The apartment is located in a back alley close to San Marcos square. The space was more than sufficient for a party of 3 adults and one child, given how cramped most Venice spaces are. The amenities are ok but nothing to write home about - partially old, cheap IKEA quality, and some of them quite dirty (blood stains on bed linen, oily dishes, dirty cabinets). We had to give everything a good scrub when we arrived. Water pressure and hot water were great, but the shower drain didn't work well. The apartment was quiet, the matrazes were comfortable, the terrace is great for lounging in the mornings and evenings. Overall, we had a good stay here. The payment process with the host agency, Venice Apartments, was unfortunately quite unprofessional. While the first installment went through VRBO normally, my bank blocked the second payment because the host’s system did not use Visa Secure. I was then asked to submit my full credit card details through an unsecured form, which I refused, and instead paid by IBAN transfer. Despite confirming receipt of the transfer, the host’s system tried to charge my card several more times, and the amounts communicated were also inconsistent. The apartment itself existed and the payment was ultimately resolved, but the process caused unnecessary concern and did not inspire confidence. Fortunatly, the VRBO support team, whom I kept in the loop, was helpful and responsive throughout the entire process.
