Sobre esta propriedade

Victorian terraced Cottage with great views.

The accommodation is a spacious, 2 bedroom end terrace, Victorian cottage is situated on a hill giving spectacular views down the Clyde to Arran and up Loch Long to the Arrachor Alps. It sleeps 6, and has parking for two cars.

It has a bright high entrance hallway offering storage space for coats and shoes. The kitchen offers plenty of storage space, an oven, hob, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave and dishwasher. The Kitchen is fully stocked with plates, glasses, cutlery, pans and a wide variety of utensils, iron, and ironing board. The kitchen floor has been tiled with terracotta tiles and underfloor heating. A short set of steps from the rear access door takes you to a small private garden for guests with a picnic table. The main parking space for one car is located at the front of the cottage. The parking spot is located half way up the driveway and on the right. the space can hold two cars if the first is parked in front of the garage. It is marked 'parking for no 1' .

The living / dining area has a large window with aspects over Loch Long and the Firth Of Clyde out to Arran. The living room and hall are laid with solid wood flooring.

The bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs. Bedroom one is a large double with open aspects out to Loch Long, the Firth of Clyde and Arran. It is furnished with a handmade sycamore double bed. This room can also accommodate an additional single bed if required, but this must be requested at the time of booking.

Bedroom 2 is a large double with aspects to rear and private guest outdoor space. It has a Double handmade elm framed bed and a single bed. The bedrooms are currently set up as a double and a double and a single twin but as stated an additional temporary bed is available if required. A travel cot can also be provided if required as well as a highchair, baby bath, and a bath seat.

The bathroom is also located upstairs and has a bath with an over head electric shower. All the flooring on the stairs and upper floor is new and is a combination of carpet, laminate and vinyl. A shared washing machine and tumble dryer are located in separate utility room accessed from the front garden and available upon request.

We are a family with two children (8 and 6) who live in the cottage next door. We use the garden to the front of the cottages so we ask that guests use the front door for access only and that care is taken to ensure the gate is closed as our children play in the garden.

The cottage has wifi and a more reliable cabled internet access via an ethernet connection and an adapter to convert via USB. There is no TV but should you find yourself bored there is a selection of DVD's and a player to connect to a computer as well as a selection of board games and books in English and French.

Guests will have access to the entire cottage, the private rear garden and parking to the front. Access to the cottage is through a side gate on the left heading up the driveway, marked Number 1. Access is through our garden so we ask that guests only pass through and ensure the gate is closed as we have young children. Guests will also have access to a washing machine.

The Rosneath Peninsula projects south from Garelochhead, separating Gare Loch and Loch Long and forming the north shore of the River Clyde opposite Gourock.

The peninsula owes virtually the whole story of its development to the sea, though with two very different eras producing very different aspects of what you see today. Kilcreggan, at the southern tip of the peninsula, typifies the first period of the peninsula's growth. With Cove, to its north west, a visit to Kilcreggan is like stepping back in time. Kilcreggan Pier is the last remaining original Victorian pier on the Clyde, and as you look around from the viewpoint it offers, most of the buildings seem to date back to the same era.

Kilcreggan is a small village with everything you need close at hand and surrounded by breathtaking views and beautiful coastline. It has a small grocery shop, post office, an award winning butchers, a pub, café, bank, a retro vintage clothing shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/yvieretroandvintage and an antique shop operated by Roo Irvine (a BBC antiques expert) https://www.kilcregganantiques.com/

Kilcreggan and Cove grew during the era of the Clyde steamers from the 1820s onwards. Those who could afford to do so had their architect build a distinctive and distinguished house for them, from which they could enjoy distant views across the Clyde to the hills of Argyll.

Kilcreggan Pier not only survives, but continues to be used. It is the terminus for the ferry that links Kilcreggan with Gourock, on the far side of the Clyde. A short ferry crossing across to Gourock offers more options for eating and shopping. You can also catch the high speed train to Glasgow from the port in Gourock.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the Arrochar Alps which is only a short drive away. Faslane and Colport Naval Bases are also in close proximity.

The cottage is located on School road in Kilcreggan and there is a bus stop at the bottom of the road with an hourly bus to Helensburgh. It is walking distance to mini supermarket, pub, cafe and passenger ferry to Gourock (15/20 min walk). It is also a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach.

Helensburgh is a 20/30 minute drive away and from there you can get regular trains to Glasgow and the north of Scotland. The Kilcreggan ferry which crosses to Gourock runs hourly (excluding lunch time) Monday to Saturday.

I live next door and either myself or my partner are around if there are any questions or problems. My partner speaks Spanish and French.
