Mountain Time Off the Parkway near Fancy Gap VA

Very nice 3 bedroom and 2 bath spacious 2 story home located in the Ground Hog Mountain Doe Run Community. The master bedroom has a king size bed and is located on the first floor. Located right off of the parkway in a beautiful, quiet community. Several great views of the mountains and the Piedmont within walking distance of the home. Our home is 25 minutes from Main Street Downtown Mount Airy.

Wake up in the morning to have your coffee on the private back deck that is nestled in the trees of the back yard. Spend your day hiking nearby trails or biking on the parkway, visit historic Mabry Mill, (available for breakfast and lunch) Chateau Morrisette Winery, (wine tastings, lunch or dinner) Old Mill Golf Course, (golf, breakfast, lunch, dinner) Old North State Winery, (located in Mount Airy NC available for wine tastings, lunch, dinner) Primland, (a very upscale resort for golf, spa amenities or a romantic lunch or dinner) and the town of Floyd VA is very close by!! There are also 2 breweries located in Mount Airy off Main Street. Thirsty Souls and The White Elephant!! Information booklets are located in the home on all of the above places and more for your convenience. If you don't want to leave the home it is fully stocked with all the pots, pans, plates, etc you need to cook and there also a grill on the back deck with propane provided. There is a TV located in the living room with a cozy couch and recliner near a fireplace with gas logs. We have plenty of DVDs at the home. There is also a basketball court and tennis courts located at the community center in the neighborhood.
We are located 25 minutes from Main Street of Downtown Mount Airy, NC!

Amazing house, fall is great time to visit. Pictures are very accurate. Internet is not good and there is no cell service. Getting unplugged for a while was great. Thanks we will be back.

Quite location, lovely home.

The house was lovely. It's located in a quite neighborhood. The host was promt on answering questions. The house was well stocked with towels and such. The only negative is the internet was extremely slow, which caused the tv to buffer. There are DVDs at the house but nothing for little kids. If you really want to disconnected, this house is perfect.

Birthday getaway

The cabin is very beautiful and will definitely stay again. Great communication with owner. Was close to Mount Airy. Went to The Depot restaurant and Shelton vineyards highly recommend. Visited the Andy Griffith museum and The Loaded Goat restaurant in Mt. Airy food was great. Great birthday getaway.

Amazing Place

This house is beautiful. We found it clean and smelling nice. It was really cool because in the kitchen all cabinets were labeled so it made things easy when needing something. It was fully stocked. The only thing lacking was a TV in the main floor master bedroom but not necessarily a bad thing if you are seeking quiet. This place is in a neat neighborhood with views. If visiting in Winter months a 4 wheel drive is advisable. This house is wooded in the backyard and there are homes on either side but did not bother us. In the summer the trees would obstruct the view. It rained all weekend but there is a beautiful deck that we did not get to enjoy. There is a gas grill. We have decided that we would love to visit this property again late Summer or early Fall.

Cozy home away from home

This home was gorgeous! Our friend group who traveled from 2 different states enjoyed a wonderful girls weekend. The house was pristine and included anything you could think of. It even was decorated for fall. All instructions were very clear. We were away from the hustle and bustle but a short drive to local attractions. Cannot wait to book our next stay!

Great cabin for family getaway

The cabin was so clean and furnished very well. Beds were comfortable and the deck was huge. So many extras on hand, coffee, filters, paper towels, sugar, salt, condiments etc. We loved our stay there and would definitely go back

Perfect location!

The property is perfectly located near the blue ridge parkway. You are only a short drive from Mt. Airy, Mt. Pilot, and Floyd, VA, and I highly recommend visiting those towns. The house was very clean and equipped with everything you need. The gas fireplace was perfect for the cold and cozy nights we had in the mountains. The only complain we have was the queen bed upstairs and was a little uncomfortable but my wife and I still slept ok while we were there. My family and I would recommend this place and we would stay there again.

Great Location--View

Everything was just like the description & our view across the road was stunning! We chose a great time to go. There was a lot more to see & do in the location that we stayed in than we thought there would be. A very memorable vacation & would do it again!

Very Relaxing

We relaxed the entire week, and didn’t do much more than picnic on the parkway and drive over to Meadows of Dan. The house is very clean and cozy, a great area for families!

Weekend get away

Overall pleased. Easy process. Downstairs bed wasn’t very comfortable, but I’ve come to expect that. A few spiders in the house, but that’s expected with the location.

Girls mountain escape

This home is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood off the parkway. I fell in love with the back deck. It was built around the trees so it has the look and feel of a big tree house. There is nothing like laying in the hammock and listening to nature!!
