Kihei Bay Surf Studio #144 is a beautifully remodeled studio with a new split system A/C that can sleep up to 3 with a queen bed and a queen Tommy Bahama sofa bed. The unit is conveniently located on the lower level, and the lanai overlooks the pool area. This tiled unit features new split A/C system, a fully equipped kitchen with a full stove, new stainless dishwasher, new refrigerator, and tiled counter tops. It is nicely furnished and has Cable TV, and free long distance calling. The Smart TV is equipped with Smart Network technology, allowing you to log into your account with Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, CinemaNow, etc., to stream movies. For those who need to stay in touch while on vacation, Kihei Bay Surf Studio #144 is equipped with complimentary high speed wireless service. The queen bed has a brand new pillow-top mattress and box spring. Coin-operated laundry room on-site.
Same day bookings and those arriving within 48 hours of making the reservation require a phone call to Rentals Maui for confirmation.
Bookings made within 7 days of arrival will require an ID check and screening prior to confirmation.
Longer stays require additional terms and conditions. This unit is only available to book for a maximum of a 30 night stay.
We work to maintain a very accurate website. At times furniture, decor or flooring may be upgraded and pictures are not updated yet. This would not change the seating, sleeping, function or views of the condo. Amenities are accurately and clearly listed for your convenience.
The Kihei Bay Surf is located in North Kihei across the street from the Whale Sanctuary and Kalepolepo Beach and an ancient Hawaiian fishpond. Each studio has a fully equipped kitchen, Cable TV and can sleep from 2-3 people. In addition there is a large pool, hot tub, tennis court, gas grills and common laundry areas for your use. Whale watch, windsurf, walk the beach and enjoy the most amazing sunsets imaginable. The Kihei Bay Surf is centrally located to shops, restaurants and is just minutes from the championship golf courses of Wailea and Makena. This is one of the best values in Kihei where guests return year after year. Sleeps 3.

The floors don’t seem to have ever been cleaned, our feet were gross and dirty as soon as we walked in. The amenities were extremely sparse for a 10 day stay, we didn’t get tissues and we only had two small rolls of toilet paper. Hardly any natural light and the room is loud, a fair amount of bugs. All of this would be acceptable for less money but it was over 200/night. And feels crazy to pay a high cleaning fee while being told to do all sorts of cleaning on checkout, when the place wasn’t clean when we arrived.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was very nice to be right across the street from a beach. The location was quiet and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes and utensils and supplies for cooking. There was space in the living area for us to set up a pack-and-play for our infant. The welcome packet included all the instructions we needed to find the pool, laundry room, dumpsters, and appropriate parking.

Great little condo

This was the second part of our stay within the same condo complex. Great location with a beach just steps away across the street. No complaints!

Reviewer Comments: Location worked well for us.Fairly easy drive to most of the sightseeing.Not much of a view from the lanai.Nice laundry but you need to use an app and cannot add the amount you want and I still have money in the app I can't get refunded.The AC worked fairly well and was quiet.

Over all, it was good

It was a good stay, its apartments so your dealing with neighbors who dont know how to mind their own buisness. The toilet wouldnt flush during our stay but the manager was good about sending someone right away. We couldnt opt out of having maintenance come while we were gone which we didnt like too much. It was very close to the beach and we could walk over. I would stay again.

December 2024 stay

Location was amazing, within walking distance to beach access. The bed was comfortable and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Just be careful leaving any food on the counter/stove, even in containers as we ended up with bugs in our bread (ants got through sealed with plastic wrap, stored on counter) and in our dinner (roaches in a skillet on the stove) within minutes of sitting down to eat.

Reviewer Comments: Cons: Room 144, couldn't really open the drapes all the way because it was in direct view of people at the pool. People were literally walking right next to our lanai. Had to kill a minimum of 5 to 10 cockroaches a day in the shower, bathroom, kitchen. Pros: Location was fine for being midway to everywhere on the island (18 min to Kahului, 4 min to Nalu's Grill, 3 min to Ululani's shave ice), room had all kinds of cookware for cooking though we didn't use it (got turned off by the roaches). The pool was always being used so seemed fun. We never went since we went to the Ocean for snorkeling.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I loved this little place. Had all the amenities we needed for cooking, hamming at the beach and relaxing. Plan to bring your own coffee, food/seasoning needs as that is limited to salt/pepper/sugar. But the kitchen was stocked with nearly all utensils needed. There were Tommy bahama chairs (quite worn but still great for a day lounging in the beach), and an umbrella for the beach (too windy for us to use) along with a cooler for snacks and drinksThe bed was small but comfy and the room was nicely decorated and easy to just chill in. It was nice to either hang out by the pool or relax in the hot tub. There were tennis rackets available, but we didn’t get a chance to play (bring tennis balls). The only reason I didn’t give full five stars across the board is there was a small roach issue (make sure all food is covered and put away), not extreme. And there was construction happening on the property, so it was loud at times and just a little cluttered. But nothing that would deter us from staying again. In fact, I would recommend this great little place to friends.

The kitchen was tidy and complete; the bed was comfy, and the beach across the street was adequate. We were close to Hope Chapel in Kihei and the beautiful Kalama Beach Park. The carwash area should be marked "no parking except for car washing." We had to park there our first night, and got admonished by a year-round resident. But our parking pass gave us access on the other nights. We loved it and will hope to stay there again.

Cute, affordable room in Kihei. Clean room across from a small beach. Our toddler enjoy spending time in the pool between activities. We really enjoyed our stay!

This property was great for just my boyfriend and I. We didn’t need a ton of space between the two of us plus you don’t go to Maui to stay in side so it was perfect for what we needed. We took out the trash every day to avoid pest issues as we saw in previous posts so that seemed to keep them away for us. So many little amenities were included which was a nice little surprise that wasn’t mentioned in the original post. We loved that they had chairs and a cooler for us to use during our stay and we made the most out of using them. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again. We loved the calmness of this side of the island and the fact that there was a beach just right across the street was great. It’s also a sea turtle resting spot so you are likely to see a sea turtle depending on when you go.
