The ideal Kelleys Island family vacation rental

Enjoy a relaxing week on Lake Erie's largest and most family-friendly island - Kelleys Island - the perfect getaway.

Located across from the school and library, Old Stone Place is ideally situated between downtown Kelleys Island, the state park and beach, and the island nature trails.

Old Stone Place has the feel of an old island house, with newer home amenities. The 2,000+ square foot home includes: three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one 1/2 bath, fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, smart TVs, Internet, private back yard with deck and campfire pit, gas grill and more.

Linens for all beds and towels are included. Smoking and pets are prohibited.

<<>> We are excited to be working with a new professional cleaning service this season. We believe this will enhance our guests experience. To accommodate this change check out will now be at 11am.

Peak Season - June 12th through August 20th require a 7 night, Sunday (check in) to Sunday (check out) minimum.
Non-Peak Season - 3-4 night minimum stay.

Greatest place to stay on the Island, driveway across from library, easy parking for 3 large boats. Would stay here every time if available.

Overall, nice stay for 6 adults/3 couples. Could use a little more gravel in the driveway, it got a little muddy.

It’s a very beautiful large property roomie. However, the appliances definitely need to be updated. Took me over an hour to bake a cake and the toaster only works on one side, but other than that it was beautiful.

21st annual family reunion- expanded!

We LOVE Kelley’s Island and have been coming yearly for over 20 years. As the family has grown us “kids” now have spouses etc and so there was a need for more room. This house is absolutely perfect. Great space, perfect location, adorable back deck for relaxing and a lovely kitchen for anything you need. We’ll be back!- highly recommend and great host communication.

Love Kelley’s Island

Overall house was great. Wonderfully stocked kitchen and house was clean and super nice. We had 2 concerns one being no internet consistently. Definitely don’t recommend this house if internet or work is important. Window and room air conditioners did not cool house down. Very disappointing in temperature. Master bedroom the hottest of the 3 bedrooms and one window air conditioner for entire downstairs makes no sense.

Very spacious and great location but the sheets and blankets were not on the beds we had to go find them. The grill was never cleaned after the last person. There was bugs all over the inside of the house. Black mold in the window seal. The dish washer was full and never put away. The washer had wet stuff in it when we got there. The house is beautiful but definitely needs a good cleaning. Check out online states check the paper out but when we were in process of getting trucks packed we were getting yelled at by a lady because we apparently suppose to be out by 10 but the paper said noon.

Our visit

We stayed here last year, location was decent and the house is roomy and like the fact that there are many beds. The kitchen sink drained very slowly on the right (garbage disposal side) it also backed up when we ran the dishwasher then went down. The dishwasher did not seem to wash the dishes very well. Also it seemed like something was leaking down below, a couple of things were wet but not real bad. The TV remote was no where to be found, used the one from the upstairs which turned on two tv’s so we just unplugged the one up in the bedroom. The air conditioning unit in the one bedroom was not hooked up to the exhaust out the window, would not stay so we duct taped it. We left an air fryer for the house, my daughter brought it and decided not to take it home. Both keys are where they were when we got ther, thanks hug gyy

Nice place

We have stayed here once before it is a nice place but it isn’t as well maintained as it was the last time we stayed. There were bulbs out, dishes weren’t put away, there were starburst wrappers under one of the beds, and leg on one of the chairs was about to give out. When you stay you are supposed to take your trash to the dump, the outside trash was full already when we arrived so we didn’t have an outside trash can to use. We just put our trash in the back of the truck throughout the week, but if we hadn’t had a truck it would’ve been a problem. The place was still comfortable and we all had a great time. It was just inconvenient to have to pick up when we’re trying to get settled in. The members of my party using the main bathroom upstairs were having issues getting hot water as well, so they just showered in the other shower in our room. There were minor inconveniences overall which the year prior we had none of with this property so I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. The place was still beautiful and in a great location and it had everything we needed to spend a few days on the island.

Nicole - Thank you for your feedback. We value your input and apologize for the inconvenience. Trash left behind is completely unacceptable. Please note that we have hired a new professional cleaning service for the 2023 season and are extremely confident that this will address any and all issues around cleanliness. As for light bulbs and the broken chair we will continue to evaluate ways to address these issues in between guest stays to enhance our guest experience moving forward.

Needs some upgrades

Needs some loving care. Housekeeping not done well. Fans in both bathrooms did not work and beds were not put together. Overall bedding and towels were messy. Mattresses were not comfortable.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. For 2023 we have hired a new professional cleaning service and are confident it will address these issues moving forward. The comfort of our guests is of the utmost of importance and we will evaluate the mattresses and replace where necessary. Fans have both been replaced in both bathrooms.

I have been coming to Kelleys all my life, we have family there.

This was the first year staying at this house. Was very roomy and beds for everyone was very nice. Location was good also. However, the kitchen/dining area did not have good lighting. The upstairs bathroom the water did not get hot. The master bathroom was fine for the water, didn’t understand that. The towel bars in the bathrooms fell off, could not hang a towel on them. My husband did a little fixing on the one in the master bathroom. He also fix the latch on the bedroom door, minor fixes. He’s a carpenter. We enjoyed our stay very much. As you know you have an ant problem. Again, minor.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We hired a plumber to service the hot water tank and it works much better now. Bath accessories have been fixed / replaced. We do have a professional service spray the premise for bugs 4 times per year. We will work with them to address the ant concerns. Again thank you for feedback, we rely on constructive comments to make improvements every year to provide a better experience to all.

Just a few this to look at on your end. There seams to be a lot of mice in the house. The bathroom on the left has drain issues. The room up stairs with the keyless lock should be changed.

Perfect Spot

The pictures don’t do this place justice! The house was charming and exactly what you expect from the island. The inside has been updated beautifully. Our group included 3 couples and one singleton we could’ve comfortably had more people stay. The location was nice and we really enjoyed the fire ring. We had a great time 😁

Family get away weekend

Had a great time, plenty of sleeping accommodations for everyone. Our second time renting this house, will come back for future visits. Had trouble connecting to the wi fi but that was the only problem we had. Highly recommend staying here!

Great Stay On KI

Thank you Kelly for a wonderful vaction week at your home on KI. The Old Stone House was perfect for our multi-family gathering on the island. We were centrally located with access to the rest of our family, the beach and downtown, but yet far enough away to remain pretty quiet. Love the trees and fire pit. We had a little hick up with the keys at the start of the trip, but Kelly very quickly resolved that issue. I appreciate Kelly being so quick to respond to any question we had. She is a terrific host. We will be back at KI again next year and will definitly plan on staying at the Old Stone House again.

Kelleys Island Stone House

We enjoyed staying at this large and well-equipped home on Kelleys Island located right across from the old Kelleys Island school now revamped into a community recreation facility. Upstairs was plenty of beds for 12+ with room air conditioners in each room and 2 large bathrooms with tubs and showers. House is quite shaded and stays cool but downstairs would be improved with central air. Large deck with gas grill was great too.
