Birchgate - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

As you enter the property you will be greeted by the well equipped fully fitted kitchen diner with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, microwave and electric oven and hob. A farmhouse table and chairs complete this traditionally decorated room. Under stair storage provides plenty of room for boots and coats.

The pretty lounge has a comfortable two seater sofa and two easy chairs, Smart TV and an open fire perfect for those cosy nights in!

Upstairs, the double bedroom has a king size bed and is beautifully furnished with cottage bedding and matching pine furniture - room for a cot if required.

The charming twin bedroom has two single beds, pine furniture and a lovely decorative feature fireplace. Both bedrooms will be dressed in luxury linen and towels for your arrival.

The bathroom is traditional with w.c., wash basin, bath with shower over, airing cupboard and is fully tiled.

Outside to the front is an enclosed garden, equipped with dining furniture and chiminea. Outdoor cushions and lantern are provided for your enjoyment. To the rear there is another small south facing garden with more dining furniture and private parking for one car.

The cottage is situated in a very quiet row of cottages with no through traffic passing.Towels and bed linen and provided. Wi-fi is available at the cottage free of charge.

This is a comfortable, clean cottage in a very convenient location for Keswick town centre and Fitz Park. There was an issue with the garden which was dealt with efficiently and well.

We had a lovely time at Birchgate. The cottage is comfortable and very conveniently situated. Our only problem was finding the cottage when we first arrived.

Great Cottage for the three of us!

This cottage suited us very well. We have a Fiesta - so that made it easier to navigate the lane and drive!! But having your own parking space was fabulous. The oven is a bit complicated - you need to google it for instructions!! And the freezer is in the cupboard under the stairs - a bit of hide-and-seek to find it!! Apart from that it was great!!

Excellent stay in an excellent cottage.

Stayed for a week at Birchgate and had no issues at all. The cottage is situated 5 minutes from the centre of Keswick and has the benefit of its own parking space. Everything you would need for a comfortable stay is provided including a welcome box for our two dogs. All in all a great cottage in an absolutely astounding part of the country.

Had another great stay at Birchgate, been coming here for over 10 years now, so convenient for the town centre and as a base for enjoying the Lakes.

Birchgate stay

A lovely cosy cottage close to Fitz park and the town centre. Beautifully furnished throughout. Could just do with a tea tray and some subtle lighting in the kitchen.

Our third time at Birchwood

We really like this cottage, it is dog friendly and has a real fire. We have stayed three times already so it feels like a second home. We love Keswick and the people there. We will book again next year.

Another lovely week at Birchgate

A cosy, convenient and comfortable cottage. Carefully maintained, warm and welcoming, we have visited regularly for several years. Highly recommended.

Ideal location for walks in and around Keswick. The cottage was perfect for the two of us with the added advantage of off road parking.

Brief time in Keswick

Lovely cottage a short walk from the main attractions of Keswick. We were staying for work just for 2 nights. The cottage was cosy, really well presented and very comfortable. We brought our dogs - this was a cottage that said it was dog friendly and actually was! Dog bowls available for borrowing and little doggie welcome packs! We would definitely return.

Fantastic break

Our 11th stay at Birchgate

We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Keswick. The cottage has everything we need for a great Holiday. We are coming back in November and have already booked for Spring 2026 too. The cottage is very comfortable, in an ideal location and has everything you need for a great stay.

Another wonderful stay

Birchgate is like home from home. Great location, quiet area and close to the town and good walks. We've been coming every year since 2015 and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Keswick Cottages staff are very good, quick and professional in what they do. They are always available should you need them. Loved the new front and back doors. Loved everything. The dog box is a lovely addition, seen for the first time last year. Our 13th visit to Birchgate - lucky for us! Already booked for next year's visit - can't wait.

Well positioned, good for small damilies

House is well situated, very near the park and a short walk to town. Access & parking is tight for cars but manageable. Lots of great walks nearby. Good shower, house was clean & good welcome pack.

February Break

This is our second stay at Birchgate. It is a great place to stay. Well equipped and comfortable. The garden is secure for our dog. In the town centre so easy to get to the local shops and cafes.
