We stayed with two families of four (four adults and four children) for two week ...

We stayed with two families of four (four adults and four children) for two weeks. The house looks nice from afar, but lacks some maintenance. It is pretty old and you can love or hate it, that's up to you. The doorways are very low, mind your head! Everything was clean and all we needed was present. The kitchen is really suitable for six people, not 8 or even 9. There's plates for 6 (enough cutlery and glasses, though) and we couldn't fit more than 6 sitting at the dinner table. The plot of grass around the house is excellent and our children adored the little playhouse, all for themselves. We disagree with a few points as advertised: - There is only one bathroom and it's pretty small at that. There's a toilet on the first floor with a normal sized sink, but that's not a bathroom. - There's 4 real bedrooms. A bed on the upper landing doesn't count as a bedroom and a walk-through room on the ground floor with a sleeping couch doesn't really qualify either, if you ask me. The bed in the sleeping room on the ground floor is pretty narrow for a double bed. The master bedroom sports a fine double bed, but also a single bed. Three people in a bedroom is uncomfortable. The doors on the side, leading to the veranda (and including the veranda), are a nice touch to the house. Beware of the typical nordic red paint on the house; it stains on the clothes and doesn't come off easily. To summarize: Pros - Clean - Big lawn to chill, play, eat, excercise, etc. - Children's playhouse - Inventory is complete - Friendly help by telephone when you need it (used at arrival in our case) and quick responses by e-mail. Cons: - Unfit for 9 people, crowded for 8. I'd say 6 people is comfortable. - The house is really old, some maintenance is in order (woodwork, window closing systems, noisy washing machine). The doorways are low (bumped our heads multiple times) and there's a strange hallway with three doors opening to it, making the bathroom awkward to enter and exit. - There's not two bathrooms, but one bathroom and a separate toilet with a sink. - There's only 4 real bedrooms, not 5. - One of the double beds is pretty narrow. - There's a lot of flies (next door farm is probably the cause). Fly swatters are provided in abundance, though!
