Charming cottage in the heart of Whitstable - Peace Cottage

The aptly named Peace Cottage provides a calm and peaceful place to relax and unwind. Located on Whitstable's popular Island Wall, the cottage is set back from the street and whilst it is just a few steps to the beach and only a few more to the vibrant town centre, the cottage is a little haven, especially when in the pretty cottage garden. It even has sea views from two of the bedrooms.

The cottage has a cosy sitting room, and a large open plan kitchen / dining room with bifold doors that open out onto the garden, creating a fabulous sociable area for relaxing and entertaining with family and friends. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and another bedroom on the second floor. Both Kingsize bedrooms benefit from luxury memory foam mattresses made by Emma.

Peace Cottage is perfectly located between the seafront and the high street with its abundance of friendly and lively cafes, restaurants, pubs and boutique shops. Whitstable also has a thriving arts scene and live music is a popular feature in many of the pubs.

Fantastic cottage, great location

The location is perfect. The house is nice and comfortable and has everything you need for your stay there. On sunny days it’s a joy to open up the back of the house. Just a five minute walk from the city center. Very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is practical and has everything you need.

Excellent location for a week's stay in Whitstable. Very cosy with well equipped kitchen. The shower could do with upgrading and also the pillows but bed comfortable and we all slept soundly. As previous guests have noted, the stairs are a bit tricky. A lovely cottage in a beautiful town.

Lovely fisherman’s cottage

We had a wonderful week at half term. Cute old cottage with sea view in the best location. It was very warm and cosy even in February and has an electric fireplace which was a bonus. Beds very comfy and has everything you could need. The only slight negatives for us was the decor and furnishings felt a bit tired and the shower isn’t very good. Also just as a heads up but there’s zero soundproofing between rooms if you’d planned on a lie in but we should have expected that in this type of cottage so our bad! We loved this cottage however and we had a great holiday Thankyou!

Very comfortable cottage, very close to all the amenities. Lots of places to eat, we tried The Neptune, The Smack Inn, tea and times and the corner cate.

Great beach front location!

We enjoyed our stay at Peace Cottage. The cottage itself was lovely, light and comfortable. The location was perfect, just metres from the beach and close to shops. We enjoyed the walks to neighbouring villages along the coast and thoroughly recharged during our restful break!

Lovely location.

The property is a10 second walk from the beach and 2 minutes from the town, so a perfect location. Although a fisherman's cottage the back extension gives it ample space, however the stairs are very steep and nartow

Nice cottage; great location.

We had a very enjoyable week at Peace Cottage. Great location and a comfortable cottage. I would make a couple of small observations/criticisms: -The parking restrictions were a little inconvenient but this was made clear in the booking instructions, so it wasn’t unexpected. -A single loo and bathroom in a house sleeping six is a bit of a stretch. -The quality of the pillows and duvets was pretty poor. I would have expected these to have been better. But these are minor comments in what was an enjoyable stay.

Perfect location and lovely cottage

Peace Cottage is perfectly placed to make the most of beautiful Whitstable. The view of the beach and the sunsets from the upstairs windows was just gorgeous, it's less than a minute walk to the beach and only a few minutes walk from Sainsbury's for provisions if you want to cook in the well equipped kitchen, or plenty of lovely bars and restaurants if you want to eat out. The furnishings were really comfortable and modern, whilst still in keeping with the heritage of the cottage. It would be really helpful to have use of a residents parking permit, as we found parking difficult and expensive if we couldn't get on-street parking spots, and we weren't even there in the school holidays! But apart from that, we loved it.

Great location

A lovely home which is 10 metres from the sea front so you can hear the sea at night. This is an old property so the stairs are precarious at times, particularly if you are tall. The sound insulation is also an issue. We were less impressed by the cleanliness of the property- there were cobwebs in a lot of rooms and a hoover had not seen beneath the sofa in some time. It was expensive

3 nights at Peace Cottage

I was excited to finally book a stay with Keepers Cottages who I follow on social media and id promised myself I’d treat myself to a stay in one of their properties. I’m afraid Peace Cottage did not look as good in real life as it did in the photographs! The upstairs was fine actually but the sitting room ( particularly) felt a bit dirty. The cleaning in there and the kitchen was below the standard I would have expected. The skirting boards were filthy and there were crumbs on the worktops. The garden is so overgrown that it is unusable and no table and chairs for outdoor dining etc. The position of the house is fantastic which made up for its shortcomings in a way but though we had a lovely time I couldn’t help feeling rather disappointed with the cottage. I suppose it’s one of your “cheaper” ones but I think you need to have a word with the owners about the furniture and cleanliness. Sorry to be negative but you did ask for a review!

Peace Cottage Whistable

The cottage was in an excellent location for both the beach and shops. The cottage was well stocked with all kitchen and beach equipment you would need. We had a great time but the let down was the general tiredness of the cottage which was not as clean as we would have hoped. The garden was very overgrown and whilst great for our dog could not be sat in with rotten apples everywhere and dirty garden furniture. The pictures advertising the cottage are not reflective of the tiredness and with changes in furniture, the garden and the kitchen colour do not show the cottage as it is now. In addition the stairs are extremely steep which we had not appreciated and our dog fell down them and was caught by my husband we could then not let him near the stairs and this would have been similar for small children. This review is not meant to be negative as the location was perfect and we would come back to Kent and keepers cottages were excellent and very efficient but would not stay at Peace Cottage again

Wundervoller Aufenthalt

Wir haben eine traumhafte Woche in derm perfekt gelegenen kleinen Fischercottage mit Meerblick verbracht, alles wr super sauber und sehr liebevolll für unsere Ankunft vorbereitet. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, man findet sehr gut in fußläufiger Enfernung gebührenfreien Parkplätze. Wir haben die kleinen Garten genossen und auch mit sechs Erwachsenen ausreichen Platz gehabt und in der perfekt ausgestatteten Küche sehr gut kochen können. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
