St James: Light, airy house with garden near Exeter university and town centre.
Enjoy having the best of all worlds: a city centre stay with easy access to beaches and countryside and a comfortable, well equipped house and walled garden to relax in. The house is in the middle of the popular and quirky St James area of Exeter - a mix of students and permanent residents; everything is on your doorstep - Exeter university (lovely walks and an open air pool); the town centre (with its cathedral and many restaurants, shopping and bars) and the little branch line at St James train station for getting further afield. We've designed the house to make it a comfortable home to stay and relax in - we hope you enjoy staying here as much as we do.
We've refurbished the house to make it a comfortable home to stay and relax in with 2 double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a well equipped open plan L-shaped kitchen with dining and additional lounge area (lovely and airy under a glass roof and with bifold glass doors spanning the house) as well as an additional cosy lounge at the front.
Downstairs - Entrance hall with understairs coat and shoe area and washing machine; downstairs shower room and toilet; front lounge which is lovely to snuggle up in the evening (Loaf sofa, armchair and rocking chair, books and games). At the back of the house is a well equipped kitchen leading to a light and airy dining and further lounge area with glass roof and bifold glass doors so that you can enjoy the flowers and birds in the garden whatever the weather.
Upstairs - Two light and airy double bedrooms with comfy beds with pristine linen - one (smaller) bedroom looks over the garden and one to the front of the house - plenty of storage space for your belongings. Newly fitted bathroom with walk in shower, toilet, basin and cupboard, heated mirror and electric radiator. (Please note that both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms are fitted with showers rather than baths)
Outside - Cute and very well stocked walled garden; lovely for sitting out in for an evening meal. There are many mature shrubs and trees around including silver birch, apple, hawthorne and Japanese acer), climbers (e.g. honeysuckle, clematis, ivy, jasmine), ferns, hostas etc. which creates a lovely green oasis in the centre of town and attracts a constant flow of birds. The garden table and fire pit are available for guest use. Please note that as we are in the St James’ area on the edge of the city centre parking in most of the street is restricted for residents’ use only. However there are a number of free and pay-for parking areas within a 10 minute walk - we can provide you with details of these.
