Beach Accesses: There are several convenient beach accesses! All you have to choose is how you want to get there!
Below are 3 of the most popular accesses:


 


Gulf Lakes Beach Access: The Gulf Lakes access is a Walton County beach access located about 1 mile to the East of Prominence. This is a small access and can be easily missed.


 


Deer Lake State Park: Deer Lake is located 0.5 miles West of Prominence. While it is popular, there are a few things to keep in mind: There is a small parking area at the access (approx. $3 for parking) Bathrooms are also available at the access. The walk from the parking area to the beach is a bit longer than most area accesses. IMPORTANT - Because this is a state park, and not a Walton County beach access, alcohol is not allowed. Beach service is not available at this location either.


 


Santa Clara: Santa Clara access is a Walton County, ADA approved, beach access located near Bramble Grove Road, about 3.5 miles to the west of Prominence.


 


Community Pool: The Town of Prominence offers a 2 large resort style community pools! The New Prominence South Pool is located just steps from Fish Came True and features a stunning fire pit! The North Pool is over 5,000 sq ft and is just a short walk across 30A with cabanas, grills, bathhouse, and fitness center!


 


The Prominence North Pool is also Seasonally Heated for the following months every year:
October & November
March & April

Community Pool: The Town of Prominence offers a large resort style community pool over 5,000 sq ft! The pool is a very short distance from this unit! Enjoy cabanas, grills, a bathhouse, and fitness center!

Great, quiet location in the midst of the chaos
The house is located near Alys Beach which has lovely restaurants but geared more towards adults, which worked for us. The public beach which we frequented was Walton Dunes, which was absolutely perfect. The house was located in a quiet community with lots of families. The pool was highly populated but younger children so we spend most of our time at the beach. We were traveling with two 17-year old girls and two 13-year old girls. The house had plenty of space and towels. 😊. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner. It is not provided. I wish the house had kleenex too. When we chose this house it was advertised with a golf cart but by the time our vacation arrived, it didn't have one anymore. I would definitely book again in Prominence but would find a house with a golf cart next time. We missed having that to get around in. The furniture was a bit run down (lots of broken drawers) and broken kitchen drawers but we didn't mind and we didn't use the kitchen so it wasn't a big deal. Again, great location!

Cooked on a hot plate
The townhouse was clean and had the golf cart and bikes as advertised. BUT…As we first entered the living area/kitchen there was a repair ticket taped in red and yellow tape alerting us to not use the gas stove because it was in disrepair and the gas was turned off. After several calls to the after hours VRBO number we were assured the gas company had been notified and they would turn the gas on. The “vendor” had been contacted and stated the stove had been repaired. Either the vendor lied to the on call person or the on call person lied to us because the stove continued to be out of service. They advised me we could use a hot plate in the cabinet. I proceeded to cook 18 hamburgers on a hot plate. Unacceptable after paying these prices!!!!! The next day we continued to call. A repair man finally came in the evening and confirmed the stove had not been repaired and the gas had not been turned on. He found that the knobs were broken but showed us how we could turn the stove on (he cut the gas back on) without a knob. I had brought tons of food to cook in coolers and wound up dumping half of it when we left. Bottom line here is this: if you as the owner/manager know a paying customer is arriving-go to the rental in person-inspect the place-make 1000% sure everything is working and in place!!!! Put forth an effort instead of relying on computer generated texts to the guest. And, oh by the way, get staff covering after hours who do not lie to the customers!! Don’t rent this place!

It was a terrible experience
Upon arrival, we noticed that the place was not clean. Those white sofa and any white furniture in that house was stain and dirty. There were large stain on the sofa that we were not comfortable sitting on. It was quiet disgusting. Moving on the kitchen we notice the stove top was not working. There have been work order there that said out of service since July 8th. Our trip was July 27 to 30th and we were not inform at all. We bought thing to cook from him that was wasted. We had to go out to eat everyday for 4 days straight as a family of 8. This was such a big inconvenience. I inform them of this and they said to use the hot plate. Hot plate are not easy to cook with and go in and out of temperature. We didn’t cook any of the food we packed. Also the power plug by the kitchen stove did not work. Then we went into the garage where we saw it was dirty, full of sand and an unorganized mess. No attempt to try and clean from previous stay. Very disappointed at that. Moving on upstair the sink in the restroom was clogged. We inform them of all of this and said they will send someone out there. No one came. We had to unclogged our own sink. Overall the only thing that work was the bed and the ac. We felt it was dirty, not true to photo shown on the listing and truly disgusted and disappointed. With all of this inconvenience all they offer was 95$ refund, which was a slap in the face. This company only care about taking your money.

The perfect location!
Absolutely, an amazing vacation! Ours came with a golf cart and a few bicycles plus we were only a walk away from the hub which has tons of food and things for all the family today.
