The Catbird Seat private paradise home is the closest location to Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach of ANY vacation rental. 2 Bedrooms sleep 4. Your choice of twin beds or a King in the 2nd bedroom.

This ideal spot is just across from the world famous Brennecke Beach and Poipu Beach Park. It is located on the corner of Hoone and Kuai Rd so just step across to the beach and beach park!

With its lovely island style furnishings, lush tropical gardens and exquisite ocean views over a small beach frontage road, this home offers a true paradise for your Kauai vacation. From your front covered lanai, watch the boogie boarders, whales, turtles, and dolphins. Then step across the road and you are there! Beach towels, umbrella, cooler, and chairs are provided.

The small tropical garden front yard gives you just enough privacy while relaxing in your private hot tub, yet preserving your ocean view while dining or relaxing on the full length lanai.

Amenities in this 1400sf home (plus 830sf of lanai) include private driveway parking, air conditioning, two spacious bedrooms with baths, a large great room, kitchen with eating bar, washer/dryer, outdoor shower, and stunning IPE wood flooring throughout.

Enjoy big screen HDTV , WiFi, two large walk-in showers, and a BBQ on the back lanai.

You have member privileges at the nearby Poipu Beach Athletic Club. Resort style swimming pool, tennis, basketball, weight room, fitness classes....included! Just a 15 minute walk away. Nothing is too good for our guests!

This home location can't be beat. Only 3 or 4 oceanfront homes in Poipu actually have a beachfront. Then try to find a restaurant/deli/bar or stores just a short walk away! No problem from here! The Poipu Beach Park lifeguard station is a three minute walk away where you can swim, watch sea turtles at the baby beach, and also experience some of the best snorkeling on the island. Brennecke's beach front restaurant is a two minute walk away -where ocean view dining and happy hour is only surpassed by The Catbird Seat!

Best location on the south side IMO. The best boogie boarding and great snorkeling are literally across the street. The house is comfortable and had everything we needed.

The house was in a perfect location across the street from the beach. We felt so lucky to be there and to sit on the porch and watch the water and then walk across the street to Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach. The house was beautiful, well-designed, spacious, and very comfortable. Everything we needed was there, including beach chairs and snorkels. This is an amazing place. We hope to come back.

The property was incredibly nice inside and out. The deck is perfect for sitting and watching the waves, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen has all you need - it felt like home.

Second time at The Catbird Seat, just as great as the last time. Very comfortable and spacious, right across from fun waves and love seeing the turtles. We prefer south shore Poipu over Hana, which is gorgeous but a little too laid back and the bridge gets rained out/closed due to weather occasionally, and Kapaa too busy. Poipu is just right. Definitely touristy cause the beach is great but the property is very private. Enjoy being able to use the gym up the road, and love Little Fish Coffee (closes by 1pm). The house is clean and well cared for, the A/C works amazingly when needed, the deck is relaxing and fun. The hot tub is clean, well kept, always hot, and easy to use. Love the outdoor shower, which includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash just like the in-house showers. Owner is responsive and easy to communicate with. Hope to be back again in the future. Thank you

Getaway with the parents beachside

The space was wonderful, clean and comfortable. Being able to walk out the door and onto the beaches was especially easy for my parents after many hikes to beaches. The proximity to amenities and nearby towns made it convenient for local adventures.

Fantastic House across from Brennecke’s Beach

My mom and I absolutely loved our stay at The Cat Bird Seat! My mom first visited Poipu Beach back in the 1970s. She remembered body surfing at Brennecke’s Beach and wanted to return. This was an absolutely fantastic location and we could scope out the surf at Brennecke’s right from the deck. We enjoyed taking in the sunset from the hot tub on the deck and walking to dinner in the evenings. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived and more spacious than the photos. The gorgeous view of the ocean really let us know we were on vacation! Highly recommend and hope to return someday!

Comfortable home in great location!

We have just returned from an 11-night stay at The Catbird Seat and had a great time! The home is exactly as pictured and in an ideal location for enjoying the park and nearby beaches. We enjoyed the sunset each night from the expansive lanai. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen as we prepared all of our meals at 'home', and though we didn't use them, appreciated all the beach stuff (umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, etc.) available for our use. Communication with the host prior to our stay was easy, and though we had no need to contact her, we were given contact info for a local person who could help with any problems should they arise.

Great stay at a perfect location

Property as described, the whole house and an excellent lanai overlooking the ocean - which you really can see (easily) and it takes 30 sec to walk to the beach. Outdoor shower is great for keeping sand out of the house. Fast wifi, sounds of surf all the time, and easy to get to the shops in Poipu/Koloa. Make sure to stop at Da Crack!

Most Beautiful View!

Very nice property right across from the beach. Just beware of the Roosters, they start about 2:30am and continue throughout the morning. After about the third day all we could do is laugh about them. It got us up early to enjoy the most amazing walks! Just a few things that would make it even more enjoyable, the kitchen appliances really need a good cleaning or replacement. The coffee pot definitely needs to be replaced. The second bedroom bed when put together should really have a topper so you don't fall thru when you are in the middle. Don't shut the bedroom doors when you go to bed, the air conditioners are only in the bedroom and the living area will get very warm. Of course this is when the weather is warm, which for Oct was a surprise, it was very warm still. You will enjoy how close you are to everything here, so if you don't have a car, you will still get around. I can't wait to return to Kauai!!!

Great for our family with teens!

I am so happy we went with this location. I was worried about the parking in front for the beach but they have built the garden in a way that it is not annoying and still feels very private. You can't even tell people are there most of the time! The house had everything we needed and I liked the rooms being on different sides of the house so the teens had their own space. We loved having the variety of the best beaches in walking distance and the wagon made it so easy to get the gear down to the beach. I would definitely stay here again if going to Poipu!

We Love The Cat Bird Seat!

We really loved staying here. The house met our needs completely. The location is unbeatable. The view is incredible. The beach is mere steps away. Too often places have too few towels, too few place settings, etc. This was NOT a problem here. Everything about this house feels generous, including the access to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club. Our kids lived in the pool when they weren’t in the ocean. We would love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Amazing, Again!

This was our second stay at this property, and it was as delightful as the first time. This place has everything I look for in a vacation rental, including an amazing location, a well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds, good water pressure in the shower, and lots of beach gear.
