White Fence-Exquisite Private Waterfront!

This classic coastal farmhouse has been restored with classic style and design with new windows in December 2020! This beach home features quality finishes and timeless designs throughout the 2022 square footage. Three covered porches and two large gazebo's along with multiple decks, extensively landscaped and manicured grounds, and unobstructed bay views from throughout the estate make this a one of a kind property. Known for its classic white and black awnings, White Fence creates a wonderful relaxing setting that enjoys over 127ft of private sandy frontage on Suttons Bay. Outdoor fire pits and beach front seating make this the ideal vacation property and Suttons Bay is the ideal northern Michigan destination. Guests have access to kayaks, jet ski hoist and boat hoist with dock for their private watercraft. Hoist will hold up to a 21’ boat.

The location of the property is less than 1/4 mile south of Suttons Bay, off M-22 on South Shore Dr. Walking to the many restaurants and shops is very easy with sidewalk access directly from the property.

The Main House at White Fence boasts two large bedrooms and full bath upstairs and a queen sofa bed in the main floor living room that can serve as a semi-private bedroom. There is also a dining room and family room on the main floor. In addition the jewel of this property is the fully equipped gourmet kitchen with a new Wolf 6 burner cooktop added in 2020!

In addition, guests have full access to the Carriage Suite, an adjoining property that is ideal for a couple, in-laws or visitors. The Carriage house suite boasts a queen bedroom, living room suite, full bath, gas stove, two flat screen tv’s, kitchenette and separate private living quarters.

White Fence is an exclusive property that has been meticulously maintained. The grounds, private beach, seating areas indoors and out, make this an ideal retreat for adults or two adult couples. This property is only available to accommodate up to 8 guests. While we love pets, White Fence has a no pet policy however Sutton's Bay Animal Hospital will gladly board your pet while you stay.

Summer rentals are available by the week and a two day minimum is required in the fall, spring and winter. Our turnover day in the summer is Saturday or Sunday.

What a great house and beautiful views!

Little bit different then a typical house, but loved every part of our stay. Very close to hop-lot and downtown Suttons Bay. Thank you for letting us stay, will hopefully use again.

Amazing beach perfect for the kids to play during the day and star gazing at night

Gorgeous beachfront

Great location, with beautiful beachfront. Very clean inside. Maybe the outside could use a little TLC M 22 traffic can be noisy at night.

Great week up north!

Absolutely lovely property in THE best location!! The private beach, carriage house, fully stocked kitchen and beautiful outdoor spaces were just a few of the things we loved. We will be back next year!!

Best MI trip so far!

We have explored several northern Michigan towns and properties. Our family agreed that this was our favorite. The location of the house and beach is absolutely perfect. The town of Sutton’s Bay is adorable. And the proximity to Traverse City for a little louder evening is great as well. We biked to wineries, cherry stands, and the golf course. With a variety of ages and interests, everyone found something they loved. The house itself is adorable with 1 million places to hang out and enjoy the northern Michigan weather. In fair balance, it is an older house that’s been remodeled, so the rooms are a little choppy. It worked perfectly for our group to hang together, but also have time away. We highly recommend!

We (my 75 yr old parents, 2-yr old son, and mehusband) had an amazing stay at White Fence. Mike is extremely responsive and answered any questions or concerns very quickly. The private, GROUND LEVEL (i.e. not having to climb 50 steps), was wonderful for my mobility-challenged father and my toddler son. The proximity to Suttons Bay town (2-min walk to great grocery store, and 5-min walk to the 'main strip') is also excellent, and it serves as a great base to explore other great spots within 15-30 min drive. The only thing you should be aware of and prepared for is the noise the M-22 makes during the night, but this is easily dealt with by having the A/C on in the summer or wearing ear plugs. Again, the house is really wonderful and the slight separation we were able to achieve by housing ourselves in the main house and my parents in the other was actually really nice.

What a week!

The White Fence was absolutely perfect for our family of 3 generations. My husband and I used the Carriage House and our children and granddaughter were very happy in the main house. There was plenty of room for joint meals, inside and out, and family gatherings! We lived on the porch with the rocking chairs and the gorgeous view of Sutton’s Bay. Mike was great at answering all of our questions before we arrived, and we appreciated the many amenities supplied. It was exactly the type of vacation we needed to end our summer!

Wonderful Location

Extended family stayed in booth White Fence House and Carriage House. Suttons Bay location is terrific. Walked, biked and kayaked everywhere. The new beach is beautiful and grandkids loved the beach and sand bottom for swimming. First floor bedroom layout in the main house is a little quirky but our gang loved it. Great outdoor spaces. Can be a little noisy with M22 traffic but we got used to it. Mike and Shirley were wonderful to work with. Quick answers to questions and easy to contact. One of our best rental vacations ever.

The Beach! It's glorious and worth the price of admission! Idyllic setting and sandy bottom bay

Unfortunately we had rainy weather, but the few sunny days we had were spent in the water for sure! The walk into town is effortless and a nice thing to do for breakfasts and or dinners and or shopping or biking! The trail for biking was wonderful, the town was great too! Hosts were amazing. Very responsive. If any issues come up, they bend over backwards to help. As hosts they get an 11 out of 10! For those having to work on vaca, we were in the carriage house and the internet was incredibly fast! Suttons Bay was such a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Traverse, but close enough to drive there with relative ease.

Wedding Week Bliss

We were at White Fence for a week for our son’s wedding. The house was wonderful well maintained and in a great location close to town. The location on the bay was perfect. The private beach with chairs and kayaks was well used. The beach front may be the best beach front on the entire bay. Clean sand and easy access to the water. Would highly recommend this property and will stay there again.

Perfect way to kick off summer

Our family truly enjoyed White Fence and it’s fantastic location. We spent almost every evening out on the beach, walked into town daily and enjoyed the house immensely. Would recommend to family and friends!

Very nice house

The property is in a great location, with close proximity to the town, the marina, and the beach (both the beach on the property and the adjacent public beach/park). The property was clean and offered a decent amount of space. We would stay here again.

Beautiful Property

White Fence is a beautiful property. The location is very convenient and a short walk or bike ride to downtown Sutton's Bay, and the outdoor areas are amazing. The kids loved playing on the beach, roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, and fishing off of the dock.

Suttons Bay on the beach

The beach is beautiful and proximity to town is a huge bonus. Suttons Bay is clean and gorgeous and kayaking in the bay was a huge treat! There is also a quiet public beach next door that adds flavor to the experience. The main floor bedroom layout is a bit unconventional but overall a wonderful week with family.

Next year we are making the main floor bedroom an optional bedroom with a pull out sofa so we can sleep as many guests but make it much more functional! Girls trip

The house is beautiful with plenty of room both inside and outside on the multiple sitting areas. The private beach was absolutely gorgeous not to mention the lake side fire pit. The location is perfect, walking distance to anything in Sutton’s Bay. Also very easy access to the bike trail that goes through beautiful orchards and vineyards all the way to Traverse city. We had a perfect week and hope to go back again soon.

Accommodates large group/Nice location

This house is located in a convenient area where you can walk to anything in town. Lots of space to accommodate a larger group. Nice to have the separate carriage house for a couple or family with a small child to have their own space. Several outdoor seating areas allowing people to spread out as well. We enjoyed our time here.

We loved everything about our stay at this rental, views, charm, comfort and cleanliness!

This was a wonderful rental! Fantastic location, amazing sunrise views, very clean and comfortable and some very special touches made this a this rental a special one and one we will try and return to. The house itself is very charming but also updated and fully stocked with anything you might need. The kitchen was perfect for a holiday and we cooked quite a few meals during our stay. Owners were very helpful and friendly and all in all just a wonderful home and town to vacation in!

White Fence of Suttons Bay has been recently purchased by 24 year Suttons Bay residents Greg and Shirley Hodge and their Daughter and Son in-law Mike and Hilarie Krumm. The families have been coming to the area for the past 20 years and fell in love with this property when it came up for sale in 2017.
