windows onto the expansive view or watching the lawn bowling at the Hyndland Bowling Green instead of a view looking out on other flats. Also, all tenement flats were built at the turn of the last century and have their original wooden floors which inherently can make noise. We have carpets in all the rooms and wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms to help buffer the sound while preserving the architectural integrity of the flat. We would be pleased to welcome you and your family back on your next visit to Glasgow. We wish you the best for the rest of your travels around England and Scotland.

Wonderful accommodation in a lovely part of Glasgow. Comfortable, clean and spacious. Quiet at night. Near to tube station for easy access. Went to Loch Lomand and Stirling by train. Botanic gardens in Glasgow are a lovely place to visit. Thank you to Margaret for her introduction to the property. Highly recommend.

Wonderful space and location

Overall this property was really special. There were a few minor items that could do with improvement (non working radios, blunt kitchen knives, weak shower pressure) but the important things were between good and spectacular.

Thank you for your kind review and letting us know of these minor issues. There is a knife sharpener in the kitchen drawer, but thank you for letting us know they needed sharpening and they are now sharp and ready for use. Also, we are sorry you experienced low shower pressure; as with older flats in Glasgow, if you are running two or more large water usage devices (washing machine, dishwasher, shower or kitchen sink) at the same time it will directly affect the water pressure. We will also check the radios as they were all working before your stay. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in our home and all the details and amenities we have added to make it extra special. A happy visit.

The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and cosy. Local shops nearby as well as good transport links into the city. The views from the lounge window were amazing - - chimney tops close by and all the way to mountains in the distance when looking in two directions. The dusk skies offering a variety of changing colours.

Lovely Flat

My husband and I came to Glasgow with our 2 daughters from Canada. We’ll recommend this flat to our friends. The hosts were lovely, the location is central to activities and public transportation. It’s a quick walk to the Hop On Hop Off tourist Bus and trains. We loved the flat. It was clean and comforting to come home to after a long day out! Everything you need is available, and it’s quiet. Perfect.

Perfectly located luxury flat

We enjoyed our stay at this Hyndland flat. It is beautiful and spacious. The flat has 3 lovely, well appointed bedrooms. The kitchen fits the era of the home, yet it’s completely new with everything one would need and sparkling clean. This home feels like a real home, with the lovingly cared for antiques and books, not just a rental property. The views are amazing. From the living room we could watch the sunset and see the lights go on in the flats around us, which makes one feel a part of this lovely neighborhood. We walked to shops and restaurants and always felt comfortable and safe. I would recommend you stay here to feel like you actually live in Glasgow! One warning: you may end up just staying in one day, (as we did), to laze around and enjoy this luxurious, homey, & comfortable flat...and miss a few sights of Glasgow!

Our family came to Glasgow over 20 years ago and fell in love with the city. We moved to Hyndland because it is a rare perfectly preserved historic neighbourhood. It is a hidden gem in Glasgow and once you experience it, you never want to be anyplace else.

We fell in love with the breathtaking views from the drawing room turret, along with the hamlet neighborhood with unique boutique shops. We have thoughtfully decorated and restored our home to bring it back to an elegant historical residence with modern luxuries.
