Great Home

The Glarum House was a perfect home for our family trip. It had everything we needed for our short vacation with no issues. The bedrooms are so nice and comfortable beds! So nice to have 3.5 bathrooms. We weren't on top of each other getting ready. Nice location. We were able to walk to dinner as well as across the bridge to Frankfort.

property was exactly as described. Great location close to Elberta and Frankfurt beaches. Was easy to check in and plenty of room for our whole family. 5 bedrooms plus a pull out couch in the 'second' living room. Contract said check out was at 11am but actually had to be out by 10am. Would recommend this home for any large group, plenty of room and lots of bathrooms.

The house is beautiful and was perfect for us and our adult children and our dogs. It was nice to have a small fenced in yard for the dogs, and a deck and and grill and nice outdoor space for all of us. The house has all the supplies you will need in the kitchen and bathrooms, and the beds and pillows are so comfortable! Everyday we talked about how comfortable the beds were. We walked to the local park on the lake, the Elberta farm market, and the bike/walking trail is really close to the house. We loved it!

The house was super nice and was in an excellent location! We were able to visit local beaches, the Elberta dunes , and the sleeping bear dunes easily. Beds were comfortable and no complaints about sleeping arrangements. The only negative we encountered was the dog poop in the yard that we had to clean up so the kids could play. I would stay here again!

We were delighted with our stay at the Glarum house. A delightful trip to a bygone era of place being the most important feature instead of fun and games. A beautiful setting with beauty everywhere. It is an area made for walking, very dog friendly, and quiet beautiful beaches. We and our grandchildren greatly enjoyed the eeek!

Property and service were top notch! Very large home with many amenities. Service was great, host very friendly and helpful. Had a problem with one of the windows and after calling our host, was fixed literally in 10 minutes! Would highly recommend this property and town. As a side note, Elberta Beach was our favorite over the larger and more well known Frankfort Beach. Thanks for a great stay!

The home truly met all of our needs. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds wonderfully comfortable, the bathrooms were spotless, and the dining room was perfect—everyone could gather around the table and enjoy meals together. Very cozy home with lots of space for large groups of people. Owner was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed here for a ski weekend which was a short 20 minute drive to Crystal Mountain. Great lake effect snow in January. Would go back again!

The place was very clean. It was very spacious. Easy walk to downtown restaurants. Very quite area. Short drive to Frankfurt, Beulah and surrounding area. Would definitely stay there again.

The house was in excellent condition. The owner, who lives on site was a wonderful person available with any questions or help needed. I would certainly stay again when in the area and recommend it to anyone visiting or working in that area.

We had a great stay at The Glarum House. Our family (8 of us total) was able to get away before the end of summer. The home was clean and very spacious for all of us to spread out and enjoy! We loved the big table to play games! We will be back for sure, planning our trip for next year already!

the property is well maintained, spacious and very clean. It has two first floor bedroom and has decent front door access for people needing a handrail for entry. Neighbors are very kind.

Alberta, MI Big Blue House

Had a wonderful and comfortable stay. Plenty of space for everyone. Great communication with the property manager and a warm welcome at checkin. We very much enjoyed this property and the wonderful people of Alberta and Frankfort.

Winter weekend

We really enjoyed staying at this property! There was plenty of space for all of us. The house was clean and as described in the listing. The beds were also very comfortable which was a huge plus as this is not always the case in rental properties. Would love to stay again!

The Glarum House is a Gem!

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at The Glarum House in Elberta. This historical house was updated, clean, and comfortable in every way for our family. The location is ideal as it is only a short drive to Frankfort and has easy access to two lovely beaches (Elberta & Frankfort Beach). There is so much to do in the immediate area and this house would be perfect for families traveling with children. As an added bonus, we met the owner of the house. He was so kind to our family and we learned a lot about the history of the house and area. We will definitely return here in the future and highly recommend The Glarum House.

We loved the house, accommodations, and location. It was great biking to Frankfort going to breakfast and dinner in the local restaurantsHowever, the stairs are very steep and in the main floor powder room there is a door that leads to the basement. It was not locked! None of us adults knew or expected a door that would lead to the basement. Unfortunately, we discovered it when my two-year-old grandson fell down the stairs. He was being watched by my son in the family room. He wandered into the bathroom none of us thinking anything about it and then we heard the fall.

Elberta History Meets Contemporary Comforts

This is a very nice, historical property within easy walking distance of Elberta's restaurants, marina, Waterfront Park, and Elberta Beach on Lake Michigan, and a short drive from Frankfort on the other side of Betsie Bay as well as many other Northern Michigan attractions. The house is renovated, clean, and well-maintained. Contemporary HVAC, new windows and window treatments, comfortable beds, and quality furniture contribute to a warm and cozy feeling, while tall ceilings, a grand staircase, and a piano in the foyer are some of the things that make the property feel unique and sophisticated. Communication with the management company, before, during, and after our stay was excellent. Elberta and Frankfort are experiencing a bit of a revival, but these are small towns where relationships and reputations matter; a fact that shows in the quality of this property and its management.

What a charming house! This was a perfect option for our large group getaway - rooms for everyone and lots of bathrooms…so cozy and had everything we needed. Both the owner and property manager were so friendly - we would definitely book again!
