The property is absolutely stunning and in a perfect location for exploring the region or simply staying put and relaxing. The property was very clean, and exceptionally presented. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, dishes and glasses - all of which looked brand new and none of the crockery or glass was chipped. The oven and microwave were also spotless, and even the baking trays looked new. The inside of the property has been designed brilliantly, the views across the loch while relaxing in the living area were joyous. The bedrooms were almost a mirror image of each other, with large walk-in wardrobes and plenty of room in the chests of drawers, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were modern and a choice of shower heads was available.
The hot tub was a delight, very easy to operate, and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a wonderful view. The outside of the property has been very well thought out, and the chairs were very comfortable. The fire pit in the table was amazing and gave off a remarkable amount of heat taking the chill off a cool evening. The gas barbecue was stored away in the shed and was easy to wheel out and to use. There was also a rowing boat available to use, easily accessible from the small jetty next to the property and life jackets were provided, cleverly stored in a cupboard within the property.
An abundance of wildlife surrounded the property; grebe, heron, buzzards, chaffinch, blackbirds, willow warblers, cuckoos… the birdsong was never ending. Pine martens visit the property regularly too - what a delight to witness these remarkable, rare animals up close. The single track road behind the property is rarely used and passing traffic is virtually nil.
Overall, The Sheiling is a remarkable property, beautifully designed, with a glorious grass roof, a nature lovers paradise, and a view over the loch and surrounding woodland to die for! It is a piece of mindfulness and tranquility in which to immerse oneself and a glorious place to stay.
