Nice one bedroom apartment for rent in Florence. This house is called Pinocchio because a few steps from here is the birthplace of Carlo Collodi, the writer of the Adventures of Pinocchio. The house is located on the first floor of a typical building located in the heart of the historic center within walking distance of all the main monuments of the city. Perfect for a family on vacation, this cozy apartment consists of a living room, kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The apartment is equipped with washing machine, air conditioning and Wi-Fi internet.

We loved our stay! The place had so much character and was such a convenient location. The only issue was the smell that was coming from the bathroom… maybe just old pipes but it was pretty bad. Luckily our VRBO contact brought us air freshener but it definitely needs to be fixed.

In great walking distance to the train and to all of Florence. The host was very communicative and helpful with the check in process. The bed was clean and the sheets were clean, having AC was a nice perk.

Great location, clean. The bathroom shower drain does smell, we also noticed our laundry smelled once we had left. The location is great if you plan to do a lot in Centro and need quick access to the train station. The mercato centrale is really fun near by, as well as access to grocery store and the museum David is in.

Great place to stay

Place was clean. Close to many of the attractions. They were very accommodating for early check-in. Enjoyed staying at Pinocchio house.

Great Location, but Urgent Update NeededI want to give a completely honest review of this apartment. We stayed for four nights.The apartment was clean, but the furniture desperately needs an urgent update. The sofa is extremely old, sags terribly, and really needs to be replved! The dining table is far too large for the living room and not too stable. The kitchen itself is okay, but the table and stools made it almost impossible to access the kitchen area—we actually had to rearrange the space to make it comfortable.The kitchen utensils are too basic. The coffee machine didn't work, and there wasn't even a bottle opener or corkscrew. We ended up buying one and left it there for future guests.Additionally, I'm concerned there might be termites or woodworm in the living room ceiling and above the bedroom bed, as we constantly found sawdust/sand-like debris falling down (and Florence doesn't have a beach!).The wifi was extremely slow and sometimes we would not have internet. My advice to the property owner: please change the sofa and a few other living room pieces. Also, reconsider the bathroom cabinet unit, as we kept bumping into it when getting up from the toilet.Now for the positives:The location is a solid 10/10. It's close to everything, yet not on an extremely noisy street. The host responded very quickly to all our messages, and the concierge was very kind and punctual.

I will explain my rating as if I am you, the reader, deciding if you’re going to book the property or not. You are considering this property because of the price and location. Let me tell you: the location is ideal. It was 10-20 minutes anywhere we wanted to walk, and felt safe even coming back late at night. The bathroom and kitchen have been renovated and were nice. And, the communication from the property manager was prompt, and she was only five minutes late meeting us at the property the first day.However, the good things end there. First, the place smelled rank, like sewage or litter. We aired out the windows and it didn’t touch the smell. It was so bad you’d wake up and notice it all over again. The washing machine wrecked my white pants. The upstairs and adjacent neighbors were comically loud: screaming, banging, laughing, yelling… I messaged the manager and she said she’d talk to the agent, but there was no change. Also, the WiFi regularly went out, which made it unreliable for mandatory video calls I had to attend. The sofa bed was sagging terribly. Finally, when we arrived, the cleaner was still there, so he was rushed leaving and did not finish the floors. They were filthy and our socks proved it. If you made it this far, just pay the extra 75 a night and get something nicer. Florence is too beautiful to be sleeping in a dank and sad environment. The only good effect was, we spent as little time there as possible, so we saw more of the city.

Stay at Pinocchio

Overall our stay was a positive experience. The only problem we had, we were told we could drop off our bags and collect the keys to the property at 11am. I sent a message to confirm. The night before, and also1 before arrival. We never recieved a response. When we arrived I contacted the host who told me check in is at 2pm. I was then given the number to contact someone else for check in. This was very frustrating and resulted in us scrambling to find someplace to store our luggage. Once we were checked in we didn't have any other problem. One thing I will mention is the bed is not that comfortable. Over all great location snd a value at the price.

Nice space. Definitely need bedside lamps because the main light right above the bed is too bright for your eyes. Sofa is too low and difficult to get up from. Kids upstairs bang and run much of the time. Well located. Windows are very old and don't close because of layers of paint.

Location of this property was great. Easily accessible and walking distance to everything. Unfortunately that’s the only going for it. It had a horrible overwhelming smell that was not the “standard” water smell you find in Italy. They did have an air freshener to try and cover it up but only made it worse. The sofa bed was honestly the worst thing I have ever slept on and contacted the host about it and was basically brushed off. I would have just slept on the floor but I don’t think the carpet had ever been vacuumed. The kitchen was not equipped with an over or microwave, so “cooking” anything was tough unless you could do it in a pot. The unit did have great air conditioning, so that was definitely a bonus, but because of the horrible smells we had to keep all the windows open so it defeated the purpose of using the a/c. Overall I personally would not stay here again. And I hope the host will take the time to properly clean the unit for future guests and upgrade the sofa couch or list it for 2 people only.
