The most perfect stay in a beautiful house and village

I can't wait to book again, what a beautiful house in a great location. We stayed for my dad's 80th birthday, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house comfortably slept 8 of us. The beds were comfortable, and the showers/baths were excellent. Everything worked as you'd hope. The WiFi was excellent as there was no phone signal, this was most welcome. My dad said it was the most wonderful weekend he'd ever had, and the house in this location facilitated that.

A beautiful house and location

We had a lovely weekend with family. The house was warm, comfortable and welcoming and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well laid out and had everything we needed. Blockley is a beautiful village and the local pub was great for Sunday lunch.

Lovely house in the centre of the village

A very comfortable and well-equipped house in the heart of the village. We loved the quirkiness of the old prison cells now housing the utility rooms! A very short walk to the village shop and brilliant cafe. A perfect base from which to explore this part of the Cotswolds.

What an absolutely charming property! Beautiful through and through. The flowers (magnificent peonies!) and back garden are particularly lovely. The house itself is very pretty, with a good layout, and immaculately clean. There was plenty of space for our family of seven, ranging from teenagers to grandpa. We enjoyed the large kitchen and eating in the back garden. It was very pleasant to walk about town. We were sad to depart from this picturesque home and village. Thank you!

Good location, poor parking

Great house with a pleasant garden. Bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms adequate. Easy walk to church and local pubs and store. Parking wasn’t easy with 2 spaces and the owners having three spaces in the same parking area. You had to coordinate entry and exit. That said, there was parking on the road. Owner was very helpful.

A wonderful stay!

Such a beautiful cottage! It was the perfect setting to celebrate our mothers 70th. Would highly recommend.

Birthday weekend

We were a family of 8 ranging from 73 years to 22 months. We found that the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent for village amenities and for exploring the wider Cotswolds area. We would love to return in the future.

Lovely place ideally located.

Very nice house with lots of room, ideal for 3 or 4 couples or a large family. Centrally located to a couple of pubs and a very short walk from the historic church and a great cafe/restaurant/shop. Would highly recommend. Martin was on hand the one time we needed him and the check in process was very easy.

Family get together

Overall a great stay, the kitchen would benefit from a couple of usable stools and a lick of paint everywhere otherwise a lovely cottage with plenty of room for the whole family. Would recommend.

Pre Christmas family gathering

We booked Colebrook Cottage for a family gathering the weekend before Christmas with our two adult children, their spouses and our two ‘toddler’ grandsons. The property is presented beautifully and has everything we needed in terms of bedrooms, bathrooms etc. The beautiful kitchen which is very well equipped is the ‘hub’ of the property and we ‘cooked in’ for a couple of nights whilst eating out one night at the local pub (Great Western Arms?) which is a few minutes walk away and offers good pub food, great local ales and a lovely warm welcome from Drew the landlord. We visited Stow on the Wold and also Batsford Arboretum during the stay and overall had a lovely stay at the cottage and would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay

This house was really comfortable for a family group of 7. Very clean, nicely laid out, beautiful garden and such a gorgeous village. Bit of traffic noise in the early morning when the windows are open. Kids loved the table tennis too

Exceptional property

Everything about Colebrook cottage was lovely. The house was well equipped, the beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for our group of 7. We enjoyed dinner in the beautiful garden and loved exploring the charming village of Blockley as well as all of the nearby villages.

Lovely cottage in a great location

We loved everything about Colebrook Cottage. It was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The kids loved the table tennis room. Lots of storage too, and the old cells converted to a utility space were a talking point! The village is fab, great playground for the kids, good pub a 2 minute walk away, and Blockley cafe did the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely look to stay here again next time we come to the Cotswolds.

Amazing weekend

My family and I stayed at Colebrook Cottage for a weekend for my father’s 80th birthday. The cottage itself is beautiful and very comfortable. Check in/check out was very easy and it had all the amenities we needed. Even though there were 8 of us we never felt cramped. The location is fabulous and we took lots of walks. My husband and our 16 year old son loved the games room too, a great added touch. I would definitely recommended this cottage to anyone thinking of booking a holiday in the Cotswolds and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house.

Colebrook cottage family weekend

Really Enjoyed our stay in very well equipped house in lovely village. Couple of points to consider. Logs supplied not really enough for a fire. No firefighters and the smallest amount of kindling and 4 or 5 logs. Just Seemed a little stingy and not a basket of logs against what was a superbly equipped house in every other respect. Light outside back door would be god although appreciate we perhaps should have used the front door. Had to reset all the fire alarms once kitchen one went off. Showers, decor, beds etc all great.

Excellent cottage in the village of Blockley

We are a three generational group of seven who hired the cottage for a weekend. We know the village well, so we knew that the location was ideal, being very close to the church, the shop / cafe, and the Great Western Arms, a pub serving food. The cottage is a beautiful building, brought up to date, whilst retaining it’s character. The layout of the ground floor is excellent, with a natural flow between the rooms, providing a very safe environment for children, as they can easily be seen and heard. The cottage is very well appointed, and a lot of thought has gone into making one’s stay pleasant and comfortable. A real bonus is the provision of two, off street, parking spaces. This is particularly helpful as the narrow village streets can become busy with parked cars. It also makes unloading and loading the car much easier. The kitchen is well thought out and spacious. This is most useful as everyone seemed to gravitate there! The beds were very comfortable and everybody slept extremely well. The table tennis room is a very nice touch, making it different from previous rentals. We were very lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy sitting in the beautiful garden. There is a very comfortable, relaxed, ambience at the cottage. Extremely adverse weather, prior to our visit, had affected some of the electrics. As advised in the handbook we made contact with the agent. Within minutes, we had a visit from the Landlord, who assessed the problem and immediately contacted an electrician, who attended very promptly. I was very impressed that a potential difficulty was so very quickly resolved. Instead of a drama we met two extra, very pleasant local people. They couldn’t have been more helpful. I would highly recommend Colebrook Cottage and will certainly book again when we return to Blockley.

Beautiful village, lovely house.

We had a lovely stay, the village is beautiful, very sleepy, excellent cafe/Restaurent. The house is fabulous, very spacious and the garden was beautiful. Had a fun table tennis tournament too. There was coffee, a selection of teas, even coffee pods and foil and cling film alongside other necessities which was a bonus. Situated next to a Church, which chimed on the hour, every hour throughout the night however there were fans in some of the rooms so with closed windows and fans on at night we overcame the problem. Beds were really comfy and linen and duvets etc. high quality, as were the furnishings. Some of the crockery was chipped and there were some dusty skirting boards and cobwebs, however we would definitely stay again.

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic village

Superbly decorated cottage with a fabulous garden. Everything one would require or desire for a supremely comfortable stay. A home away from home. We would come back anytime.

Beautiful property

Thank you for a lovely stay at Blockley cottage. We thought the property was absolutely beautiful, it was well equipped and the kitchen was a great social area too. The whole downstairs felt really open and well designed, and the garden area / table tennis room were both wonderful additions for being able to socialise outdoors and have fun. The property was maintained to a high spec and in excellent condition, beds were really comfy too which is always a plus. The house keeper was incredibly kind and helpful and we would very much recommend this property for a memorable stay. It felt very special and was perfect to celebrate our mums 65th birthday with family.

A perfect break.

Lovely comfortable and interesting property, set in idyllic but unspoilt Cotswold village. The facilities were excellent and the whole family enjoyed the table tennis room. We had a private caterer to celebrate a special birthday and the spacious kitchen accommodated this very well. A great location to explore the delights of the Cotswolds.
