Driftwood Bungalow - approximately 15 private acres on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Dramatic views of waves crashing over rocks, see the tide ebb and flow, marvel at the sunset - all from your cozy living room and deck.

Every room was created with attention paid to detail...and a few quirky surprises...fish lights, murals on walls.....

Living Room opens onto the deck. Enjoy views of the ocean as you have your breakfast, play a game of monopoly or do a jigsaw puzzle while listening to sounds of the surf. Comfortable loveseat and chairs in the living room on one end and on the other there is a cream colored table with vibrant red leather chairs and a wonderful ocean view.

Open the french doors and walk out to admire the breathtaking view. Watch pelicans diving for fish, seals frolic in the surf and whales as they migrate. Sit and enjoy lunch on the deck picnic table or read a book in a comfy mesh chair with your feet propped up as you feel your cares slip away while the ocean breeze caresses your face.

In the family room you will find a huge sectional sofa and a 32 inch LCD TV for watching movies; DVD and VCR viewing only, no cable. There is a selection of movies or bring your family favorites. (Sectional is also a full-sized hide-a-bed.)

Master Bedroom has a Queen Bed outfitted with cozy flannel sheets. Pretty blues, pale teal, and rich chocolate brown highlight the master bedroom. Wonderful ocean-themed pictures and decorations complete the decor. Open your window at night and listen to the sounds of the ocean.

Second bedroom has a fun Surfing Theme with two twin beds. Flannel sheets and colorful Pottery Barn Quilts add to your comfort. Great room for the young...or young at heart!

The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for you. Dishwasher, Toaster, griddle, blender, coffee maker, microwave, utensils, waffle iron, gadgets galore and plenty of dishes/glassware for your use. Enjoy a view of the Point Arena Lighthouse from the dining table.

Two gas powered fireplaces warm your nights with the flick of a switch. Grab a cozy afghan, pick a spot and settle in to read the novel you've been meaning to! We have a lending library for your pleasure, sometimes one book just isn't enough!

Fenced yard off the deck, great for child and pet safety. Tuggy Tugboat Sandbox and sand toys for the tykes to enjoy.

The "Honeymoon Cottage", no longer available and occupied for years by a member of the cleaning service, has no common walls.

Beautiful location on the coast. Space is outdated and there is rental related signage throughout the home which kills the vibe a little. Woodfire stove wasn’t working in the main room, but no major issues with our stay.

Great communication, lots of information about the property. Cozy place with beach access and a beautiful view. It would have been nice to have both heaters (fireplaces) working. The kitchen is extremely well organized, the rest of the house is well suited for a whole family. Access to the trail to the beach could be improved by allowing access to the side gate versus the narrow switchback trail and perhaps providing an alternate path to the road (across the creek) since the trail ends in a large cluster of driftwood. The hot tub is nice but a privacy screen would also be nice since the adjacent house has windows near it. Personal preference would also be firmer matresses.

Absolutely stunning views of the coastline. We spent hours enjoying the beach and our dogs had a blast too. There is a huge backyard fully fenced to keep our pups safe.

The walking path to the beach was almost other worldly and our favorite part about the house. You’ll have to traverse over some logs to get to the beach itself so be careful - rather hazardous. The house was fine - beds were a bit on the uncomfy side but manageable. There’s a permanent resident living next door but she’s super-sweet and stopped by as soon as I sent a message about the toilet not working - toilet was fixed within the hour. Currently, both gas fireplaces are not working but there’s good heat via baseboard heaters. Hot tub was hot. Lots of board games, puzzles, and movies. Need to bring your own shampoo and soap for showers. Be sure to hop over to Point Arena for some good pizza and beer.

We’re had an enjoyable time even though the weather kept us inside. The house had plenty of space for us to stretch out and relax. The kitchen has adequate pots, pans…for whatever you plan to make. The walk down to the beach is fairly easy until you get to the log jam. There is a path through, though it’s on the other side of the creek—wear good-grip shoes and be familiar with how to boulder walk as it’s slippery and unstable in areas. For ease of access, you are better off driving down to Irish Beach. Note if you have a dog, they are not allowed at Manchester State Beach.

Beautiful views of the ocean. Lots of things to do near by.Walk to the beach is steep and not for the weary. Very relaxing and much needed rest after chemo.

We always enjoy our stay at Driftwood. This time we planned on a getaway weekend where we just stayed at the house all day because it was just so relaxing. My favorite part is the back room where you can sit and see the view. We'll be back!

Everything was easy. The information about the house was clear, everything we needed was provided, the jacuzzi with the views of the ocean at sunset was heavenly! The house was clean and comfortable. We also had easy access to town.

Our trip to Manchester on July 20th (Driftwood) was bad. Besides being too far away we experienced losing power on Monday and Tuesday morning (maybe 2 hours) on half of the house. Tuesday, July 22, 2025 we also had no water. We left and returned home on the 22nd of July even though we were scheduled to leave Friday morning.

4 Nights at Driftwood

We stayed at Driftwood for a long birthday weekend. First thing to note is the deck/ view/ fenced in grass backyard is unmatched. This was our favorite thing about Driftwood and we really loved spending our mornings and afternoons out on the deck and playing games in the backyard. Second thing to note is if you have a doodle and are very allergic to dogs that are not hypoallergenic you will suffer from the moment you walk in the front door because of the carpet. Third thing to note is we have been coming to the CA coast for 13 years now and North of Fort Ross for 5 years now. Never have we experienced ticks like we did at Driftwood. Our first night we went out the gate to check out the walk to the beach and just made it to the first set of chairs and back as it was getting dark. Upon return to Driftwood we discovered 30 ticks on our 20 lb mini golden doodle and on myself as I had lifted him up the stairs and onto the deck. This of course has nothing to do with Driftwood itself but I would have loved to discover this in a review prior to the trip as the beach walk was one of the reasons we chose this VRBO. That said we carried him down the 3/4 mile grass road our first morning and did not have a problem with ticks. The beach is stunning and well worth a trip. Fourth thing to note is the furniture is very uncomfortable. Fifth thing to note is Rose is not 14 acres away, she is in your backyard. She did however make herself scarce.

OK place, Especially for a family

We stayed just one night of a planned 3 night reservation as my sinuses may have reacted to the shag carpeting, which might need to be cleaned or upgraded. The site is beautiful though and the manager was helpful. Thanks

Cozy cliffside retreat

Very comfortable little house, warm and cozy with a gorgeous view of the Pacific, strong recommend!The email communication from the host prior to check in was overkill--36(!)attachments of repetitive information that made it hard to know what the salient points were. But once we were there, peace and quiet and comfort.

Views so beautiful you don't even need to leave!

We had a wonderful long weekend stay here. The views are absolutely stunning and we know for our next visit to build in some days just to lounge around and appreciate the beach access.

We lived in the charming back room of the house that fronts on the ocean and loved parking the car and having a magic, private, chair studded walk to the beach. So intimate with the ocean every moment of the stay!!!

2nd visit to Driftwood!

This is our second stay within 2 years at Driftwood! Everything was just as perfect as before! We brought our dog again, and he adored the path to the beach. We were fortunate to have perfect weather and enjoyed many beautiful ocean views! We are looking forward to returning for a third time in the future!

In my mind, I'm still at the Driftwood Cottage!

Just a perfect spot! The yard and fields and path to the beach are so peaceful and private. The sitting point overlooking Driftwood Beach and the ocean is a high point of this experience for me! The cottage itself is perfect! Clean and well appointed. The home is a bit on the older side, but it is extraordinarily well-maintained and has nearly everything you need for a wonderful visit. I will re-visit often, even if only in my memory!

Little house on the coast

Everything was absolutely amazing pictures of the scenery and the house were true to there word even when out of a few things Rose who is amazingly sweet and kind was quick to fill the request and make sure we had everything we needed 10/10 I will definitely be trying to stay here again.
