Anchors Away -

This amazing three story home with a 8'x15' heated private pool features dual living areas on both the first and second floors that both have wall mounted flat screen TVs. As you enter the home you will see the first living area which contains a sofa that doubles as a Queen Sofa Bed and also has three comfy arm chairs for seating while enjoying the aforementioned wall mounted flat screen TV. On the first floor you will also find the open dining area that is overlooked by large inviting kitchen. The dining table will seat six while the eat-in kitchen bar will seat an additional four guests. The first floor also has a bedroom with a King Size bed and access to its own private bathroom. Also, a half bath and the laundry area is located on this floor.

The second floor living area is very inviting with its sky blue walls and comfy furnishings. This living area has another Queen Sofa sleeper and also has a couple of chairs for additional seating. You will find another King bedroom with a full bathroom as well as two other bedrooms. One has a Queen Size bed and the other has two twin bunks. The Queen bedroom has a bathroom that connects to the hallway.

The third and final floor has two more bedrooms. One has a King size bed with a full Bathroom and the other has a Queen Size bed with access to its own bathroom.

First Floor: Living Room with Queen Sleeper Sofa and Patio Access, Kitchen, Dining, King Bedroom with Tub/Shower Combo, Powder Room, Laundry.

Second Floor: Bonus Den with Queen Sleeper Sofa, King Bedroom with Tub/Shower Combo, Queen Bedroom with Tub/Shower Combo, Bunk Room with Two Twin Bunks.

Third Floor: King with Tub/Shower Combo, Queen Bedroom with Tub/Shower Combo.

*Add $50.00 per day to heat pool (available Oct-April if needed)

The house needs updated. The furniture needs replaced and holes patched. The beds were very comfortable snd upon arrival the house was clean. The beach was only a couple of minutes away. Easily accessible to restaurants and shopping.

Loved being so close to the beach.

We had a great time staying here. Just about everything we needed was there (except for an ironing board to go with the iron). The list of what would and would not be provided was quite helpful in choosing what to pack and bring. Being so close to the beach and lots of the places we wanted to go was really nice.

Wonderful stay

Absolutely loved staying at Anchors Away. I couldn’t keep myself from sharing the listing info in the Destin Life Facebook group. I’m hoping that I didn’t do myself a disservice by sharing and making this too popular, if I want to book the house again. 😊

Beach Vacation

The location doesn't get much better than this!!! The setup of Anchor's Away was fantastic. Their was plenty of room for people to have their own bedroom and bathroom. When we had a small struggle with the upstairs bathroom shower drain, maintenance was there right away to fix it. The pool heater wasn't working but other than that everything was great! Would definitely stay here again.

Great home vacation!!!

Location, location, location! The house was only a few steps from the beach and very close to business around like the shopping outlets. The grill outside by the pool was falling apart and not working, but the management company came and brought a brand new one. People came to clean the house when we pointed out that the bed sheets were not clean when we got there. We were pleased with our stay at the house and can only say posite things about our stay! Also the house had enough space for our family.

great location but.... :(

the property was surface clean but the baseboards,etc were dirty, the pots / pans were not of a good quality, the bathroom and kitchen cabinets have peeling paint and need to be painted, same with the round dinning table. there was also no water in the 3rd floor bathroom shower.

Hot water issues

Nice location, nice house needs to be updated. We had 5 full baths but on day 1 only one bathroom had hot water. Contacted the property management and they sent someone out. By day 3 we finally got hot water in 3 of the showers. They said they would have maintenance check into it but never saw anyone. Had recently had bedbugs in the house and found stains on the mattress savers. Pretty for sure the bedding had not been changed and the floors were really dirty. It is a very great location but until the issues are addressed I won’t be staying in anymore of these rental properties.

Pros!!Short peaceful walk to beach. Short walk to Chick Fil A, Mall & more!! Perfect little pool out back!! Everybody has a room with bathroom!! Nice peaceful neighborhood. NOT a overcrowded beach!! Cons!!Floors. (they are getting another broom)My bed was hard like a rock. FYI 1st floor if you like hard beds. lol. Preference thing. A little uncomfortable knowing there was only one exit in the whole house. Not much parking if 18 people show up. Management suggested Geronimo RV overnight parking. Dreaming of a Elevator for this house with all the babies we had upstairs yikkes We didn’t….. WIFI in the house? OVERALL AMAZING VACATION!!!! THANK YOU OCEAN REEF

Dirty!

We were supposed to check in at 4pm but we couldn’t check in till after 5pm because they still had the maintenance/cleaners at the house. When we arrived, the house was still dirty. Sand all over the floor and blood was on the bathroom wall and baseboard. Shower handle was broken and we couldn’t use one of the bathroom shower. One of the glass light fixtures in the bedroom fell down and cracked while my son was getting dressed. I emailed them and all they offered was to send the cleaners back out. If they had the extra time from the day we were checking in and they didn’t do it right then, what were they going to do when we were all in the house. Overall just not clean. Location to the beach was great.

Nice house, but...

This house and location have problems. First, do not schedule if it is supposed to rain, because the street in front gets flooded and you can't use your vehicles, and you walk in dirty polluted water to the beach (with trash floating on the surface). The manager called the rain a "monsoon" but since when does it not rain in Florida heavily? The manager said they (the city) are working on the flooding, but it has been going on for years because the trash bins across the street are all raised up to be out of the water; down the street they aren't raised. Secondly, there was dust on all the decorative hangings in every room and bathroom; the kind that if you touch it leaves a good heap on your fingers and you are afraid more will fall down! Thirdly, the couches are pretty worn looking. Ok, it's a beach house, but they need replacing. Fourth, the beds were lumpy and the mattresses need either replacing or rotating periodically. Fifth, the walk to the beach, when their wasn't polluted water in the street, was excellent: about 3 minutes and no gates or even dunes to cross over. This is the best feature. Sixth, no beach views or good balcony views since they either look on the house next door or the huge 8 story condominium across the street. Can't hear the waves either. But that wasn't promised in the listing.

Trash Island

I would not come back here if you paid me. The house was not clean when we checked in and there were no cleaning supplies. We had to by items to clean the place up. The toilet was dirty and there was vomit or food on one of the remotes. Spent the first day of the vacation sweeping, vacuuming and cleaning this place up. That was just the inside. There are two catch basins on the street that are backed up, so the street floods. It seems that some people just piled up there trash and that was floating in the flooded street. We called and talked to the property owner and they said it’s a city issue and someone from the city would come by at some point. After 3 days the city came by and kind of cleaned the trash up. We even picked up trash and the landscapers picked up garbage. There was garbage up the driveways and all around the pool in the back. Broken glass and cigarette butts every where. If you know this is a problem, work with the other property owners on the street to get a dumpster or find a different solution. Just leaving trash all up and down the street is disgusting and shameful. They also need to clean the dryer exhaust, and replace the air filters. This place is just doing the bare minimum and charging people a lot of money. The beach even had trash everywhere. No way would I ever go back to Destin or stay in this place.
