Sobre esta propriedade

House in an olive grove

Built in 2004, completed in 2007. The owner is a woman. She is an architect—a very strong, curious, and unstoppable woman. Last but not least, she is a mother of two and a grandmother of five.

The house itself reflects its owner’s big and independent spirit, seeking peace and nature. It spans 580 square meters in total, of which 385 square meters are available for rent. Nestled in the countryside, it was designed to preserve the spirit of the place, respect local traditions, and embrace modernity.
The building has been thoughtfully situated in a hilly, completely untouched rural setting, filled with marvelous fifty-year-old olive trees, in Abruzzo, just 10 minutes from the city of Pescara (and Abruzzo Airport).

The architect’s philosophy was very clear: to build her house as if it were part of the existing natural landscape—a gentle addition rather than a presumptuous one.
This was an unusual approach for an architectural project at the time, as almost everyone else sought to be radically innovative. Her strong desire to preserve nature and to avoid cutting down or moving any of the olive trees already on the site led to a design consisting of three white, traditional-looking masonry buildings, connected to one another by a modern central structure made of glass. In front of this central structure is a patio made of iron and solid wood. Above is a terrace with a rooftop garden.

Another defining feature is the integration of the buildings into the natural contours of the land, thereby allowing access from different elevations. In fact, today it appears as though the buildings have been “lowered” from above, nestled among the olive trees, without disrupting the existing balance and transforming these areas into new living spaces.

Traditional materials were used in the construction, with the various buildings featuring solid wood structures incorporating a traditional truss and a floor with structural beams. This structure creates a pleasing sequence of beams that extends to the exterior portico.

The architectural studio and the house were designed as a single entity. The studio is located on the top floor of the house. The final addition to the project was a panoramic swimming pool, completed in 2025. Shared by both villas and seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape, it is surrounded by spacious sun terraces and framed by centuries-old olive groves and rolling hills, creating a peaceful retreat where guests can fully unwind.

When we booked this home for a vacation stop in the Abruzzo region we could see from the pictures how lovely the house was. What we couldn’t believe was when we walked in the door and glimpsed at the spectacular rooms, views, amenities. The house and grounds were more beautiful than the photos. We wish we could’ve stayed longer but alas amazing things come to an end. If you have any hesitation on renting this home, don’t hesitate! It’s a 5 star stay and your host and family are the best too! We’ll return! That’s promise!

We are a family who fell in love with the beauty and authenticity of Abruzzo and decided to share it with others. Casa Oliveto was born from our dream of creating a place where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, and feel genuinely at home.

We love welcoming guests from all over the world and sharing our favourite places, local traditions, and hidden gems. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or simply a peaceful escape among the olive trees, we want your stay to become a memory you’ll always carry with you.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

We couldn’t imagine a better location. Set among rolling olive groves, Casa Oliveto offers the peace of the countryside while being just 15 minutes from Pescara, the Adriatic Sea, and the airport.

One of the things we love most is how easy it is to experience two different worlds in one day: enjoy the beach in the morning, explore medieval villages in the afternoon, or hike in the Majella or Gran Sasso National Parks before returning to the quiet of the hills. It’s the perfect base for discovering the authentic soul of Abruzzo.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Casa Oliveto is a place where nature, privacy, and genuine hospitality come together. Nestled among five hectares of organic olive groves, it offers the rare feeling of having space all around you, with peaceful walks through the trees and breathtaking views stretching from the Majella and Gran Sasso mountains to the Adriatic Sea.

Although immersed in the countryside, you’re just 15 minutes from Pescara, the beach, and the airport, making it easy to enjoy both the sea and the mountains in the same day.

Every outdoor space has been carefully designed to offer privacy, so guests can truly relax while still enjoying the warm, personal welcome of a family who loves sharing the beauty and traditions of Abruzzo. We don’t simply offer a place to stay, we love creating an authentic experience where guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.
