Hale Ohe - Best Value Beachfront Home Steps from Beach

The Hale O’he (Bamboo House) is twenty feet from an intimate white sand beach. All levels have lanais which invite you to relax and enjoy our beautiful Hawaiian sunsets. The kitchen and dining areas are open and spacious. The home sleeps six and has two bedrooms and three full baths, laundry facilities, and a fully equipped kitchen. One King, two Twins in upstairs guest bedroom and two day beds in corner of living room. Twin beds in the guest bedroom upstairs can be converted to a King for an additional $35 and notice required prior to arrival. A/C in bedrooms and living room as of May 2023!

“A Smith-Waterhouse Beach Home” This home is located on property that has been in the family since 1850. Learn about this missionary-doctor family history in the book, “100 Years of Healing” by Evelyn Cook.

(Receptions, Luau's and Parties of any kind are strictly prohibited)

This property includes beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler and umbrella. Please feel free to call us if any of these items are missing during your stay.

not modern but comfortable

We had a nice stay. The house is very outdated, but we had a good time. The small beach right in front of the house was always very busy, with many families with small children there. Unfortunately, there was not much shade, but we were able to protect ourselves from the sun with towels hung up.

What a wonderful place!

We were amazed upon our arrival. The beach is just beyond the front yard...what a sight! There was plenty of room and waking up to crashing waves was so relaxing. I highly recommend staying here!

We live in Colorado, and we left a lot of very cold weather there. We have seen Hale Ohe' be well maintained and cared for all these years. It is just a delightful place to be. The beach is so beautiful, and the sunsets are beyond compare. This little house has everything for a quiet restful experience.

(Two couples)The waves and oceanfront beach access were undeniably the best assets. Turtles on the beach daily and close to restaurants and shopping. The public beach ( directly in front of the house) was very busy but we got our beach chairs out first thing to guarantee a spot right near the home. Great experience!

Beach front.

Flakes fell off the ceiling in the 2nd bedroom the whole time we were there. It got in my hair at night, it was all over the comforter and the floor. The toilet paper holders are not very sturdy. The showers could use updating. The location was beautiful and stunning. We loved the views.

Fantastic!

Perfect location for our family which included a 4 year old and an 8 year old! Can't get any closer to the beach and the ocean, with beautiful sunsets as an added bonus. Loved the property. Would stay again, and again and again.....

Several rainbows each day.The house was immaculate and kitchen well appointed.The office staff jumped right on small issue and had someone there to fix it within an hour. We will definitely be back!

Beach area is well suited for young children (shallow) but beautiful. We opened up all windows for the nice sounds of the surf all night. Wonderful week.

Location is AWESOME!

Cannot get any closer to the beach than this! Location, location, location! Also, super responsive with communication. Cannot go wrong with rental. One small caveat- there is a walkway directly beside house. Resulted in vehicles parking around the property and people walking in and out. (Small annoyance compared to everything else)

We found the two weeks stay with no need for any customer service. Everything functioned and all of our needs were met from the beginning. We have recommended Garden island Rentals and friends and family have used them. The design of the house is perfect with all rooms facing the beach.

Amazing views!

This property was amazing, as advertised! A perfect location, right on the beach. The house was beautiful, with spacious bedrooms, a great kitchen and living space downstairs with several sliding doors that open up straight onto the beautiful deck for viewing gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. We'd definitely stay here again!

Baby Beach Bliss

We had a fabulous time at Hale Ohe right on Baby Beach. The house was immaculate and well stocked, we ate nearly all our meals on the beautiful porch overlooking the ocean, and it was close to Poipu but away from all the hotel action. Perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers, but would suit a family including ALL ages. YES - we did see babies on the beach every day !! 💜

It is the BEST location, we'd rent again & again. (and have)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Hale Ohe'.2 minor inconveniences -1.I used the supplied WD-40 to get the sliding screen to the lanai to operate properly. The maintenance people should have done it. 2. A west facing lanai screen is needed( their used to be one.)The master bedroom was almost perfect- really good bed, but lamps too dim to read -sliding screen to upper lanai completely inoperable( needs WD-40). Bathrooms good -Kitchen fine - could outside trashcan be locked? others put some disgusting trash in it. Downstairs lamps very dim.Staff has always been helpful.Another PLUS shops and restaurants at Kukuiula are walking distance - lots of Very Good restaurants.
