Calm Cottage, Kingsand

A super stylish three-bedroom cottage that has been thoroughly refurbished whilst still paying homage to its traditional roots. You are only a short stroll from Kingsand beach and the wonderful collection of cafes, pubs and shops that are located within this historic fishing village.



The accommodation is spread across three floors with a tranquil living room and country style kitchen/diner on the ground floor. Low ceilings and exposed sandstone walls transport you back into a time gone by. The charming courtyard with feature cherry blossom tree is south westerly facing and receives the best of the afternoon and early evening sun.



The master bedroom is located on the top floor (restricted head height) with exposed beams and a feature free standing bath. A further double room which is located on the first floor benefits from an adjoined shower room and is complimented by a double bunk area at the rear of the property which is the perfect hideaway for the kids.



Calm Cottage is situated in the heart of the old fishing village of Kingsand. At the bottom of a street, you will find stunning Kingsand beach and only a short walk to traditional pubs and reputed restaurants that make this area Cornwall’s best kept secret.



The historic village does not have private parking; however, the public pay and display carpark is less than a of couple minutes’ walk away from the property.

Clean linen, towels, shampoo & conditioner will be provided within the total price.

(Please bring your own beach towels)

The property has Wi-Fi.

One small well behaved pooch allowed with prior consent for an extra £20.00 per week.



Three night short stays available between October and April (excluding school holidays), please feel free to contact our friendly team with required dates.



Please note that a deposit of £350.00 will be authorised one day before check-in. Providing there are no damages to the property and/or its contents have occurred this will be not be captured and funds will become available in your account.

Stunning!

Stunning house in a great location. Very easy communication with Rosie for arriving and leaving. We didn't use the car all week, walking distance of 5 great pubs all serving food. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Very relaxing and highly recommended.

The cottage was a beautiful place to stay for a long weekend. We all felt that the photos don’t quite do the cottage justice, to show off how lovely each of the rooms are (particularly the sociable kitchen / dining area with the roaring fire). Lovely bedrooms and beautiful copper bathtub on the top floor. Very relaxing and highly recommended.

Cost cottage in lovely area

Cosy, quirky cottage with a nice small outside area. Lovely seating area in the kitchen, Middle floor bed was super comfortable, good shower and super deep bath on the top Floor. We have stayed in Kingsand /Cawsand a few times as we love the relaxed feel, the walks, the pubs, the beach areas and the ferry access to Royal William Yard and the Barbican. We travel as 2 adults with 2 dogs and our stays in the area are always when children are in school. Extend timings? We feel 4pm check in is late and 10am check out is late.

Great location, comfy cottage

The location is great, the beach, sea, shops and pub all within two minutes. Cottage is very comfortable and nicely decorated in a quirky fashion. Cleanliness. Ground floor really dusty - brick dust from raw walls. Cutlery never looked clean. Hairs in plug hole of bath! Cobwebs in most rooms.

Calm Cottage

To start, I will say, I love Calm Cottage, which we booked through Kip Hideaways. We have booked a few trips with them now and have loved them all. I also love their website and spend hours daydreaming over the properties. We have just returned from our second visit to Calm Cottage in Kingsand, Cornwall. Kingsand is a beautiful, almost forgotten corner of South Devon, with the amazing Whitsand Beaches a few minutes drive away. Calm Cottage is a small, quirky, stylish mid terrace that allows you to enjoy the simple things in life. It is wonderfully furnished, with natural linens, 'clean' toiletries and a sun trap courtyard garden. It is dog friendly, and 2 minutes walk to a small beach, a couple of pubs and a deli that sells the best home made pasties. I would give this review 5 stars apart from: 1: Last time we visited we were welcomed by a basket containing everything you need for a proper Cornish Cream Tea, and we spoke about it on the journey there and looked forward to as a treat after a 10 hour drive from London. However this time the Kip gift was a small packet of fudge - very disappointing. 2: On our first evening my dog retrieved a packet of prescription pills from just under the sofa. Fortunately we saw him with them and removed them straight away. They were not out of reach, or even particularly out of sight, so should not have been missed when the cottage was cleaned after the last guests. and 3: No laundry tabs were left (it said on the listing there would be), which meant that the sandy towels from the beach couldn't be cleaned for the next day. A few moans, but Calm Cottage is wonderful and I am sure we will return for a third time.

Quirky little cottage next to the sea

This cottage was delightful with its low doorways and beautiful furnishings. I always like to stay in a holiday let that inspires me and this fit the bill perfectly. It was deliciously cool inside on a hot day but the garden was lovely and sunny for an evening meal out. The closeness to the beach was perfect for a snatched coffee and pastry from the Stores or Old Bakery and breakfast on a bench looking out over the bay with the boats bobbing and the sea sparkling. We had a gorgeous week with some sunny and some misty weather and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! The ice box was broken and one of the rings on the hob didn’t work but apart from that everything was perfect!
