Black Forest Mountaintop

Nestled at the top of the black forest in Upper Canyon just minutes from Downtown Ruidoso. This 3 bedroom (Master upstairs and Downstairs) with 3 bathrooms will just take your breath away. Sitting at the top of the mountain with 3 balconies having unobstructed views of Sierra Blanca and the Gorgeous Mountains of Ruidoso. The kitchen has stove, microwave, and dishwasher with an amazing view out the window of the mountains. Don't forget to bring apples to feed all the deer that come up to the balconies. Smart TV includes DVD player and just outside the front door is less than 30 feet walking distance to the entrance of the National Forest and hiking trails. Sitting at the top of the mountain you can enjoy peace and serenity away from others while being minutes from town.

This cabin was everything we hoped for and more! The location is unbeatable, tucked up in the mountains with stunning views from sunrise to sunset. It felt peaceful and private, yet it was the perfect distance from a beautiful hiking trail, which made our mornings unforgettable.Inside, the cabin was spotless and thoughtfully stocked with every amenity we could ever need. From the cozy fireplace to the fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds, everything was designed to make our stay feel effortless. You can tell the owners really care about the experience here.Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, or just breathe in some fresh mountain air, this place is exactly what you want. A great, cozy stay!

The cabin has great views, it’s pretty comfy and close to the town. Got to see the deers in the mornings and had an excellent attention from Kevin! Definitely will come back!

Beautiful cabins

We absolutely love this cabin! It was really well equipped we had everything we needed, and they had a lot of towels. The homeowner was really helpful and really nice with us. We are definitely coming back to this cabin.

Gorgeous Panoramic Views from Beautiful Home.

Gorgeous views of Mountains and valley. Attractive and well-appointed interior had a nice layout. Enjoyed the turkey's roaming the yard, not to mention nearby deer.

Perfect stay!!

We couldn’t have had a better home for our weekend! The house was perfect. The views from all the windows and patios are amazing!! We had plenty of room for our large group to lounge by the fireplace after a long day of skiing. Our group is already planning another stay! Thank you, Kevin, for a wonderful visit!

Wonderful, quiet, and awesome views in all directions. Cabin is well maintained inside and out.

We got exactly what we wanted - quiet and peaceful weekend. The hiking trail is at bottom of driveway. Be careful walking it or you will spend hours making it back to cabin

Can't beat the location

Like being in your own forest as the national forest wraps the property on 2 sides. Only 2 houses (one next door and one across the street) can be seen from the house. Yet only a couple of minutes to midtown.

Weekend getaway

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The decor of the cabin was very cute and comfy. The location was great, and the views off of the balcony could not be beat. The property manager was very fast with responding with any questions we had. We just had one complaint, it could have been cleaned better. There were cob webs in the bathrooms that seem like they have been there for a while. The downstairs shower was stained with dirty feet, but that can be an easy fix with some Ajax and elbow grease. The kitchen floor had a gob of dried up jelly. The floors looked like they could use a good cleaning, but with that being said, We would totally stay there again.

Weekend Bliss

Our family visited this charming home over the weekend, and had an amazing time. If you are looking for a place that can teleport you to your ideal stress free destination, this is it. The layout of the home lends itself for everyone in the family to enjoy themselves both together and in an individual basis all at the same time. The living room, kitchen and dining room are all next to each other, in an open plan design. We spent most of our time in this area, and it was simply perfect. For those that need to do a little work while on vacation, there is a perfect desk area right next to the dining room that lets one feel like they’re part of the togetherness while still taking care of business, if it’s completely necessary to do so. The deck areas are perfect for taking in the beautiful views of the mountaintops as you sip on your drink of choice. Our family loved this beautiful home immensely and highly recommend it. To host made the experience sublime, as he was highly communicative and understanding of our family's situation and needs. By the way there is a hiking trail within a stones throw of the property. Needless to say, this home has it all. Thank you very much,

Felt at home

We are already ready to book our next stay. Cabin was wonderful. Views were absolutely amazing. Owner was super helpful and accurate. Wonderful experience. I would recommend this particular cabin to anyone looking for a very relaxing stay in the mountains. We will be back soon.

Outstanding!

This property was nothing short of amazing! The home itself was in a great location, so beautiful, and very clean. You simply cannot beat the view, it's worth every penny! Very short distance to town. The property manager was very friendly, easy to contact, and very accommodating. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We would definitely love to rent again. Enjoy!

The pictures don’t do it justice!

You can’t get a better location in Ruidoso. The view from the back balcony is worth five stars, alone. Definitely the best owner we have ever dealt with through VRBO. If you forced me to complain about something, I’ll say that either the water or the dishwasher do leave a hazy film on the glasses, which was absolutely not a big deal. I promise, the deer and hummingbirds more than make up for it. Loved it!

I loved this place and I would definitely come back

The owner is awesome. He called me to introduce himself to us and to make sure we had his number in case we needed him. He is nothing but accommodating to his guest. The cabin itself has beautiful views and is very very comfortable. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone.

Disappointed in the cleanliness. House in general was a perfect size for us and we enjoyed our stay

Owner responded in a timely manner when questions where asked but expected you to respond immediately if something happened within the house which is understandable. Didn’t appreciate trying to be accused for some damages that we did NOT do. We stand accountable for damages WE incurred and offered to replace but never got a response. Again very disappointed in the cleanliness of house ( food spots in fridge and on kitchen cabinet doors, bathroom door dirty at knob area, trash under couch).We understand he does not go there very often and again appreciate him sharing his home .

Would definitely not rent to Roy again. He was asked about the three broken lamps only then did he admit to breaking one of them. My housekeeper said all 3 lamps were fine prior to his arrival. He left tons of trash piled up including cases of empty beer bottles. And party decorations hanging from the ceiling and lamps. It’s very clear they did not take care of my place at all and there was more than one family here. This is definitely someone I would not open my house up to again. I did not charge him fr the lamp. I just wanted an upfront answer which I did not get.

Our Family is very big and very close. We love Ruidoso so much we had a wedding there. Our cabin is more that just a vacation get away. Its become a part of our family for get together s, holidays and traditions. We have had friends and guests stay there and everyone wants to come back. Its so unique because it sits practically alone up in the mountains. If you stay 1 time you will want to come again and again.
