If you are looking for a tranquil lakefront location to rest, relax, and rejuvenate with your family, this is it! The 'Long Lake Hideaway' features 100 feet of direct sandy water frontage and faces West for spectacular sunset views.

Long Lake is a premier inland lake known for its comfortable temperatures and clear sparkling water. It is the largest lake in Grand Traverse County and centrally located making it convenient to venture to local attractions. The vibrant downtown district of Traverse City is just a short drive away and includes excellent shopping and a wide variety of restaurants. Bon Appetit magazine, named Traverse City one of five top foodie towns in America. The surrounding area is abundant with incredible scenery and variety of activities. There is something for everyone to enjoy, from art and live music concerts, to hiking and biking trails, community events, golf, wine vineyards, and microbreweries.

The home spacious and comfortably appointed. It features four bedrooms and three full baths, all on one level. The master suite has a private bath and overlooks the lake. The kitchen includes plenty of storage and counter top space for meal preparation. The kitchen area is adjacent to a wet bar, and opens to the dining area and family room. The home is fully stocked with cooking equipment, linens, towels, and use of laundry room. For total comfort, the house has central air conditioning for those hot summer nights.

The lawn is a gradual slope to the lake with plenty of room for horseshoes or outdoor games. There is an outdoor gas grill, playscape for children, bonfire pit, and boat dock with swim ladders. Along the shoreline is a deck with table and chairs and provides the perfect spot for visiting, reading, and enjoying the lake. The water’s edge is shallow with a hard sandy bottom, perfect for small children to enjoy the lake.

Long Lake is an all sports lake and is great for fishing, water skiing, or tubing. It is unique in that it has four islands and fun to explore. For additional fun on the water, we have two kayaks for guests to use, plus a 24 ft pontoon boat available to rent by the week. We highly recommend guests consider renting the pontoon boat to fully enjoy a wonderful time on the lake.

The property was everything we had hoped for an more! Outstanding lake view with fantastic shallow beach sand area at water's edge for little ones. Pontoon boat rides were fantastic. Long Lake is very nice and has a lot to see when boating.Our host David was very communicative and took care of us very well. We had an outstanding vacation.

Family break on the lake

Quiet comfortable location away from all the congestion but just a short drive to restaurants and Traverse City. Plenty of room for family to spread out. Paddle boards and kayaks provided lots of fun and new experiences. Our host kept in contact with us throughout the process and during our stay making sure all of our needs were met.

Restful respite by the lake

The house was well set up for older adults, all on one floor. There are steps coming in from the garage, however. It was clean when we arrived. We enjoyed the lake view, and Long Lake is a lovely lake for boating. We were close enough to town to get there in a few minutes, but far enough out for peace and quiet. One of our favorite restaurants, Boones, is right up the road. Owner was nearby and responsive. Recommended.

Wonderful family vacation on Long Lake!

Our family of five - with kids ages 10, 8, and 5 - had a wonderful time at David's home on Long Lake! The home exceeded our expectations, was spacious and clean, and included everything we needed for a week long stay on the lake. David's communication was excellent, and he went above and beyond to help with any questions we had. The kayaks (included) and pontoon (extra cost) were a great addition to our time on the water. Long Lake south bay beautiful retreat

We stayed in this property from the end of July into the 1st week of August in 2022. It's nestled on a south eastern sand filled bay on Long Lake with a western view of every sunset. The beach area is less than 1-3ft deep and our grandsons loved swimming and chasing minnows almost everyday. We saw and heard loons, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets, and the lake is crystal clear for boating and fishing. The house is immaculate with 4 bed rooms, 4 full bathrooms and lots of space for a family to enjoy. Our host David was responsive and hospitable to every request. It was a wondrful blessing, we will cherish our memories for a lifetime!

Quality Family Time

This was our second year at David's Long Lake property and it was just as wonderful as the first. Staying here supports my goal of quality family vacation time, since everything we need and want is here and in good working order. Anything I could need for cooking is available and in good shape. The home is clean and spacious and the property very peaceful with neighbors that are rarely seen and never heard! The pontoon boat and kayaks are the perfect addition. Plenty of wood for bonfires too. The location is great because you have the serenity of being tucked away on the cove, but with a great view of the middle of the lake. Sandy beach is absolutely perfect for young kids or tossing a Frisbee. David, thank you for being so attentive and hospitable!

Exceptional Property

We had a wonderful stay at David’s house, and it was a pleasure to work with him. The location on the lake is ideal, in a quiet cove with sunset views. The sand at the lakeshore is hard and doesn’t get mucky right away like other spots on the lake. House is awesome for a crowd, can’t enough about how nice our stay was.

Perfect family getaway!

What an amazing week we had! The lake views were phenomenal, the house was clean and comfy, and we loved being just a short distance from lots of fun activities — Sleeping Bear Dunes, river tubing, winery tour, Traverse City shops and restaurants, hiking and a movie theatre. David is the friendliest, most hospitable host we’ve ever met — he truly made our week enjoyable! The kayaks, boat and deck right outside the back door were definitely a plus! I would highly recommend this property!

Summer Memories

What an ideal vacation setting! Beautiful home with breathtaking views of Long Lake. The shoreline is sandy and perfect for young children. Long Lake has a variety of fish! We fished several times a day and caught some delicious fish. The sunset cruises on the pontoon boat were lovely. We made so many memories! I can’t wait until next summer to stay at this house on Long Lake so close to Traverse City, Michigan. The homeowner could not have been more gracious and helpful! Everything was in tip-top shape and spotless. Thanks for a terrific vacation!

Wonderful for children!

The property was a great location. The owner is very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. It was very nice for children because the lake was very shallow and sandy. We enjoyed our stay. Communication with the owner was always quick, too.

Very relaxing vacation

Stayed here during Labor Day weekend for three nights. The place was definitely more spacious than we thought it would be. We had 6 adults and 3 children. We all fit very comfortably. What else can we say, there was a beautiful view of the lake, a firepit and firewood, an outside grill that we put to use everyday, two living areas, and the host, David, was completely an easy person to work with. Only thing I wish for differently, I wish that we had booked more than three nights. I rated this a five star because it deserved five stars. Thank you David.

Wonderful Accomodations!

My daughter, her friends, and I all found the home to be perfect: Well kept, super comfortable and well appointed. We have rented elsewhere many times before and found this home to have everything we thought we needed for a great time...and even a few things we forgot! The boat and kayaks were convenient and dependable and the sunset views and stars at night were beautiful.

Spacious, comfortable, everything we needed and all that we wanted in a lakefront property!

We loved so many things about this property. Great location to easily get to downtown Traverse City, as well as the local grocery store just 7 minutes up the road. The property is in a terrific spot on a sizable cove on the lake, so we had a great view of all the lake action while feeling like we were in a quiet area. Best sandy beach frontage we’ve seen in all our years of vacationing in this area. Really enjoyed the 2 kayaks and we were very glad we rented the pontoon boat as well. We do a lot of cooking/grilling and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Plenty of space and seating both inside and outside the house. Neighbors were very considerate and really, we rarely saw them. Bonfires and sunsets couldn’t have been any better. We are looking forward to our return next year. Thank you David for your warm hospitality!

Great lake getaway!

Great little family getaway. I have two kids, 8 and 6. Perfect spot on the lake, the kids could play in the water right by the house as it was shallow enough for them. The lake is beautiful, took our fishing boat and the kids enjoyed the daily boat rides. House was great size, nice and clean. Overall a great experience!

Perfect family vacation❤️

We stayed here 7/14-7/21/2018, it was our annual family vacation. The house was big and roomy for all of us, 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 6. The waterfront was great for the kids, clear, Sandy bottom and shallow, they were in every day. We rented the pontoon boat with the property and it's a must to do to see the beautiful lake and the islands. David is a great host very helpful and always there with anything we needed. We plan on returning next year.

Long Lake Hideaway, a wonderful stay

What helped make this stay special was David. My wife's brother passed away just before our stay was to start and David was very understanding and allowed us to modify our stay to accommodate all the arrangements. When you are renting from people you don't know there is always a little concern about who you are dealing with, you don't have to worry about David. Over the several months dealing with my brother in-laws illness and the potential impact on our stay David showed his compassion and integrity. The house was great, very spacious and clean. The water had a great sandy bottom and the bulkhead and dock were great to sit on and watch the sunsets. All the furnishings, linens and towels were nice. What you see in the photos for the house is what it is. If you are looking for a great place on the lake from a person you can trust this is the place for you.

What a wonderful place to relax and make family memories!

This well maintained vacation home surpassed all of our expectations! The owner was helpful, the home was in an incredible setting, and the accommodations were comfortable! Fishing, swimming, boating on Long Lake filled our week! Memories were made during our wonderful week! We can’t wait until next summer to return to this idyllic place!
