Cozy house close to Mammoth Cave and Bowling Green

This is a cozy farmhouse located in Oakland, KY on a 150+ acre farm. It is only two minutes from I-65 south to Bowling Green/Nashville, five minutes from 1-65 north to Louisville/Lexington, 10 minutes from the Corvette Museum, and 20 minutes from Mammoth Cave National Park, Nolin Lake, Beech Bend Raceway, and Western Kentucky University. It is centrally located between Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY. We look forward to hosting travelers from a variety of backgrounds and interests!

Space
Extra beds (besides the king size bed): There is a queen size pull-out sleeper sofa with a new cool gel memory foam mattress. We also have a 22 inch raised queen size air mattress with a built in electric pump. We have a game and movie rack with a wide selection of favorites. We also offer several kitchen gadgets including crock pots, George Foreman grill, double panini maker, stand-up mixer, pots, pans, baking sheets, etc. Guests will also find the SOKY Magazine, which offers a monthly calendar for all the daily/nightly events in Bowling Green and surrounding cities. There is also a high school regulation-size basketball court and a pond (sorry - no swimming or fishing).

Our most favorite attractions on the farm are the cows. They are very friendly and LOVE bread for treats. Guests are more than welcome to feed and pet them.

We hope guests will enjoy the entire farm - from the basketball court to walking the airplane landing strip to the pond.

Guest interaction
We live in a separate home in front of the farmhouse and will be available at almost anytime.

Other things to note
While we do not have cable TV, we do have an antenna which provides approximately 15-20 channels along with a DVD player and wide selection of movies. The house is divided into two sides with each side having an open floor plan. The kitchen leads into the living room and the bathroom leads into the bedroom. The toilet is hidden from view of the bedroom by a half wall and curtained area.

Upon departure, guests are asked to start the dishwasher. We take care of the rest!

Smoking is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the house.

In the house manual located in the farmhouse, there are specific rules for your furry friends.

Kitchen gadgets: George Foreman grill perfect for 2 burgers, pieces of chicken, pork chops, several hotdogs, etc., double panini maker, stand-up mixer, one small crock pot, one large crock pot, various pots, pans, and baking sheets, pitcher, mixing bowls, measuring cups

TV: We have an antenna that gets about 15-20 channels.

Game rack: Catch Phrase, Monopoly Junior, Sequence, Racko, Jenga, Pictionary Man, Triple Yahtzee, Taboo, Dominoes, Rook, Old Maid, playing cards, set of card games for kids

Movie rack: Over 200 DVDs including Forrest Gump, Steel Magnolias, The Notebook, The Green Mile, Anchorman, and many, many more!

Pantry items: Cooking oil, cooking spray, soy sauce, salt, pepper

Was definitely at the top of our vrbo favorites. The home was perfect and sitting on the deck overlooking the fields enjoying the serenity was amazing. Wild eggs best breakfast place ever. Enjoyed seeing the cows but they weren't interested in our healthy organic bread lol

The farmhouse was spotless and had everything you could possibly need. The property is peaceful and tranquil. Lots of privacy and notbing but open land to view from the deck. This was the best vrbo i have stayed at.

Amazing stay!

This was so fun! The location was so perfect for seeing the caves and close to Bowling Green. It was so nice to be surrounded by land and the cows were so friendly! My son played basketball every chance we had. House was so clean and comfortable had everything you needed! Best rental we have had in a long time! Highly recommend!

Perfect little getaway

The house was very clean. We appreciated the little things that were left in the house for our use in case we forgot something. The kids adored getting to pet and feed the cows. We will be back!

A Piece of Heaven in the Country

Stayed for a few days w/ kids on our visit to see Mammoth Cave. Extremely clean and peaceful home to stay in w/ a beautiful view of a farm and a barn. The home was spotless with all you need for a nice visit; board games, DVDs for kids and pristine kitchen. Cannot recommend enough.

Cute Farmhouse

Property was just as described. Quiet and peaceful. Host Jonathan lives on the farm in the front of the property, he is very friendly. I loved feeding and petting the Jersey Girls (cows). They really do love bread lol. If your an early riser you may get to see bunnies as well. Property was perfect for 2 adults as its a 1 bedroom (Bed was comfy).There is a pull out couch and an air mattress if you don't mind sleeping on one of those options. About 20 minutes to Beech Bend Park. About 25 minutes to Mammoth Cave area. 25 minutes to Dutch Country Safari Park or Kentucky Downunder. Pretty much a central location.

Oakland, KY Farmhouse

The cozy farmhouse was great! Just perfect for what we needed. Location was excellent! Close to the Corvette Museum where we visited and close to town for eating and shopping. Owner was wonderful and very helpful. We had snow and very cold temps during our trip and owner left pet friendly salt for the steps and shoveled out a path from the driveway to backdoor. 10 out of 10!

Farmhouse gem next to BG and mammoth cave

Perfect location between bowling green and mammoth cave! Weā€™ve been looking forward to this stay for awhile and now we canā€™t wait to come back! My kids and dog absolutely loved the cows. The property has the most beautiful sunrise/sunsets and so peaceful. Kitchen is well stocked. House is very comfortable and clean! Would 1000% recommend. Thank you for sharing your paradise with us.

Clean, well equipped, easy access to everything you want to do

The cozy farmhouse is just a few minutes off I-65 yet far enough to be in a quiet area. Surrounded by cornfields and a few friendly cows, itā€™s a peaceful place. The house is the cleanest and most thoughtfully accommodating rental Iā€™ve been in. Furniture is comfortable, not the cheap box store stuff in other rentals. King size bed is very comfortable. Full size tub and shower. Double sinks in the bathroom vanity. Well equipped kitchen. Beautiful shaded porch. 10/10 would recommend.

Cozy home away from home

We explored Mammoth Cave for multiple days and this cozy little farm was the perfect home away from home for our family of five and fur baby. It is conveniently located to the caves and only an hourā€™s drive to Nashville. There is also a new Bucc-ees at the houseā€™s exit. In between multiple half day trips exploring caves and hiking we were able to slow down and take in the beautiful open farm field and pasture views. This cozy home has an open flow concept for being all together with lots of games boards and outdoor space to play. My favorite part was our slow quiet morning views from the deck while sipping coffee from an adorable cow mug!

Beautiful, peaceful home.

The moment we stepped in the home,my first impression was how immaculate it was and how cozy the home felt. It was much larger than I had imagined, and absolutely perfect for the two of us. I loved the magnificent property and the back porch was totally private and so quiet and peaceful. Then we met the patriarch of the property, Donna, who was absolutely to most delightful, lovely person full of stories of the generational property. Likewise, her husband and 2 grandchildren were wonderful people who made me feel like family. What a wonderful experience I had on the farm and would love to live there with those exceptional loving people. I loved the house, I loved the owners, and I loved Mammoth Cave along with the magnificent State of Kentucky. What a beautiful state. Thank you for hosting us. Best wishes always.

We loved our stay at the cozy house! We will 100% stay here again next time we come to Kentucky.The house had everything we needed. Our kids (9 &4) would have just enjoyed staying at the house and not going anywhere else. They loved visiting with the cows and playing outside.
