Less than two and a half hours from NYC, ten minutes from Belleayre Ski Center, this cozy and private cabin is perfect for a romantic couples retreat, two couples, a small family, or a group of friends looking for a relaxing and quiet escape. *Unlimited High-Speed Broadband Wifi Internet now provided*
We're just a short drive from Phoenicia, Woodstock, and Margaretville for shopping, dining and river tubing, and 140 miles from NYC (about 2 1/2 hours from the GW bridge), and we're just 1/2 mile from the NYC bus route, with buses leaving Port Authority several times a day. Plus, we get great cell phone service through Verizon, a rare thing in this part of the world. Fall foliage here is equal or better than anywhere in Vermont or New Hampshire. Shampoo, soap, lotions will be available on premise. Netflix account is set up and ready for your viewing pleasure!

House was in great condition, very clean and Maria was very nice. About 10 minutes from Belleayre Mountain. Peekamoose restaurant about 15 minutes away was very good as well.

We had a wonderful time! The cabin was spotless, beautiful views. We enjoyed the area, taking a few field trips, or just relaxing on the property. Maria is a great house, responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Be sure to book this secluded restful cabin if you are heading to beautiful upstate NY. Btw 5g wireless was a blessing, was able to do a bit of business no problems!

We really loved this property. Close to Bellayre and only about 20 minutes to Plattekill. Very clean and quiet, no complaints at all. Will stay again if we get the opportunity!

Mediocre place

The place wad dusty and old. The interior was very hodgey podgey, cheap, and def not done by someone who has been in the hospitality industry. A lot of stuffā€™s seemingly belong to the people who owns the place left behind like old foods, personal items, half eaten condiments, dead flies by window sills. Many things looked and felt un-intentional for guests staying. For example, bunk bed on the second bedroom had bunch of trash bags full of their own stuffs with sign that says donā€™t move. The entire stay I felt like staying at a strangers house while they were away. Felt creepy and unwelcome. At least bed sheets smelled washed and not used before my stay and coffee machine worked I wish people who is going to rent their house knew the basic Concepts of hospitality business...

Think twiceā€¦I will never think twice about reading bad reviews again

The location was remote, more so than we thought with multiple hills. I got car sick from the drive but I will say Maria let us check in early. The cottage was smaller in person but had a smell of being closed for too long, we had to air the place out. I was concerned about the back door, it appeared that someone tried to kick it in and there was a lock on outside of the 2nd bedroom, we decided to stay away from that room. We were not supplied wood even though the listing shows the wood stove. Go get wood, we had to bc it was so cold. Even with the thermostat elevated, the location was cold. We had to keep the wood door to the stove open to keep warm and the heat did not travel to the bedroom that didnā€™t have a lock. During our stay, I fell skiing and had to be carried down the mountain, I hurt my knee and hip. I woke up the next morning to a nose bleed. We decided to leave early. I washed all the dishes, we separated the recyclables and garbage. Left the cardboard boxes by the door on the counter, we didnā€™t want to leave anything outside to attract animals. I cleaned the counter tops and we tried to walk the rooms to pick up anything left behind. There was one peoce of a stick on the floor that I couldnā€™t pick up bc of my knee. Maria wrote this crazy review that we left the location a mess! The listing had a cleaning charge.We even shoveled bc it kept snowing. The drive way is steep, we had to be careful. She went on a rant that we drove on her pavers, the snow covered them

Hog cabin delight!

We had a great experience with Hog Cabin. The place was clean and perfect for our family of 3. It was less than 10 minutes to Belleayre which was perfect as we were up there to ski! Maria was quick to respond with any questions we had. You will need to bring firewood if you plan to make a fire (and you will want to - it makes the cabin nice and cozy!) We had fun spying the hidden characters in the cabin as well. Pro Tip: Check out Tito Banditios in Pine Hill for delish Mexican (make a reservation)or Goatie Whites in Fleishmanns for Italian fare.mexica

Feels like home!

Thanks to Maria for opening up this warm and cozy cabin. We really enjoyed our stay, especially since we got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day there, which made the whole experience even more special. Maria was very responsive to our questions, and the cabin had everything we needed. The hot water came out really fast and hot, which was definitely appreciated after a ski trip! The cabin is also very convenient to Belleayre Ski Resort. During our stay, it snowed overnight, and by the next day, the driveway was cleared, allowing us to get home safely. It's the little details like this that made our experience so memorable. We loved the fireplace, and my kids had a blast playing in the snow outside. Weā€™ll definitely be back!

Beautiful cabin

The cabin is in a relaxing setting with views. We enjoyed using the fire pit in the evening. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. My husband and I wanted to get away alone and relax and that is what this property delivered. Secluded but close to market, restaurants etc. The hostess Maria is quick to respond to any inquiries. Highly recommended!

Wonderful piece of Heaven on Earth

The property was exactly as described and the area is simply beautiful. We saw many birds as well as turkeys and deer. Our favorite thing was waking up in the morning and watching the bunnies in the yard while drinking our coffee in the comfy bed. I appreciate the parking being out of the yard as it preserves the beauty of the landscape. Thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and parts of the surrounds areas.

A Perfect Getaway

This was our second stay, but it won't be the last. The property is charming and cozy. It was too cold to sit by the outside fire, so we used the fireplace and it was perfect.

Great Place To Stay!!!!!!

This place with everything we hoped it would be and then some. Hosts were easily accessible. The whole hog theme of the cabin was a great touch. We were there to hike and found a ton of trails in the area. We would definitely stay again and recommend this place to anyone.

A few days away from somewhere.

(Ironically typed in all caps) QUIET!! Comfy/cozy. Super clean - one little problem with some food left by a previous visitor, but judging from the rest of the place, we considered that an oversight and not part of the hostā€™s ethic. Nice spot! Nestled in the mountains and nice views from the property. Sunrise from the MBR, Sunset from the LR. Small cabin (778sqft) but it does NOT feel that way. Very well designed with nice flow and feng shui. The centerpiece is the fireplace with stove insert (it actually holds the house up!) and we made good use of that as we were there in cold/damp late March. Wraparound deck which we wouldā€™ve used more at a different time of year but I did morning a stretching out there in the sunlight. We were escaping greater NYC. Mostly stayed in, nestled by the fire doing writing, playing music, cooking, reading, and nappingā€¦ and spying the superhero action figures stashed in nooks and crannies around the cabin. We did grocery shopping in Kingston on the way in, but the convenience-store sized grocery in the hamlet at the bottom of the hill had some surprising variety, and thereā€™s an artisanal cheese store next door - the have a dairy farm nearby. Also a tavern there with music (although we didnā€™t avail ourselves of that.) They had a list of nearby to-dos that was nice if we hadnā€™t been such homebodies! And if you didnā€™t get it - itā€™s a good place to do that.

Convenient, as expected; Property Owner great w/ Communication

Stayed here over winter break with my kids to ski near by. My family enjoyed the hog-related items in the home as well as the the hidden super heros all around the property. Everything was comfortable. Sunrises were beautiful and communicating with the owner was a breeze. Thank you for the stay!

We are a small family of four who was looking for a little escape from the city and we definitely found it. We realized it wasn't feasible to come up every single weekend and then decided it would be a good idea to allow others to experience this amazing space.

You can literally hang out inside this property all day. It has the be the coziest space ever. The best part is that you don't have too because there is so much to do... Local restaurants, a new distillery, hiking, biking, skiing, a small beach, its all minutes away.

We provide an incredibly clean space with a fully stocked kitchen. We leave a nice bottle of red wine for you to unwind. We leave shampoo, conditioner, lotion so you don't have too! This is our space so we aren't looking to "pimp" it out so the cabin will maintain its great look.
