Summary:

Located on Steps Beach in the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, home to the beautiful sunsets. The rental comes fully stocked with beach chairs, snorkel equipment, sun umbrellas, BBQ grill, organic herb garden, air conditioning, washer & dryer, games, Smart TV and WIFI. The house has 1,000 gallons of reserve water in cisterns in case of a water outage and Solar Panels with Tesla batteries for backup power. Starlink satellite internet for uninterrupted service.



The Space:

Relax at this award winning beachfront rental, located on Steps Beach in the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, only 30 minutes from the Rafael HernƔndez Airport (BQN) in Aguadilla or 2 hours from the Luiz Munoz airport (SJU) in San Juan.



Enjoy beautiful sunsets every evening, while dining outdoors on the back patio. World class snorkeling and scuba diving right in front of the house with turtles, exotic fish and the largest elkhorn coral reef in the Caribbean. Stunning views of Desecheo Island, whale sightings occur throughout the winter months and world class surfing can be had at Tres Palmas on Steps Beach. Take a short walk to other famous surf spots such as Dogmans, Maria's and Domes.



Fall asleep in the outdoor hammock, while listening to the waves crash. Enjoy organic herbs from R garden while barbequing with friends and family in the back yard. Head out to the many local restaurants and bars within walking distance. If you are looking for something to do other than surf, try scuba diving, sailing, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, yoga or a massage. There are many more activities within minutes of the house.



The house has air conditioning in both bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed. The 2nd bedroom has two double beds. The house comfortably sleeps four people, but can accommodate up to 6 people for an extra fee. There is one parking spot in the driveway on the right side.



In case of emergency, the house has over 1000 gallons of reserve water in the cistern in case of a water outage. The property has solar panels and Tesla batteries in case of a power outage. Starlink satellite wifi for uninterrupted internet connection.



Nightly minimums during holiday weeks

We are pet-friendly, but one dog only.



The owner lives upstairs and offers you privacy, but is friendly if you want to chat.

The washer and dryer are located in the casita in the front yard and shared with the owner.

There are security cameras pointed at the front and back doors for security.



Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the ground-floor rental unit, laundry room and yard.



The Neighborhood:

Safe and quiet neighborhood great for families. Walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars and activities. Located on a beach access. All beaches in Puerto Rico are public.



Getting Around:

A local taxi starts at $15 one way within town and needs to be scheduled ahead of time.

We do not have Uber or Lift.

Rental cars cost about $50/day.

We have all the major car rentals at the airports: Hudget, Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, Target and a few smaller rental agencies.

Walking is tedious, hot and difficult with many steep hills and sidewalks that are rarely maintained.



Other Things to Note:

You will be renting the 1st floor of the house. It is an apartment that has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is an additional outdoor shower that is not enclosed but offers you the ability to rinse off after a day at the beach.

The 2nd and 3rd floor of the house is occupied by the owner. He works from home but also travels frequently for work. When he is occupying the upstairs, heā€™s quiet and unobtrusive, but always available to offer advice and suggestions if you need anything.

The ground floor of the house that is the rental space is very private and secluded. The back patio and backyard that faces the ocean is yours to enjoy.



We reserve the right to cancel/limit bookings based on number of nights during Holiday weeks/weekends (3-5 days)

We are located on the western point of the island.

We are 2.5 hours from the San Juan airport (SJU), 30 minutes from Aguadilla Airport (BQN), 20 minutes from the Mayaguez airport and the Ponce airport (PSE) is 1.5 hours away.



All the major airlines fly into San Juan.

Aguadilla has daily flights on United out of Newark. And from JFK, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale on Jetblue.



To avoid the drive from San Juan, Cape Air has multiple flights daily into the Mayaguez Airport (MAZ).



Interaction with Guests:

Allison, the property manager is available by phone, text or email. She lives in the neighborhood and can always come over if needed.



Leon, the owner, has limited interaction with the renters, allowing for privacy, but he's friendly and always up for chat.

We had a great time. The house was nice. We had everything we wanted and needed. The bed was comfortable and the a/c kept us cool at night. Lots of places to eat and plenty of beaches and excursions to keep us busy. We also took time to just relax at the house on the porch swing or walk along the beach and watch the surfers. The house is well situated, right in the water. You could hear the ocean all day and night. Step right out the back yard onto the beach and walk a short distance to several local restaurants. The goat lives on the upper floors and is very quick to respond to anything you need. I would highly recommend this location!

This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay in Rincon. Steps from the beach, and walking distance to Little Malibu, where all the best restaurants in town were located. Very easy to find. Easy check in. We did not cook much but had what we needed to do a little and there was a good set of needed basic food supplies. Amazing view from the covered porch. Amazing views from the beach. Great little tide pool right in front. Great shade cover or full sun at the beach right in front! Walk off the beach to the right or left anytime of the day to snorkel (we were there in July). Owner was easy to connect with. This was our second time at this property and have stayed at another of their properties n a third occasion. We canā€™t wait to return. One of our favorite spots!

Our family loved our time at the R House! You can't get any closer to the water, just steps from the back yard. The location was really what sold us on choosing this spot. The shallow tidal pools were perfect for our youngest kid, while the older ones enjoyed snorkeling. Other places we explored around Rincon were just a short drive away. The house had everything our family of five needed to enjoy our stay. From the comfortable rooms, to all the beach amenities which made our stay more enjoyable. We'd definitely consider staying here again if we're ever in the area again.

This was my second stay at R House and it did not disappoint. The house backs up to a sweet little beach next to Steps beach. Just Perfect

The property is incredible. It is simple, perfectly nestled amongst the palms and lush vegetation that lines the shoreline. The condo itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Open windows with the pleasant sea breezes during the day and air conditioning provided for the bedrooms at night. Walk out the back door and you are just a few steps to the beach. There is great snorkeling down the beach at steps, tide pools for the babies, and scenic views everywhere you look. You can cook at home or have dinner in the nearby town. The grocery store was close by and offered everything you need. The owner was gracious and helpful. Being environmentally conscious was a bonus. Thank you for providing a safe, wonderful location for our family vacation.

Great place great location

This was a great place for us to stay for a short beach vacation. Very well equipped, comfortable bed and lots of good amenities. We enjoyed our stay and puppy chulas visits were awesome. Resident dog! The owners were friendly. The location was nice for walking and laying on beach but not ideal for swimming in the ocean. The beach front was rocky and difficult to get in the water. Not too far if you didnā€™t mind walking for easier access. There are sea urchins all over the rocks too which is part of what made it difficult to navigate. But the house was great and we had a good time. Also to note air conditioning was in bedrooms but no where else - just in case thatā€™s necessary for some. It had a great island life vibe though. Just wanted to be honest about things if there are people looking for something specific.

This is a wonderful unit in an exceptional location. Quiet neighborhood right on the beach. Apartment was clean and tastefully appointed. Kitchen was well stocked and organized. Private back patio was perfect for hanging out and the beach was absolutely beautiful with a relaxed vibe. Great snorkeling right in front of the house on calm days. Great hosts as well. Hard to imagine anyone being in anyway disappointed with this rental.

This place was tucked into a cute town on the surfing side of the island. Incredible beach step from the door for morning coffee. Walk to dinner or drinks. I highly recommend. We had my spouse and I, 3 teens (2 boys 1 girl). We were all pretty comfy.

Great for beach vacation--not a luxury listing

This is a great place to stay that's literally right on the beach. Lots of perfect amenities like an outdoor shower, tons of beach towels, a boogie board, an outdoor patio. But note that the stay is not luxury, the kitchen is basic, the furniture is basic. If that's what you're looking for (amazing beach access, basic furnishings), you honestly couldn't find a more perfect place. We loved it.

Absolutely amazing experience. The morning coffee on the beach with the soothing waves. Snorkeling around the extensive reefs of the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve right from your backyard! Great Beachside Getaway!

We had a fabulous stay at the R-House. The unit was spacious and very well stocked with everything you need for the house and the beach. We loved the location on Steps Beach, where you are only a short walk from a coral reef for snorkeling (gear provided with the house!). And the house is a short walk or drive from a number of other beaches and food options. Very quiet neighborhood made for a relaxing visit in RincĆ³n.

Leon has lived in Rincon for well over 20 years and has loved every minute of it. After moving from NYC to the beaches of Rincon, the view of palm trees never gets old. Life doesn't get any better than this. Being able to swim or surf everyday at Steps, Tres Palmas, or any of the beautiful surf spots, hear the coqui frogs singing at night with the waves crashing on the beach, watching the most spectacular sunset every night, and eating fresh fruit that falls off the trees in the neighborhood is amazing

#1 VIEWS: incredible ocean views, stunning sunset views, and views of Desecheo Island. #2 LOCATION: Located in the Tres Palmas Marie Reserve on Steps Beach, which happens to be the prettiest beach in town.
#3 PROXIMTY TO OCEAN: No need to get in the car to go swimming, snorkeling or surfing! Just walk out the door and onto the sand.

Quiet, peaceful neighborhood, Steps from the beach. Starry nights, shooting stars, sunfilled days, gorgeous sunsets. World class snorkeling and scuba diving right in front of the house. On the rare occasion some of the biggest surfing waves in the world. Hawksbill turtles living on the reef in front of the house. Swimming with turtles. Watching whales breach from the deck.
