Overall it worked out well for us. The room was a little dated, but clean. We had a dog with us and the room was appropriate for having a pet. The little kitchen was clean and stocked with clean dishes, etc.
The place was close to a restaurant called Nomans, which was quite good, with a relaxed atmosphere. The pool was nice. It was fenced off and the enclosure was clean and well maintained. The grounds were perfect for walking the dog, and they had complimentary dog bags and trash receptacles in various locations.
The location was nicely situated between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown.
The cleaning staff was excellent, however with a dog it was hard to plan the day if we wanted to have a meal and leave her in the room because they cleaned different times each day, some days before 12pm and other days closer to 5pm. However, the staff who cleaned the rooms did an excellent job and were very nice.
The biggest criticism would be around the tennis courts (club). When we booked the room the tennis courts were featured in photos, the description, etc. The reality is that they were not included, and would cost us an additional $18 per person each time we would want to play. Apparently it is a tennis club within the place but not affiliated. This was falsely advertised. Also, the tennis courts were directly behind our building and the people coming to play (not Guests) took Guest parking spots. The woman who ran the tennis club had a small dog off leash who we always afraid we would hit because the parking was precarious at best.
As far as customer service, the woman who checked us in was lovely. She saw it was my birthday on my driver’s license and gave me some complimentary chocolate covered Oreos.
My husband went into the office several times for coffee and felt it was generally a pleasant experience, however a couple of the employees (both male) did not greet him and he overheard them having unprofessional conversations around a wedding and with the tennis club manager about someone having an accident with their car.
Again, overall all good experience, but they definitely have opportunities to improve some things.
