Great Time, Great Place, Great Location

The apartment was very centrally located, the space was very nice, and the views were excellent! A big plus is the private secure parking as well.

Golden moments of york

We had a great stay at this apartment, it was really clean, tidy and surprisingly spacious perfect for accommodating our whole family comfortably. The decoration was modern and tasteful, which made the place feel welcoming and cozy. We especially liked how well-designed the rooms were, offering both style and functionality. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a comfortable family-friendly place.

Attention to detail..

Myself, along with 4 other family members booked the apartment to celebrate our Daughter's university grades...On arrival ( August 17- 20th 2026,we had no problems with gaining access into the apartment, once inside the apartment looked just as the photos plenty of room and looked to be clean, however on further inspection we found it to be very dusty and a unpleasant smell from the separate bathroom next to the lounge.. stained carpets and all the headboard's had a very thick layer of dust, towels have seen better days (stained and rough) also lots of screw's ECT in drawers...(Very easy for a child to find) Fantastic location, apart from the two very large crains right outside the bedrooms. Unfortunately we where all very tired due to the construction sites ,starting up 7:30am. Please ensure that when guests are arriving, that the apartment as be fully checked, as £1200 is a lot of money to pay for us to have to start to dust , and buy cleaning products etc.

Many thanks for your review. I was very sorry to read that there were a few issues for you on the stay. We always take feedback like this seriously. All the areas you mentioned have been looked into on a visit to the apartment and the following action has been taken. A new housekeeping team is now in place at the property that we are confident will do an excellent job and maintain the high standards we require. Carpet cleaning has been booked on one of the bedroom carpets that has a visible mark. 2 packets of screws were found at the back of a bedroom drawer that were presumably left when the furniture was installed. These have now been removed. We couldn't pick up on any bathroom smells though so perhaps that was an isolated incident. With staying in the heart of a city centre, construction work can occur at times unfortunately and is out of our control. Although I do appreciate it's very unfortunate on your stay. Hopefully we see you back in York at some point as we'd love the opportunity to make any disappointment up to you.

Fabulous apartment

2nd time booking with Stays York. Travelled with 2 other couples for midweek break, everyone commented how good apartment was. Superb accommodation, well positioned and views of the Minster. Will definitely book Ryedale again.

Mini break!

Nice place to stay, good location. The beds were far too soft for us and one thing I would suggest it needs is much better fans, it was very hot in the rooms and the fans weren’t powerful enough.

Girls trip to York

The accommodation far exceeded expectations, property always looks nice on a web site but The Residence was even better in real life. Amazing views lovely terrace. Each room and bathroom spotless. If I could find one fault the coffee machine was too complicated for us to use (Nespressi may have been better choice)but as the property was so well equipped we just used a cafetière instead. The welcome hamper was very appreciated. Will definitely return

Excellent Apartment. Exactly as was first seen on line.

3 couples stayed in the Apartment. We were all happy to have a communal area for eating and entertaining but also to have our own luxurious bedrooms to retire to for some quiet time. The Apartment was clean and tidy and had everything you would need in terms of appliances and gadgets. The service from the Agency looking after the property was first class.

Another great stay @ Ryedale House

We have stayed a number of times at Ryedale House and love its location, safe and secure on site parking and the quality of the apartments. Access at the start was easy and all the instructions are clear . The Residence is a top floor flat with great views over to the Minster. It is very well furnished ( if a little blingy) and equipped with all you could need. We didn’t stay long enough to work out the coffee machine, but it looked impressive. Very comfortable beds. Great bathrooms. As with other places we have stayed here, the cleaning standard is not great and we had problems with two blocked sinks - basic stuff that should be picked up at handover. Stays were, as ever, very responsive and apologetic, but it’s frustrating that these recurring niggles could be so easily avoided. Would thoroughly recommend the Residence in particular and Ryedale House in general.

Swanky

Very nice property, exactly as described on verbo. It was clean, beautifully decorated we felt home right away. Good location, close to everything. Secure parking. The only disappointment was that we could not use the balcony due to being invested with flies, we even bought spray to chase them away but did not work. It also would be nice if the apartment would have Air Conditioning, not complaining about the beautiful weather we had but the Apt. was almost unbearable. All in all it’s a fantastic place..

Great location

Fantastic location. Mattresses need updating. Could feel the springs. Pillows also need updating. Otherwise well furnished. Would stay there again. One caveat, the unit has no A/C. We only had the living room/kitchen heat on during the day in December and were slightly warm in the bedrooms at night. I’m not sure if it would be bearable in the summer.

Good accommodation

Really nice place but there were a few things that let it down. No microwave in kitchen. Artificial spikey plants on the bedroom wall caught me in the eye and were covered in cobwebs. Socket under island did not work. Phone charging spot on the Island did not work. Something brown all over the floor in one corner of the bedroom (coffee?) Toilet too close to the wall and kept knocking the loo roll off the holder. Only get one set of door keys for three adults. Reed diffusers were too strong!

Great apartment with one issue

The apartment is very nicely furnished and laid out. It’s very convenient for walking either into the city center or to the river - we didn’t need the car unless we left town. Checking in is a bit complicated - trying to find the keys initially was a challenge but we got it. Major gripe was that the apartment was warm (July, outside temp 25) and we couldn’t open the patio doors since there is a fly infestation on the balcony. As a result the apartment always felt stuffy and warm. 4//5 since we couldn’t dine outside and open the patio doors.

Beautifully decorated and great location

The Residence is centrally located in York and beautifully decorated. For the price, I would have expected them to have provided more toilet rolls and the basics such as washing up liquid, but these seemed to be lacking. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped but was missing some essentials for a self catering property such as a measuring jug. Overall cleanliness was very good on the surface however under the sofa cushions and beds were filthy so feel the cleaners should do a more thorough clean once in a while. Beds were very comfortable apart from the middle room…if you sit on the side of the bed, the flimsy wooden slats collapse onto the floor (hence how we ended up looking under the bed!) and so one person has to hold the heavy mattress in the air while another gets on their hands and knees trying to fit the wooden slats back in place. Apart from the minor niggles above, it was a very good stay and would recommend.

Fur coat and no knickers!

The location is perfect and first impressions are that the apartment is glamorous and well set up. However once you look a little deeper things are less good. The oven needs a professional clean as it is grim and trying to hide that by putting in a liner isn’t good enough (in fact it’s gross). The oven trays were also dirty and the pieces of clean foil put on top of the dirt is appalling. I have photos that I sent to Stays. We had to wash all the crockery and cutlery that we wanted to use as not all was clean. The freezer badly needs defrosting. Don’t move the sofa cushions as again underneath is dirty. The shower in bedroom 1 needs a bit of TLC to the grout as it’s showing its age and is stained. The water in that basin was terribly slow to drain too. Only 1 loo roll per bathroom is very stingy at the price of the apartment. Overall the apartment needs a bit more time spent on regular cleaning and checking and an occasional scheduled deep clean.

Absolutely STUNNING

The apartment was beautifully decorated with modern features. It was spotless and right in the centre with almost everything within walking distance. The car park and building are both very secure. The apartment also has a lovely view of the Minster and everything was as advertised. We received a lovely hamper full of lots and lots of goodies too! I’d definitely go back to this apartment if I’m ever back in York.
