Ripon Hideaway

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Ripon within walking distance of Cathedral and shops, pubs and restaurants this is a clean, comfy well equipped hideaway, A perfect location for a couple wanting to make the most of this region. Many attractions of N. Yorkshire are but a short drive away. We shall certainly be returning next year.

Excellent cottage close to the centre of Ripon.

Very comfortable little cottage for two people, with quality facilities. The arrival pack of goodies are second to none. Secluded off road car parking. Excellent location, 10 minutes walk to Ripon one way, 40 minutes walk to Fountains Abbey (National Trust) the other. If you have a dog, Hell Wath Nature Reserve, the river bank footpaths and Ripon canal are all places to use. Great place to stay, recommended.

A home away from home

This was our fourth stay at The Hay Loft, and hopefully it won’t be our last. It’s simply a perfect cottage for two, full of charm and with wonderful hosts. The walled garden and off-street parking is a major bonus.

Another great stay!

This was our second visit - very well received - the house is ideally located and perfect for a couple. Pete and Katharine were very pleasant hosts. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to return.

A lovely stay in Ripon

We loved our time in Ripon, it was a lovely place with quite a few options for pubs, restaurants and places to explore, all within walking distance. The cottage itself was beautiful, well equipped and spotlessly clean, and Katharine made us, and our dog, feel very welcome. We can't recommend the Hayloft enough, if we are back in Ripon, we will definitely book it again, 5 stars! :-)

We had a perfect 5 night stay in this little gem.The Hay loft is a cute, cozy and comfortable rental with friendly owners.Easy communication before and during our stay. Self check in with lockbox.Little treats left by owners.Spotlessly clean.High quality bed linens, pillows and towels. Comfy bed. Powerful shower.Comfortable chair and couch downstairs.Benefited from private off road parking large enough for my pickup truck, and could still have fitted another car.Small private walled courtyard was handy for the dog, and for late afternoon drinks as it caught the sun.We turned off the modern central heating and used the wood burner to make things even more romantic and cosy of an evening.Tucked away, but still less than a mile walk to the town.Plenty of countryside walks straight from the front door.Highly recommended, and we hope to stay again in the future.

Excellent location for Ripon and the Dales

A lovely warm welcome from the owners. Everything you need in the cottage. Excellent facilities and constant hot water. Very clean and comfortable.

Great place to stay!

The property was very much as described and met all our expectations. The positive reviews we had read were clearly accurate. Well equipped, well located and the owners were super friendly and helpful. The welcome treats were also very much appreciated. I'd book again without hesitation.

From the warm greeting to the lovely Welcome Basket - from the comfort and cosiness of the cottage to its lovely setting - the Hay Loft has been our "go to" cottage for a long time - and long may it be so!

Excellent holiday

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hayloft, it is really well situated with easy access to Ripon and then the wider Yorkshire area with lots of lovely walks/attractions within easy reach. Katharine the host was lovely and the recommendations in the visitors book were excellent. We would definitely recommend the Hayloft for relaxed getaways and would definitely return

Beautiful Property

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hayloft. An easy walk into Ripon and perfectly situated to access the countryside. The hosts, Katharine and Pete were extremely hospitable and available. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others.

Lovely place

Great place for 2 people, very comfortable and welcoming. Great situation with a lovely city and walks on your doorstep. Owners very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Excellent home baking treats and beers on arrival.

Lovely cottage with a personal touch

Perfect for two, if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and to explore the Moors and Dales, or just to enjoy Ripon and its surroundings. Has everything you could possibly want or need. The owners are super nice! We would love to come back.

Perfect place to stay when visiting Ripon

A lovely find and warm welcome from host Katharine. Lovely fresh flowers and lots of treats, including homemade shortbread and Yorkshire tea loaf. Comfortable and cosy with lovely courtyard. Only 10 minute walk to centre of Ripon. Would highly recommend the Hay Loft

Cosy and comfortable cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hayloft - the owner was so kind and helpful to make our stay perfect. We enjoyed the suggested walks from the cottage in the beautiful countryside to Fountains Abbey and we were so lucky with the weather. The delicious treats left in the cottage, the lovely fresh flowers, the fantastic log burner all added to our perfect stay. We will be back.

November in the Hay Loft

What a gem the Hay Loft is! A wonderful cosy hideaway close to Ripon town centre but with walks from the doorstep. Beautifully kept and presented, with a plentiful supply of logs for the fire. We only had a short break, but it was wonderful. Many thanks indeed to Katharine and Pete - a great place to stay!

A delight......

How fortunate we were to be able to book this holiday at quite short notice. Everything was excellent - the welcoming roses from our Host's garden, the home baking, the treats - and the cottage itself could simply not be better for us. Peter and I are very grateful and of course plan to return......
