Beautiful Cozy Brand New Beach House

Welcome to Sunset Bay! We want our beautiful cozy home to feel welcoming and most importantly feel like a 'home away from home'. We accommodate a family or families of 8 or less. We have a beautiful view of the bay and a 3 minute walk to the clean private beach, vehicle access with in 2 minute drive. We have amazing restaurants, convenience stores, and rental entertainment within a few minutes. Coffee maker for freshly brewed morning coffee. Each room has a TV with DVD, Blue-ray player, DirectTv, and WiFi INTERNET NOW included!!!. Fully furnished with 2 Queen size beds and multiple beds to accommodate everyone comfortably. House includes new washer and dryer and outdoor shower to rinse off sand and salt :) Family pets are welcomed under 40 lbs. Outdoor patio furniture, kid inflatable pool with electric pump, new grill (with propane tank included), and fully enclosed with picket fence for the kids to enjoy! Great fishing on the beach or on the multiple beautiful bays. Sargen (East Matagorda Bay - great fishing)) 30 min away, Galveston also only 30 min away. (reg.# 10042)

House was as described EXCEPT location. Was specifically looking for a house to the right of the light and on the beach side of the highway. The house was neither. It was a few miles down and on the bay side of the highway.

The host was very responsive and check in was super easy. Very clean. We enjoyed our stay and loved the short walk it was to the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Gulf tastic!

Was easy to access and talking with the owner was simplistic! Walmart and anything you could possibly need is only 20 minutes away. They are correct when they say you need to bring your own water. Plenty of beds and room. We went to Yucca beach (15 per day to park) and also the free beach thats a couple of miles down the road. I recommend the free beach the beaches are the same and well its free, lol.At the beaches we saw crabs, baby sharks, hermit crabs, fish, and jellyfish.We will stay again.

Girls trip

We were on a budget, but this property was clean and cute, and only a 3 minute walk to the beach. I gave 5 stars because it was a great value for the price.

Such a cute house

We loved our stay there but the only thing I was disappointed about was in the picture it looks like you can see the beach from the house. The house was just big enough for our family. The owner allowed me to check in early. She was very accommodating

Cute property, close proximity to the beach.

This property was really cute and a perfect fit for a weekend girlsā€™ trip. A few tips: 1) Bring plastic ware - there is some silverware but not full sets for multiple people. 2) The photos show a bridge to the beach - note that this is across the street and to the left - we mistakenly thought it was right by the property. However, even across and over, it still took less than 4 minutes to get to a quiet part of the beach. 3) If youā€™ve never been to Surfside, just a heads up that the water is not great. It smells and Iā€™ve never tasted it, but donā€™t think I would recommend trying. Bring bottled water! Also, this house tended to have some air in the pipes so the water would spout off-color on the various faucets when first turned on ā€” this is not odd in the Surfside area so itā€™s not a ā€œnegativeā€ as it happens at other places too (Iā€™ve stayed in a number of different rentals in the area). It only took a few seconds to clear up, but I recommend not putting a your hands under the faucet or jumping in the shower until youā€™ve seen the water. Overall a great stay - would stay here again.

GREAT GET AWAY; VERY PLEASED

We have no complaints, it was a beautiful, new, very clean, comfortable home. Room for my family of 8 including grown children and grandkids. Plenty of room for us all. Nice deck and downstairs to relax and spend family time. The house is not on the beach side of the highway so we had to walk quite a distance across the highway with our grankids to the beach access. Though it sits center in a neighborhood, we felt that privacy was adequate and enjoyed the fenced in yard and privacy gate downstairs.

Missing items

We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed with some items that were not available, like towels. Also, some of the furniture chair arm was broken, the door to the bottom sink cabnet was loose, and the dryer didn't work. Some of the pots and pans were unusable.

Beautiful house, poor location description

The house is beautiful and spacious and clean other that some of the dishes.The house is located across from the beach, but you cannot see the beach. The beach is several roads down and about a 10 minute walk. The bay is beside the unit, but is not accessible. The house is beautiful, but the dryer and the dishwasher did not work.

Overall our stay was great! Had everything we needed and the kids loved the house! Plenty of room. Our only complaint was the downstairs bed being fairly uncomfortable. Sunk in on both sides from extensive use, pretty hard, and small for 2 people. Also, the listing portrayed the house as being located on the beach, but it was across the road on the bay side. So if you want a "walk out onto the beach" house; this isn't that. Its a short walk across though. But it was still lovely and we enjoyed our stay so much we booked an extra day.

Surfside stay

The property was pretty well maintained and looked very clean but none of the bed linens upstairs were clean. We found make-up and hair on them. The vacuum cleaner did not work. We were disappointed that we couldnā€™t walk out to the beach as we had at our other rentals but that was my fault. The cutlery was a motley assortment and there was no can opener, but that could have been the fault of previous tenants. We had fun and made good memories there.

I grew up in Freeport and graduated from Brazosport high school in 2000, I attended Sam Houston and graduated with a bachelors in Criminal Justice, I always wanted to help people, that was and still is a passion of mine, unfortunately I wasn't able to pursue much of a career with in the criminal justice field. I did however pursue a career with in the oil and gas industry, which is how I met my Husband. He is a petroleum engineer and a UT graduate. We have two kids now and life as parents is definitely a challenge, and it can be overwhelming at times. Since I'm a beach girl, I convinced my husband to buy a beach house for our sanity! We couldn't find the one house that felt like home, until we walked into our little beach/bay house. We instantly knew that this house would become our little vacation home. Since our lives and jobs are located in Houston, our main home remains there, we live in Spring now, but having a vacation home for our growing family is definitely a blessing for us. Since this place has already brought us so many happy memories, we would like to share our home with other families so they can also have the opportunity to create happy memories themselves. :)
