Beautiful house, great hosts

A beautiful house, lovely location, friendly and helpful hosts next door. Definitely the best equipped holiday rental I've ever stayed in, the kitchen had everything! Lots of space for our blended family group to enjoy, very clean and well presented. Lovely beaches nearby, Blackpool Sands and Strete Gate. The sea was clean and warm for swimming. The lanes to the property are narrow but it is Devon, so to be expected. Our rented VW van was fine, just be prepared to reverse if you meet another car!

Great family holiday

An excellent place to stay with an extended family group. Warm and cosy although spacious.The cottage has such a sociable living space with lovely views of the garden, and separate lounge worked well for the children to have tv and games. We loved the art work and thoughtful design touches throughout the house and garden.

A wonderful property

Barberry Farm Cottage is absolutely wonderful. It has charm, luxury and is incredibly cosy. Perfect for our family gathering of 8 and everyone had a beautiful room and bathroom. The aga and woodturner are especially lovely as is the open plan kitchen and dining space. Situated in a stunning valley with just the sound of birds, a woodpecker and a brook and a delightful garden space. Really friendly and very helpful owners, thank you Georgia and Bob. I would highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to have a relaxing break, simply gorgeous.

Lovely property for a family break with a warm welcome from Bob & Georgia. Pretty much all that we needed was at hand and the garden provided a wonderful place to relax

The cottage was a beautiful oasis for us to hang out and disconnect for an extended weekend. The yard is lovely and rooms are all a nice size. The hosts were extremely responsive, helpful and accommodating, especially when we accidentally misread our check out time and then struggled to find a taxi. Aside from the property, we'd recommend renting a car or using your own, if you plan to go to areas such as Dartmouth, or plan to get groceries during your stay as some taxi companies are individuals or companies with few car and can take over an hour to come.

Beautiful house in a stunning location

Had the most amazing mini break in this wonderful home which is in a stunning location. Fabulous space for a family get together, cannot recommend highly enough. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Can't wait to book a return visit.

Wonderful Few Days

Our hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. The house provided perfect accommodation for our large group with a wonderful social kitchen / dining area. Gardens are beautiful and the cottage is a pleasant walk to the village of Dittisham.

Idylic break in the Dart Valley

Our family (comprising of three almost grown up children 16 - 21 yrs) couldn't fault this property. We loved our stay. It was perfect for our spaniel with lots of private lawn, creek and pond to run about in, the house was spacious and extremely well thought out in terms of design and feel. Great for cooking and using the BBQ, also for relaxing and hanging out. It was the perfect base to explore the beautiful surrounding area with great walks and trips. We can't recommend this property enough - our only hesitation is that if we do it'll get too popular! Big thank you to our hosts Bob and Georgia who were extremely attentive and helpful!

Lovely place to stay for family holiday

Lovely, roomy cottage with beautiful garden. Very clean and comfortable overall, and plenty of space for everyone to relax in. We were a party of 2 families, 4 adults, 4 children and a dog. The weather wasn't great for most of the holiday so unfortunately, we didn't get to make use of the outdoor seating area, but we did use the barbecue and there's more than enough space in the kitchen for cooking for 8. I only marked a 4 for comfort instead of 5 because most of the the beds were a bit soft for everyone, but that's just personal preference. The friendly owners live next door and were on hand if we needed them. Dittisham is lovely and beautiful Dartmouth and Totnes are nearby so it's a great place to be based. Would definitely go back there again!

A fabulous house for a get together with family or friends

A great house with lots of communal living space . The house is modern but still cosy with an open plan kitchen living room with huge sliding windows that open on to a terrace with an eating area, seating and a barbecue. The garden is large and informal garden with a natural pond and stream - so children and perhaps inebriated adults need supervision! There is a sitting room with a wood burner and a large basket of logs provided but the open plan living area is hard to beat, especially during the spring and summer. The bed rooms are very comfortable and there are plenty of bath/shower rooms. The hosts are nearby if you need them and are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of beautiful walks for humans and dogs and nearby hostelries for refreshments.

Top notch

What a location views absolutely beautiful. Stayed as a family of 8 plus 2yr old Granddaughter. The house has so much space, so practical the furnishings and decor so lovely. Kitchen amazing to cook in everything and more provided. While the chef’s cooking, my sons’s in our case excellent meals boys the rest of the family chilled and bumbled around in this fantastic space so much room, The table sat all of us looking out to the view of the beautiful garden and pond. We played lots of games around the table, Brill utility for the dogs, walking boots and coats. Lounge was big and cosy we really didn’t use it as the family room, kitchen was so adequate for us. Bedrooms again so lovely, furnished practically and comfy along with great en-suites, showers etc. The owners are lovely people, greeted us on arrival and explained everything to us. Then left us to get on with it, we knew they were there if we needed anything so helpful and hospitable. Walks all round on door step. Pubs and good restaurants all around. I cannot fault this house it’s excellent, clean, spacious, beautifully maintained, decorated, everything you need and more provided lots of quirky decorations. So many happy family memories made here. Thank you.
