Situated strategically, The Picayune enjoys a prime location just three blocks away from the world-famous French Quarter. Getting Around: Walking is the best way to get around in the downtown New Orleans area and when you get tired, rideshare (Uber/Lift/KrewCar) and taxis are generally readily available. Or hop on one of our famous streetcars to see two major routes throughout the city. The St. Charles Ave. streetcars are Green and head away from downtown on St. Charles Ave, into the Garden District, where you will see the beautifully maintained mansions, passing Loyola and Tulane Universities, Audubon Park, and the Audubon Zoo. Red Streetcars travel along Canal Blvd. from the Mississippi River out to City Park. The streetcars are cash only, unless you buy a pass. The Hop on Hop off tour buses circulate around some of the more popular areas of downtown and offer pickup every 30 minutes. The Algiers Ferry is a fun way to get across the river. It runs from Canal Street to Algiers throughout the day. Algiers is small and very walkable. Enjoy a quick bite to eat or just enjoy walking through the historic houses.
Bicycle rentals are also a great way to get around and can be rented from various locations throughout downtown. There are bike rental options like Blue Bike with multiple locations throughout the city and tour companies that have guided bike tours.

There are various public parking garages, parking lots and street parking available for a fee. Access to this condo will not be permitted until the contract is signed and the Government issued Photo ID of the primary renter is received by VacayNOLA. Non smoking property. Evidence of smoking will incur a fine. No pets, parties, or large gathering events allowed.

Great place and location!
The property was terrific, exactly as described and stocked with everything we might need for just a few days! The location was perfect - far enough away from the crowds but close enough to walk anywhere we wanted to go.

But thinking about it, it was the original home of the "Times - Picayune Newspaper" from the 1880's until 1969, so this location had to be close to the City center to get all the latest news.

When coming to New Orleans, feet are the best mode of transportation to get around, and we are only 3 blocks off of Canal Boulevard, so The Picayune Building is a very centralized location to all that the downtown areas have for food, music, venues, foods, attractions, bars and nightclubs and did we mention food?

Thank you Karl and friends for the 5 Star Review. JazzFest is a citywide favorite in New Orleans, even with the understanding that it just isn't JazzFest without some rain and mud "festing" mixed in there, too.
The Picayune Building is the perfect location for all there is to do, see and eat in New Orleans, a few blocks away and very walkable to any location. Streetcars are not more than one to 3 blocks away to help get you around to other neighborhoods of the Greater New Orleans areas either. If you are here for work conferences, the Morial Convention Center is less than a mile and the Superdome, Smoothie King Center Arena is about 8 blocks away for concerts, events and of course our beloved Saints "Dome" Games.
