Log Cabin at Bolton Bay on Long Lake

Our rustic Log Cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. It features a queen bed in the loft suite, two queen beds in the basement bedroom, a queen bed in the office bedroom, and a queen sofa sleeper in the living area. Upon request, a comfortable queen air mattress is also available.

All towels and linens are provided for your stay. The Log Cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen with appliances and cooking accessories, making it easy to prepare meals during your visit. The Log Cabin is comfortably cooled with forced air conditioning.

Enjoy the spacious deck with wrap-around seating— Perfect for relaxing with friends and family. Start your day with a cup of coffee at the high-top table while taking in the beautiful wildlife all around you.

Enjoy the large yard with a firepit stocked with firewood, along with lawn chairs for relaxing evenings outdoors. Fire up the new Weber grill and dine at your private picnic table. There’s plenty of space for yard games like Corn Hole and Beersbee, and many guests enjoy hanging hammocks from the trees for a peaceful lakeside retreat.

My Log Cabin on beautiful Long Lake is only 3 minutes from downtown Park Rapids and within walking distance to a local restaurant known for their great food!

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of my Log Cabin and entire property. Long Lake in Park Rapids has some of the best fishing in Minnesota, great sandy beaches, and nearly 10 miles of water for jet skiing, water skiing, tubing, snorkeling, sailing and swimming!

Bring your own boat or rent our pontoon or fishing boat and enjoy a few days on the lake!

Take a walk on the different Bolton Bay trails or use miles and miles of paved trails in the Heartland trail system which is only two miles away. Bolton Bay is also a short drive to Itasca State Park which is the headwaters of the Mississippi River.

Log cabin on beautiful Long Lake

We had a great time with our daughter and granddaughters. Fishing, campfire, and fun with the golf cart. Chris was a great host!

Peaceful Getaway

The uniqueness of the log cabin is really a draw. We loved being back in the bay where the winds weren’t so strong when it stormed. It’s a perfect place for adults to get together, unwind and re-connect. Chris is a great host as well, if there’s anything you need, he bends over backwards to get it for you and he responds to any messages before you can even blink. We would definitely stay there again!

Said there was AC but only a small window unit to cool the entire cabin. Very misleading. Shower facilities terrible. Some beds were in terrible shape for sleeping. Tiny TV with poor Internet connection. Overall would never recommend this VRBO.

Beautiful getaway

My entire family enjoyed to peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing stay. Chris was awesome, could not have asked for a better host. We will definitely be returning. I cannot recommend Bolton Bay enough.

Cute real log cabin

It was a cute, clean cabin, and well secluded and quiet. It had nice dishes and cookware. Fire pit and available wood was really great. The minor things to note are the bedrooms don't have much privacy; 2 of the 3 rooms are open lofts. My friends and I know each other well so this wasn't an issue for us, but could be for others. The larger basement bedroom doesn't have windows. The doors to the bathrooms are difficult to close. It would be nice to have a sturdier dining table. The leaves to make the table full size slope and I kept worrying things would fall off. Chris was very friendly and accommodating and was usually quick to respond. Overall a really cozy cabin on a beautiful piece of property.

Fun family getaway

Thoroughly enjoyed our family getaway in Park Rapids! The cabin was rustic and pretty cool. The deck could use some work and shrubs needed trimming but all in all it was an enjoyable place!

Not well maintained

Our family stayed in Park Rapids for four nights, we have two children under six and two adults. We enjoyed the town, Long Lake and the pontoon rental. When we arrived at the cabin we noticed there was a large hornets nest directly over the front door with many wasps circling. We had to use back door in and out of cabin for first 2 days. The cabin was not clean when we arrived. We found a bathroom with hair on the toilet and in the tub, along with a black gunk on the shower curtain. In one of the bedrooms there was a curtain that was moldy and hair on a pillow. The BBQ grill wasn’t cleaned from a previous use and there were cobwebs on light fixtures and in corners. The deck outside is rundown. The wood is rotting through to the point of the top board missing in many spots along the railing and having rusty nails exposed and pointing up in the air. We texted Chris who agreed to come by the next day to see our concerns. He came in with his Mom and Dad who all helped him clean the bathroom, replace shower curtains, change bedding and take the curtains out of the bedroom upstairs. He even delivered a new grill brush. Chris apologized for the state the cabin was found in telling me that his cleaning lady had the day off and he cleaned it himself. He said he knew about the wasp nest, the shower curtain, and the window curtain upstairs and the deck but just hadn’t replaced any of them prior to our stay. Chris said he was currently accepting bids for replacing the deck. Even though our vacation started rough and the fore mentioned state of the cabin had a lot to do with that. We enjoyed our stay in Park Rapids and at Long Lake. It’s a beautiful area our family has been going to for many years.

This review isn't a fair and accurate review of my property at all. I first noticed the hornets only 1 day before Eileen and her families stay. I immediately sprayed the nest with hornet killer. I did this twice before her stay at my cabin. There were still a few last hornets still flying around so I left a can of the hornet killer there to spray once more after Eileen arrived to completely eradicate the hornets. My rustic cabin is just that. It isn't brand new and isn't The Hilton. It's a 30 year old cabin on beautiful Long Lake. Eileen sent pics of what she claimed was hair that she found on a pillow and toilet. She sent me a pic and I wasn't able to see any hair on the pillow or toilet. She also said that other areas weren't clean. After inspecting these areas it wasn't that they weren't clean but rather old products that had lost their "new shine." I'm proud however how we handled their concerns. We agreed on a time that we could meet and address any of their issues. We quickly replaced the shower curtain and washed the floors in both bathrooms. I showed them that even after the second cleaning they still look dull and faded as opposed to bright new and shiny that you would find with a brand new cabin. We then went to the bedroom and looked for hair which I found none. However, I purchased a complete new set of sheets and I replaced the sheets with the new set. I washed the other bathroom as well and showed him that the bathroom was actually clean before but tile and hardwood was 30 years old. My deck is old but it is still very nice and safe place for people to enjoy. I'm proud how I handled the Revland's concern. I'm very happy that they enjoyed Park Rapids and hope they return in the future.

It would be tough to hold 10 in this placel. kitchen is nice but otherwise the place is a little run down and not well maintained. beds are small, A/C is marginal, bathrooms so-so. the deck is run down and a simple clearing of brush would make it a little more scenic. you are not on lake and there is NO swimming as the dock is located in about 1 foot of water and 3 feet of muck. Long lake is really nice and the access is quick with boat. it is quiet at end of street.

Dave, thanks for your comments about your stay. As advertised it is a rustic cabin on Long Lake. Keep in mind your stay isn't at a Holiday Inn but in a nice cabin on beautiful Long Lake. We did upgrade our A/C system on 7/26. Our bay is shallow and not advertised to have a swimming beach but rather ample docking and quick access to Long Lake. Thanks again.

Life’s a breeze on Long Lake

Everything about the cabin to the owner was great. It was very easy to communicate with Chris. Place was awesome. Fishing was great. The only reason for the 4 stars on the overall was that we couldn’t get the hot water for the shower to work. But we managed. Thanks Chris!!!

I'm so sorry about the shower issue. I don't understand why you wouldn't have mentioned it to me the instant you noticed the problem. I checked out the problem and had it fixed in 10 minutes. I'm glad the rest of your stay was wonderful however. Please come again.

A beautiful cabin with a beautiful view on the lake.

This cabin was perfect for our family get away. There was plenty of space for 6 of us comfortably. It was clean and Chris was great to work with and easily available. We look forward to returning again in the future.

Perfect location and a clean home, we really enjoyed our stay.

Chris is very accommodating. We had 2 boats with our group and he provided dock space for both. Parking 2 boats with trucks and trailers was a little challenging but very doable. We would recommend this rental to others.

Great location for a small retreat

I took a team here for a weekend retreat, and it was perfect location. The kitchen had everything we needed for our meals, and it was within a short driving distance of a grocery store. There was plenty of space in the building for us to work, and a great fire pit outside, which we used both evenings.

Chris is great to work with!!

Chris is very friendly and pleasant to work with! He responded promptly to some difficulties with plumbing and lack of comfortable seating by bringing in a plumber and a comfy chair. Thank you so much, Chris! The place is quiet and private, and we enjoyed our stay. It was relatively clean, and I would give it a higher rating if there was more care given to cleaning (chandeliers, for example) and some fresh and updated decor and furniture!

Nice, private getaway!

The cabin itself was great! Clean, spacious and lots of great views of the lake. It was just the two of us, but could have slept 6 comfortably. Chris was super responsive and hospitable, responding to all of our requests promptly. He lives next door, but you wouldn't know it because you never see him. The only reason this isn't a 5-star rating is for small things. The kitchen supplies are very limited and the water went out at one point, although he resolved that issue quickly. Otherwise the stay was great and I highly recommend this place!
