Included at no cost take out 5 kayaks two doubles 3 singles 2 sup boards 1 sunfish & 1 canoe with paddles & life jackets included w house. Share some stories with friends, as you light a bon fire on the beach (plenty free firewood included) fresh sand brought in yearly to beach also outdoor patio propane Fire -pit on the deck . Snuggle up with some wine as you watch the ducks and swans turtles flow down the creek into lake. Everything you need or did not know you needed is provided in this house.

Welcome to your home away from home. This house is situated uniquely both on a lake and a 428 ft. creek. Lake opens up to Lake Michigan through the outlet. Spend some time on your private beach situated at the end of the property, which includes your own new 2025 amazing private dock and boat lift. During the spring and fall, families can enjoy the Summer Run Skamania and Steelhead Salmon that feed up through the creek Watch Eagles & Herons soar over lake in hopes of catching something. Golf Courses: Arcadia Bluffs, Pinecroft, Crystal Lake, Champion Hill, Crystal Mountain, are some great golf courses . Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Kiawah Island. Three of the most famous places to play golf in the United States, and the only three "19th holes" better than the magnificence at Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club.
The famed Adirondack chairs at Arcadia Bluffs allow visitors to sit on the lawn overlooking the 18th green, offering unlimited views of 3,100 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline. Take short drive to Sleeping Bear dunes to enjoy.
2022 came with many new features and a completely remodelled kitchen new heated flooring newly painted throughout house ceilings & walls.
The house is equipped with everything you will need during your stay, please check out the amenities page for info! A spiral staircase will lead you up to the exclusive private master suite located on the second floor, where you will wake up on a breathtaking lake & creek. The master suite includes a massive walk in closet, large private bathroom with shower two balconies attached to master suite .The main level provides two large rooms a living room & game room separated from each other with doors so if someone wants to play games while other side doesn't they don't have to hear the noise. Dining room flows into the newly remodelled kitchen. The open space is perfect for hosting large family or friend gatherings. The house and loft includes air conditioning which is rare & heat, if needed. Sleep easy knowing the whole house has a back up generator, the fun nor power will ever have to stop here (If needed priceless).

This is a great place to have your privacy and personal beach, and still be 10 minutes from everything you need and want to do. The owner was very responsive and replied immediately when we asked a few questions. Steelhead were swimming up the stream right beside the deck and you could watch them. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic house & location

This property is wonderful! The location is convenient and the house is taken care of and clean. Mike is great to work with and he goes out of his way to be a great host. We definitely want to stay here again next summer!

Frankfort Stay

Mike was easy to get a hold of if we needed anything, which wasn’t much. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. Peaceful and beautiful. We loved going out to Lake Michigan and walking the beach. Thank you.

Perfect stay!

Wonderful location and clean, comfortable house with so many amenities. Loved being able to wake up and kayak out to lake Michigan. Comfortable beds, kitchen has everything. Owner is very responsive and has great ideas for things to do in the area. Kids loved it as much as we did!

Creek/lake getaway!

Beautiful house! right on the creek! With the view of the lake! It's hard to beat the sound of the creek and the view of the lake. Short boat ride to Lake Michigan is also pretty cool! We loved the heated floors in the living room to!

Great getaway

Property was lovely and host had great communication. House/property had everything you need for a nice stay. Lower Herring Lake was sometimes a little rough for swimming on windy days, so it was great to have the creek for swimming too.

Perfect spot in the benzine county area

Access to Lake Michigan and local breweries and distilleries was perfect. Remote yet close enough to bear lake, elberta and frankfurt. Great accessible place for a wheelchair (brought a few ramps and track chair for beach access). Got pontoon for the week so enjoyed the lake but paddled as well. Place was clean and lots of beds for family that stopped in for a few days! Love the kitchen!

Great Lakeside House

Great lakeside house that had all the amenities. Mike is a gracious host and made sure that everything was perfect. The whole crowd loved being on the creek - very peaceful. We took advantage of many of Mike's suggestions and had a wonderful time! We hope to be back next year!

Excellent!!!

6 of us used this as our home base to kayak rivers & see sights in the area. The views of the lake & the creek are great. Be sure & paddle across the lake to the channel that leads to lake MI. A very relaxing place to stay. Michael went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable & taken care of. We would definitely rent this property again. Thank-you Michael!

This house is AMAZING! I wish it was for sale😍. MI was my last state to visit in the U.S. but is definitely on my top ten list and this house was perfect to see the surrounding area. The owner, Mike, was marvelous and the amenities provided for the house (way too many to list!) were awesome!!!

Unique & beautiful property with tones of amenities!

Property has a very unique features with landscape that includes both a river and a lake with great sunsets and foliage that attracts tons of butterflies and hummingbirds. Property has nice kayaks, canoe, row boat, dock for your pontoon, and a boat launch right next to the house. House and loft over garage are excellent for large groups and finishes are top notch. Host is excellent and on our stay quickly addressed issues from the previous tenant. Great stay and planning on coming back again.

Great Family Vacation

Highly recommended. Location - next to a river and facing Lower Herring Lake very unique. Lots of wildlife viewing, close to multiple awesome hiking trails, quiet and peaceful. House - spotless, high quality comfortable furnishings and appliances, lots of room (we had 6 adults ands and 2 dogs). Ammenities - something for everyone from high quality ping pong during the evenings/rainy times, bikes, kayaks, SUP's, large selection of games/books. Communication with owner great, the whole process was easy. You won't be disappointed

Beautiful, peaceful, activities provided, retreat

We had a wonderful time here. Mike is a great owner to work with, quickly responding to any questions. The property is private and beautiful. The lake is clear and calm, we felt very safe letting the kids swim, kayak, canoe, paddle board and bicycle (with supervision, of course) on the secluded roads with all the awesome "extras" provided by the generous owner. We hope to return again in the near future to explore even more of the amazing sights in the surrounding area. Thanks, Mike for sharing your amazing home with us!

Gorgeous house, spectacular views!!!

A great escape, Herring Lake is very beautiful and quiet, and the rippling stream offers a tranquility and serenity. You can hear the stream flowing from the house, it is ten feet from the patio. We saw fish, turtles and herons in the stream from the patio. Mike is great to work with, we'll be back. Pete T

Mike thought of everything!! There was nothing left out. The water toys were great and the house was very comfortable. All the little details and decorations had everyone finding something new to look at. The only recommendation was to have tile in the kitchen and bathroom

Fall Family Gathering

What a find! I feel like we won the lottery finding A River Runs Through It on Lower Herring Lake near Frankfort, MI. The house, loft and recent upgrades were amazing! The owner was very responsive and has removable ramps to make the house wheelchair accessible. The views of the lake, with its own private beach the sounds of the river and surrounding wildlife were exactly what we needed. Frankfort and other nearby towns offered a variety of options for eating out, shopping and exploring the trails. Modern conveniences surrounded by the wonder of nature. Something for everyone! A great place to make memories!

Stunning lake house for the whole family!

I stayed in this beautiful property with my husband, 2 month old, mom, and brother. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and have our own space, in addition to cozy shared spaces to spend time together. The photos of the house, yard, and lake don’t do it justice. The kitchen is spacious and beautifully updated, and the living rooms are tranquil with large windows looking out into the yard. The backyard has lots of great furniture to lounge on, beautiful flowers and landscaping, and of course the calming presence of the stream and lake. We enjoyed grilling out and using the paddle boards and kayaks, and having campfires by the lakeshore. The property is also a short drive to Frankfort, with plenty of great restaurants and shops. We highly recommend this home to other families, and will definitely be back ourselves!

Amazing stay!

What a great stay at this beautiful home in Frankfort, Michigan! The location was amazing with having the creek running through and a small beach as well. Our young kids loved playing in the sand, swimming in the shallow water, & jumping off the dock. Mike had the house fully stocked with almost anything we needed. His attention to the details was amazing. Having the all the water toys (kayaks & paddle boards) was great. We took them out almost every day! Loved taking the kayaks into the channel that went to Lake Michigan. Mike even referred someone local who we rented a pontoon from for a day. Thanks for the great recommendation! Downtown Frankfort is only about 5-10 minutes away with lots of cute shops & great restaurants. Sleeping Bear Dunes is about an hour away & well worth a visit. We loved every minute of our vacation!

Perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The flowers lining the yard to the water were beautiful, smelled delightful and attracted hummingbirds that were fun to see. Every person powered watercraft was available for our use. We enjoyed fishing from the kayaks as well as kayaking over to Lake Michigan. The side porch was a perfect place to sit and read a book with the soothing sound of flowing water. The inside was spotless and had everything you might need. The beds were incredibly comfortable. (I have NEVER said that in a rental review!) It is a great home base for golfing and hiking. Really though you could just spend the week without leaving. It's private, peaceful and a terrific spot to spend some quality family time. If you must work, the wifi is good and strong for that while others are gaming. If you have the opportunity to find an open week, book it. You will not regret it. Thanks, Mike! We hope to be back.

A place to relax and explore

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lake house. There are many reasons for that and here are a few. The house was well furnished including spices, cooking utensils, bikes, watercraft, a pound of coffee, plastic wrap, all the little things that most houses don't bother to supply. The living space above the garage was perfect for our teenage son. This property was well set up for a larger group with many places to congregate. It had 3 different outdoor areas and 3 indoor areas. The lake wasn't over developed and a kayaking trip to lake Michigan via the inlet is a must. The town of Frankfort was just down the road with it's beautiful beach, restaurants and shopping. Nearby hiking that lead to beautiful and secluded beach. The host was fantastic to work with; he made the checking in and out process so easy; he supplied a lot of information about the region and what it had to offer, which led us to the best cherry pies. I am sure we will return to this property in the future.

Perfect Place

This home is beautiful. The decor is cute and charming.The kitchen is large and updated. Also has new appliances. The cottage had plenty of room for everyone in including a wheelchair. The views are beautiful. To have a lake and creek next to the cottage was great. There are butterfly bushes that line both sides of the property. The most butterflies I have ever seen. There were plenty of canoes and kayaks. Kayaking a cross the lake to Lake Michigan is a must. Absolutely beautiful. The amenities are too numerous to list. This place has everything you need. We will definitely book this place again. Our host Mike is great and easy to work with. Like I said this place is perfect. We loved it and enjoyed our week. 9-13 to 9-24-22. Lovely lake/river location.

Plenty of sitting places outside and in for groups. Water is nice and clear. Sandy beach but shores are stoney so bring water shoes; it is shallow quiet a ways out so great for kids. Very nice nature setting by river. Phone service is spotty but Mike is as responsive as possible. Close drive to Frankfort.
