Main Description
Harbour House Apartment is divided over two levels; on the first floor there is an open plan kitchen and dining area, a separate toilet, a separate sitting room with French windows leading onto a balcony overlooking the harbour. The two bedrooms are located on the second floor - one king-size and one twin room and a family bathroom with shower.

Appliances and equipment
Harbour House Apartment has a small galley open plan kitchen with fridge-freezer, microwave, electric cooker, toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. A hair dryer, fan, iron and ironing board are stored upstairs.
A Smart television (connected to our wifi) is set up and ready for you to watch Freeview or log into your own Netflix, Youtube or other App accounts (use and viewing is from your own account/s and at your own pay-per-view cost/s). Good wifi broadband is available throughout the property.
Electricity and heating
The building is all electric (no gas). Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Harbour House has been refurbished and has eco-friendly timer/manual overide panel wall heaters. There is a thermostat controlled heated towel rail in the bathroom.
Bathroom: The airing cupboard on the landing has the various control switches for the bathroom light/fan/towel rail/hot water timer and shower.
Linen and towels
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels on day trips.
Other provisions
A small selection of teas, coffee and sugar are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. We are happy to provide milk from our own supply on request. There may be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs/spices available. A Henry Hoover is available on request, cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Toilet rolls, kitchen towel, bin bags are provided for your stay.
Parking
A designated car parking space is available for one car clearly sign-posted 'Harbour House Apartment Parking' at the rear of the building. A large private (pay and display) car park is within a short distance for additional vehicles.
Outside the property
Harbour House has a balcony with a bistro table and 4 garden chairs for you to sit, relax and watch harbour life (accessed via the sitting room).
Dogs
Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome for a supplement of £20 per dog (strictly 2 dogs maximum per booking). Please follow our dog house rules, cleanliness after walks, bring your own dog beds/blankets/towels etc and keep them off the furniture and beds please.
Smoking
Harbour House is strictly non-smoking/non-vaping.
Arrival and departure
The property will be ready from 4pm (no earlier) on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.
Early arrivals
You are welcome to arrive anytime after midday, park in your car space and start your break early until the apartment is ready at 4pm. The Bottom Ship Pub is usually open or our own Harbour House Coffee Shop next door is open until 5pm.
Changeover days
Harbour House is available for weekly breaks during peak periods and short breaks at other seasonal times. We have opened up the booking calendar to accommodate varying lengths of stay and check-in/departure-days at off-peak times. If you cannot get the dates you want, please email your request.

Parking
There is one allocated parking space for Harbour House, a short distance from the front door. If you have a second car or visitors, there is a pay and display car park very nearby.
Pets Description
We are dog friendly and Porlock Weir is super dog friendly with great walks and two dog toilet bins on site! Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome. Please bring your own dog bedding, towels, wipes, food etc. Optional stair gates are on site to restrict access from the lower floor to the upper floor bedrooms.

Porlock Weir is a picturesque harbour village on the Exmoor National Park coastline in Somerset, with a history stretching back to the 15th century. The small tidal harbour, with its ancient lock gates and pebble beach, sits at the heart of a thriving community.
You'll find a welcoming pub, restaurants ranging from relaxed dining to Michelin-listed Italian cuisine, cosy cafes, and a popular street food takeaway -- all within walking distance of the harbour. Independent shops and galleries line the lanes, including Exmoor Glass, the Harbour Gallery, and Porlock Bay Oysters, which opened expanded premises in 2024.
The larger village of Porlock is approximately one mile away and has a broader range of amenities including grocery shops, a traditional butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre, and a selection of independent restaurants and tea rooms. Most shops in Porlock and Porlock Weir keep hours of 9am to 5pm, often extending during the summer season.
Porlock Weir was recently used as a filming location for The Salt Path, the adaptation of Raynor Winn's bestselling memoir about walking the South West Coast Path.
