Wonderful stay at a great property and perfect location in paradise

Our family of 5 had a terrific stay in this high-end property. We loved its location in the Mauna Lani resort, in direct walking distance to shops and restaurants, and with a great private beach club and pool too. The property itself was well-stocked with all needed amenities and many extras.

Beautiful and clean!!!

This is our second year renting this beautiful home! The owners and property managers are incredibly responsive and helpful. The house is located so close to beaches, shops and restaurants and yet so quiet and private. Love, love this place.

Great Location for Everything

We had a great stay! It was large and had more than enough room for 5 adults. It has many spices, bags and oils so you should check before buying. I loved the AC, showers and living room area. They do need to update their microwave and tvs in the upstairs bedrooms. I would definitely stay here again especially with the use of the beach club.

Perfect location on the Big Island

We had a wonderful stay at the Villages in Mauna Lani! The floor plan of the condo is excellent and provides plenty of room for a family whether they want to be all together or have some private time to themselves. The unit is well appointed and we had everything we needed during our stay. The proximity to the grocery store was much appreciated and made meal planning and picking up last minute items very convenient. The pool and private beach were perfect for the grandchildren and we used them every day. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful stay at the Villages of Mauna Lani

Amazing home in the beautiful gated Villages of Mauna Lani. Four of us had plenty of room to stretch out in this wonderfully appointed two story home. We opted to cook in the spacious kitchen for most of the trip. Plenty of seating for us and another guest family who joined us for dinner a couple of evenings. This home comes with beach access to the private Manua Lani Beach Club. It is perfect for snorkeling or spending a day sunning. The Napua restaurant at the beach club offers cocktails and lunch items and at sunset it transforms into a gourmet restaurant complete with the perfect sunset view. Check in at the home was a breeze and communication was 5 stars with the host! We can't wait to return!

Big Island Christmas Week with a perfect home base

Phenomenal home base for our family of 7 to spend Christmas week on the Big Island. Excellent and prompt communication with the owner leading up to the trip, and a friendly welcome from the host when we arrived. First off, the home was perfect in size, cleanliness and amenities. Loved the outdoor cooking and eating space, kitchen spacious for family meals, and spaces spread out for everyone to take a break from forced family fun time :D Access to the beach club was great (and enjoyed walking down there in the mornings through the lava park by the ponds), and the shops at Mauna Lani (especially the grocery store a few steps away) were super convenient for food, coffee, and the extra outdoor clothing/items which teenagers tend to forget to pack. Location was quiet, peaceful and beautiful, and the short drive access down into town was perfect. Was hard to leave at the end of our trip - amazing property!

Hello. First of all, the property was really great and I would consider staying again. For those who might be concerned about the property being close to the shopping center/mall, it is located on the “quiet” side of the mall, where the grocery store is located. The grocery store closes early and there were no issues ever with noise, etc. Additionally, the property is located near the entrance/gate to the community. Initially, I was concerned about this but it turns out that there is a landscaped hill that separates the property from the gate/entrance. Once again, no issues ever with noise, headlights, etc. Keep in mind that there is no view from the property and one has to drive to the beach (or ride the provided bikes). Mahalo for a great property.

Great Time

We traveled to the Big Island with five other couples to have some fun and play golf. We actually rented two places - one of which was Kathryn's. It was very nice - even better than the pictures! The owner, Kathryn, was very easy to deal with - professional and concerned that everything was perfect. The condo is close to shopping and very centrally located within the Mauna Lani Resort. We have traveled to Mauna Lani for the past 18 years and this was our first experience renting a condo there. However we have rented several properties thru VRBO - always successful. We definitely prefer to rent directly from the owner to avoid any problems. I guess the best review I can give is that we will definitely rent this unit again! Thanks Kathryn for everything.

Beautiful, spacious, wonderfully supplied townhouse in Kohala

Oh! We had such a marvelous time staying at The Big Island Pad! It was the perfect location on the Kona coast, enabling easy access to fabulous beaches, sights, and activities. The complex pool was just a few steps always and was lovely and warm. The beach at private beach club, a short 5-minute drive away, was FANTASTIC, with great snorkeling and swimming. A big grocery store and several great restaurants were just steps away. The unit itself was spacious and beautifully appointed, and the kitchen was better equipped than my own. The pantry staples like spices and olive oil were very much appreciated! We mentioned a few small maintenance issues (closet light not working, slow-draining sink) and that very day the handyman took care of them. I would recommend The Big Island Pad to anyone wanting the perfect home base for Kona!

Beautiful Slice of Hawaii!

We spent 10 nights at this spacious condo and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It was like staying at a 5 star hotel with all the amenities of home. We particularly appreciated the full size washer and dryer and gas bbq grill. The kitchen was large with a full line of custom appliances. The craftsmanship throughout was exceptional and well-maintained. Access to the private beach was fantastic -- the snorkeling was the best we've ever experienced. It is within walking distance to a grocery store (Foodland), several restaurants and shops. We didn't try any of the restaurants because we ate in many nights - making use of the gas grill. This property had access to an air conditioned exercise room with treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, weight machines, free weights and a small selection of dumb bells. For any questions we had, Kathryn was always responsive. It would be nice if all owners were so accessible! Without a doubt, we would recommend this condo to friends and family. We look forward to coming back again!

Absolute Perfection!

This was our first stay on the Big Island. We had originally booked on Maui but then the fire happened and our home was needed to house displaced families so we switched to this island. We were so happy to find this place because it was similar to what we had booked on Maui. We were a family of 6 adults and wanted space to spread out and this was it! Kathryn was fabulous - we arrived late on Thanksgiving night and she was willing to purchase some frozen pizzas and POG for us to leave in the fridge because everything would be closed and we'd be starving when we arrived. But, there is an upscale Food Land literally next door that opened at 6 am the next day so it as easy to get food for breakfast. The house was clean and comfortable. We loved that every bedroom was an ensuite. The beds were very comfy and the air conditioning worked great with separate upstairs and downstairs units. The kitchen was very well equipped and after a run to Costco, we cooked a couple of meals a day at the house. We loved the walls of sliding glass. It was lovely to open them in the morning and evening and catch cross breezes. Bonus that they all had screens to keep the critters out but let the breeze in. We loved this house and the host was the best. I'm a travel agent and will recommend it 100% to anyone looking for a great stay on the Big Island!

We had an amazing stay. Everything was made easy. The house was ready when we arrived, it was stocked with everything you could need, and the owners were simply amazing. When we go on vacation, we want it to be stress free. That’s exactly what we got. Far exceeded our expectations!

Outstanding Property and Vacation

Our first time staying in Mauna Lani and this property was outstanding. Very well stocked and in an excellent location! Access to the beach in Mauna Lani and an outstanding pool for our grandkids were two of the highlights! Kathryn was incredibly responsive and one of the best owners we have every dealt with in all of the years we have rented property in Hawaii and in other parts of the world. We will be back!

Nice property

This was a nice property for a relaxing time. There were lots of beach accessories in the garage, although not well organized. The pool was a little disappointing in size, but was well kept.

Mauna Lani is situated in the heart of the sunny Kohala coast. As past renters in Mauna Lani we found the The Villages to be the perfect combination of resort living (with easy access to it's amenities) yet peaceful and relaxing. The expansive lanais at The Villages invite you to live outside!

We like the privacy of the homes, quality of construction and close proximity to the shops. The Villages' pool has a very nice temperature that is great for kids of all ages!

We enjoy hanging out at the beach club and taking walks through the lava caves and fishponds. We love to play golf and tennis in Mauna Lani!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Returning guests to The Villages are pleasantly surprised by how private our unit is. There are no homes looking into our backyard. During the initial phase of construction, a lava wall was built between our unit and the next. We have been told that the cost of this wall became too expensive to replicate throughout the development so it is unique to our place! In addition, we think you'll love our home because of the open layout to the large private lanai and yard. Our home is professionally decorated with Tommy Bahama furniture and soothing paint colors- Resort furniture can be aesthetic but uncomfortable, we have the perfect mix of aloha with the added benefit of the most comfortable sectional couch you will ever lounge on! We want you to feel at home while on your vacation in paradise!

We also want to make sure you have the fasted WIFI possible. We have upgraded to 12 volt Ruckus AP power supplies around the house to ensure the best signal everywhere in addition to a fancy self healing modem.

You'll enjoy the quick walk to the shops for the newspaper in the morning and the short stroll to the pool. We provide Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 2 cruiser bikes and beach/pool toys for our guests to use.
