BUNKIE/CABIN

Separate Finished 200 sq. ft. Cabin with Bunkbeds on the water (100 ft. down shore from Main Cottage) with SE facing private Deck, Electrics, 2 set of Bunkbeds. (no shower/bathroom- yet - but the lake is perfect). Great for older kids or guests who want their own space.

Second 1921 original 8 x 16 cabin just renewed to perfection. With 4 new beds and furniture/Decor (2020).

OUTDOORS

BOAT HOUSE - one 22 ft. x 10 slip enclosed available by request. Water toys including 3-person tube, 1 person tube, 16 ft water lily raft, water skis, inflatables, two sea kayaks Docking for additional boats, and swimming entertaining 6 new Muskoka chairs.


FAR DOCK & Ramp for additional boats - being upgraded 2026.

1/4 Mile private drive - one visible neighbor across our bay.

The Rock - huge area of smooth rock and island with shallow water perfect for kids young and old to play all day. Generations have learned to swim here.

Paths from one end of the property (Main Cottage) to the other (far Dock and far swimming area).

Three parking areas (upper and lower and third by the old tennis court).

LOCATION MATTERS

Located on the North side of Stanley Bay on Lake Joe. Southern aspect means sun almost all day (7 AM until 5PM). When you feel the wind (from the South and West) it's a hot day. When you don't, the folks across the Bay feel the cool North Wind and bundle up while you sit on the deck or docks in the sun. Location is very quiet with no neighbors, and boat traffic is far off the shore.

2 hours from Toronto. 20 minutes or less by car to Lake Joe Club/Port Sandfield, Rosseau (General Store - the best! - shopping, dining, Friday Farmers Market), Minett, (The Rock, Dining, Ski Show/School, In lake Water Park, Red Leaves/Marriot). 30 minutes from Port Carling and 45 minutes from each Parry Sound, Bracebridge and Huntsville. Across the Lake from LJYC (kids sailing lessons) Marinas of Foots Bay, Gordon Bay, Hamer Bay (Rocky Crest Golf and Restaurant and Water Park) and Boat Rentals.

COTTAGE RULES
Maximum 6 Adult Guests (no parties/events) plus children
No fires (fire restrictions) - campfires at the Rock not allowed without written permission (we are very cautious on this).
No Smoking in or on the Property (fire restrictions)
Dogs & Kids that swim all day encouraged.
Flexible check in and check out times. in advance please.
Water Toys (kayaks/Inflatables) available
Boat House available on request (our boats have to be moved to Gordon Bay).

OUR TAKE

Our cottage has been our family compound for over 75 years and the land was purchased and built-on when the best property on the lake had not been taken. Now cottages have to be set back behind trees hundreds of feet up from the water on narrow lots and little acreage. This is not a summer palace (it is 2,200 sq. ft. interior) like our neighbors, but because of its age it is situated with unbelievable 4-mile views across the lake and complete privacy. We have spent the last ten years updating and modernizing and giving it new life without changing the original charm. We are constantly upgrading (new paint, new roof, counters, new hot water tank, furniture, mattresses, décor, updated the original cabin, and continue to do so yearly, kitchen, baths etc.). The paths leading to and from the cottage are granite laid stone, but the paths elsewhere are natural: pine needles, rock roots and moss!

The ideal rental would be a family who is familiar with Muskoka Cottage Life, appreciates quiet and privacy, knows there are bugs and creatures in Muskoka, enjoys the loons calling and playing in the water directly in front of you, loves the view of stars, satellites and the Milky Way at night; swimming in the warm clear clean water of Lake Joe, fishing (fly rods and spinning rods in the boat house), hiking the many forest roads, and switching off from the City to make new family time and experiences to last for years.

Dogs are welcome (what's a summer cottage without a dog?).
