Well appointed apartment in rural VT

The apartment had everything you could want. Inside was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and Katie welcomed us with fresh VT coffe and syrup. The bed linens were soft and comfortable. Unfortunately, the outside doesn’t reflect what you get on the inside. Look past your first impression and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Thank you for your kind review. It reminded us to include details about our on going renovations in the description so that future guests are not surprised. The apartment is located in the upstairs of our barn that is attached to our home. The buildings are approximately 125 years old and are brimming with rustic charm & character. That being said we have recently begun the daunting task of renovating the exterior of the property. As a result there are currently missing shutters and facia boards as well as peeling paint but by next summer we hope to have everything complete.

neat and very clean, just what we were looking for

This little place was perfect for our needs. My grandchildren live near by and they were the reason for our visit. Katie was kind enough to let them sleep over and also have use of her back yard. Also, my son visited from Boston and stayed 3 nights for a fee which was more than reasonable. Had a bit of trouble with the WiFi to which Katie and Steve attended to right away. Loved the premium channels and Pandora music. The place was so clean and kitchen supplies were very generous. We had so much fun there. The maple syrup was great and used. Would recommend and use this place again in a heartbeat. Our first experience with service and was extremely satisfying. Wonderful hosts!

Coming Back

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at the Barn Apartment. It is charming & comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our one month stay. Richmond is a lovely town; walkable and interesting with plenty to do....and at the same time a close drive to Burlington and other noteworthy towns, museums and nature walks to explore. We are coming back this Winter!

Wonderful winter stay!

This property was terrific! We had such a wonderful time, only 20 minutes from Burlington. We worried coming up for a weekend during one of the coldest weeks, but the pellet stove and electric heating in the apartment kept us perfectly warm during our stay. The keypad access was very convenient and the driveway was cleared so we could come and go as we pleased even after a blizzard! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy winter getaway!

Everything just right

There is not much to say, this is everything described on the tin. The pellet stove made the rooms nice and warm, with plenty of blankets for the bedroom.

Lovely place

We had a fabulous stay, Katie couldn't have been more helpful with her places to visit. The apartment was lovely with everything we needed. Thanks for the maple syrup sorry we couldn't take it home, there was too much syrup in the bottle to take on the plane😂

Great Home Base To Discover Vermont

The apartment renovation is still in the works on the outside, but don't let that fool you. The inside is completely finished and is very clean and super cozy. We were able to set out in different directions from Richmond to easily discover Vermont. Katie was a super host and in addition to providing all the travel brochures we needed, gave us first-hand knowledge of special places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment and highly recommend it. Thank you Katie and Steve for a great Vermont experience.

Lovely and comfortable!

This was a wonderful spot to stay when I was attending a work conference in Burlington. It was quiet and comfortable, with everything we needed to feel at home. The town is lovely and walkable, and Katie and Steve were friendly and accommodating. If we're back in the area, we would definitely stay here again! Thank you for your hospitality!

Amazing vacation

Let me start this out by saying I've rented through HomeAway before and Katie is the nicest host I've had the pleasure of interacting with!!! The loft apartment was amazing!!! Perfect for my boyfriend and I for a short getaway. The apartment is extremely clean, and Katie has thought of including all the little odds and ends you'll need during your stay. (Including little extras like the bottle of Organic Maple syrup) The bed was the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept on!! I really appreciated Katie including the fragrance, and dye free soaps. As someone who is super sensitive to those kinds of things, I loved not having to worry about a possible reaction. The only issue we had was the rod which held the curtain that separated the kitchen and bedroom fell down a few times, but it was a quick and easy fix and certainly wasn't something to ruin the trip. Katie was even nice enough to offer plenty of suggestions on where to go and other activities to do that we had not thought of. It was really Katie's generosity and thoughtfulness that really made this trip enjoyable. She remembered when I booked our stay that I was planning this as a gift for my boyfriend's birthday, and suggested places I could get him a cake, and remembered that I said my boyfriend was a police officer. Overall this was an amazing trip and I will gladly rent from Katie again!!!

Fantastic getaway near Burlington and great outdoors fun!

I reserved the unit as it was near a wedding that I was attending and was so glad I did. It is in a really charming town near a few shops, brewery, Friday night farmers market with live music and restaurants. The unit had everything I needed including basics like dish and hand soap and some ground coffee and 1/2 and 1/2 too. The bed is quite comfortable and sheets are soft too. There were 2 fans and ac unit though it had cooled off quite a bit by the time I arrived so I didn’t need them but was glad for them. The owners are really friendly and offered lots of great ideas from swimming to hiking to dining options. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful time and one of the reasons why was staying in the barn. It was clean and very welcoming. The coffee and the syrup was a nice touch. The stores and restaurant within walking distance was very convenient. We where there to watch our son who plays on the Lake Monsters Team every night during our stay it was a great location to the field if you want to catch a game. Great sleeping weather. Steve, Katie, and boys just wanted to thank you again for working with us and being so kind:)

VT Weekend

The apartment was perfect for our family as we were in VT for a family wedding. There were toys for our girls to play with, and it was very friendly. Only thing I would note in the future would be to pack kid friendly dishes, since I was worried about our toddler breaking a glass.

Weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our first trip to Vermont and especially our stay in Richmond. The room was clean and private. We also appreciated all of the little extras (basket of flyers/maps detailing what to do in the area, generously stocked kitchen with condiments, spices and more). The hosts were friendly and gracious. We highly recommend!

Perfect Location and Accommodations!

Richmond and the Lovely Barn Apartment is a perfect location for an adventurous summer getaway! We were surrounded by numerous quickly accessible hikes and anything else you can think of to do outside. The apartment is perfectly appointed and the owner's are just a text or quick call away if you do need anything. The town of Richmond has a wonderful farmer's market on Friday evenings and the local brewery serves up tasty beers and fantastic tacos! You will be more than pleased when you book a stay here.

Beautiful and cozy!

This gorgeous barn apartment made our winter trip to Vermont into the perfect vacation. The apartment is really thoughtfully renovated, with everything we needed for sightseeing and snowboarding, relaxing, and even cooking up a few meals with amazing local ingredients. Katie was accessible whenever we needed and had great suggestions for things to do and see in the area. The pellet stove was an amazing feature to come back to after a cold day outside! Clean, cozy, and the bed really is the most comfortable we've ever seen. Thank you Katie and Steve for an amazing stay and we hope to be back many times!

Excellent cozy apartment for exploring VT

Katie has stocked this place with everything you would need for a warm & comfortable getaway just outside of Burlington. We used it as a home base for exploring Sugarbush and Stowe ski resorts. We will be back!

Village comfort!

The village barn apartment in Richmond was absolutely perfect for us. We loved the quaint and rustic post and beam construction along with the fact that it’s within walking distance to absolutely everything in the village. The apartment was well stocked with absolutely everything one might need from organic maple syrup to delicious coffee. We couldn’t have been more delighted and hoping for a return trip soon. Thank you Katie! PS: very comfortable bed

Very good hosts and very cozy apartment

The apartment has everything you need for your stay and very comfy. It is also very well located to visit Vermont and enjoy all the activities around. Richmond has a lot of nice place to visit and keep you busy. The hosts are very gentle and stay in touch with you before and during the stay to make sure everything is fine. Thansk Katie!

Well stocked, friendly, comfortable and cozy.

Walking distance to restaurants. Lovely rustic rental for two or a small family. Cozy. Well stocked with extras for cooking. Our hostess had great recommendations for local attractions and eateries. Loved it!
