The Net House | Dog Friendly Coastal Retreat near Winterton Beach

The Net House is a stylish two bedroom cottage located in Winterton. Winterton is a former fishing village, and net houses were dotted around the village and used by fishing boat owners to store their nets. The Net House is part of one of those original buildings.

Downstairs, the entrance porch leads into the well equipped kitchen diner which has an electric hob, oven and fridge freezer. There's also an integrated dishwasher and washing machine. The living area has a Smart TV and comfortable seating for up to four people. It overlooks the pretty back garden which is fully enclosed.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms: one has a kingsize double bed, and the other has twin single 2'6" beds which can be converted to a kingsize double bed on request. The modern bathroom has a large walk in shower, wash basin and WC.

Outside there is ample off road parking for two cars and the back garden is private and enclosed. The Net House welcomes three dogs free of charge. Dogs are welcome throughout the living areas and may join you on the sofas if using throws provided. The cottage is only a five minute walk from the beach, and close to other local walks across the Norfolk countryside.

A week in Winterton

All ok. No hot water for 36 hours. Plumber called and easy fix but inconvenient. Property has everything you need.

The cottage is perfect for our stays & we’ll continue to book it if available. Everything is available for a relaxing stay & its position in the village is ideal for us & the dog. Hope to return in a better time of year so we can make use of the garden.

Home from home!

Comfortable home from home. Quiet village with all we needed, good pub serving food. Excellent cafe Poppy's, adjoining the post office. Convenient 'corner shop'. Short walk to the beach through the dunes, or on the path/road through the village to a great beach cafe. The accommodation is looking a little tired in places, kitchen units and oven, washing machine and stair/landing carpet. A fan would be welcome in the extreme weather. But overall charming. Our second stay!

The Net house is a lovely place to stay. In quiet road. A short walk from the dunes, The beach is more of a walk. The house is equipped with everything you need. It is furnished very well indeed. Throws are provided to place on the sofas if you have a dog. We really enjoyed our stay at The Net house and book to come back.

Ideal for mid week break or longer.

Felt at home the moment we arrived. Net House is very nicely decorated and furnished . Plenty of room in kitchen cupboards for our supplies that we brought with us. Fridge clean a big plus. We found everything we needed in the way of kitchen equipment. Living room very comfortable with lovely sofa throws. Bedroom spacious and we slept well . Bathroom very clean and the towels supplied were super big and great to use after showering. The stairs need a little bit of care especially for the less mobile. The garden was perfect for our dog Ben. The location of Net House is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the sand dunes and the walk in the valley is great for dog owners. Our dog Ben just wanted to find a path up the sand dunes so that he could find a path down to the sea and beach. The shop which is nearby has everything you may need. Plus there is a pub and fish and chip shop. Hope to return to Net House for a truly relaxing ,stress free break.

A great place to stay

We've just returned from a great week in the Net House with our two dogs. The rooms are all well-sized and nicely laid out. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals when we couldn't be bothered to walk the 5 minutes to the pub, and the back garden was secure for the dogs (as well as being a proper sun-trap). We were there during some of the 'stupidly hot' weather we've been having, but as each room has windows front and back allowing for cooling airflow this wasn't a problem. The dunes are very close, and it's a nice walk across them either to the beach or the cafe. Or both. We've stayed in a few places in Winterton over the years and this was by far our favourite, so much so that we booked it again for next year before we'd even left.

Lovely cottage near the beach

We have now used The Net House on two occasions and were very pleased with it. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed, including a south facing garden which our two dogs appreciated. It's only a very short walk to the beach (including miles of sand dunes) and the village shop, pub and cafe are only a 2 minute walk away. Off road parking is also handy in this small village with narrow lanes..

Christmas at the Net House

Stayed at The Net House for Christmas and it was a great choice. The house is very comfortable with everything you need and was decorated very nicely for Christmas. It’s in a nice position down a quiet lane and very close to the dunes so some great walks straight from the door. Lots of Seals on the dunes this time of year. Communication with the owners was very good and the welcome basket was very nice. Would love to stay again.

Dog friendly great quiet location

Property clean and comfortable. To some the mattress may be considered soft. Staircase steep with sharp turn could benefit from additional handrail. Kitchen fully equipped with all you need. Heating electric programmed. You have to keep overriding to maintain your preferred temperature. Hot water constant. Shower pressure was excellent. Good off street parking and tidy well kept rear enclosed garden.

Great place to stay!

The Net House is in a quiet lane just a 5 minute walk from the dunes and the beach. The house kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, crockery and utensils. The bed was comfortable with fresh, good quality bedding. The bathroom shower was electric and towels were provided. There is a small garden with grass and shrubs which was ideal for our two dogs. There are many walks directly from the house. The Fisherman’s Return pub providing typical pub food and a fish and chip shop are a short walk away. We would recommend The Net House.

Perfect getaway!

The Net House is an excellent holiday home with a very cozy atmosphere. Having a large SUV, I was a bit curious about the parking. However, it was absolutely perfect. As stated in the description, there is enough parking for 2-3 vehicles. Everything about the house was just right. The kitchen had everything we needed. And, there was a very nice welcome basket with wine, juice, cake, and biscuits waiting for us. What a great surprise! The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was very clean. The garden was fully enclosed and very private/secure. The owner was very responsive whenever we had questions about anything. The village amenities are only a short walk away. We ate dinner at the local pub which was only a 7-10 minute walk. I would strongly recommend The Net House to anyone looking for the perfect holiday spot. We will definitely be back.
