My husband, 9 year old daughter and I stayed at Villa Ebony for 4 nights. The beautiful property and location made our trip to Santa Teresa perfect. Sam and his team went above and beyond to make our trip seamless from excellent local restaurant and activity recommendations to local insider tips. The house is well appointed and has an incredible view. Centrally located in Santa Teresa with easy access to shopping, restaurants and beach. Instant booking was also a bonus with this property as other houses in the area were difficult to confirm. A+ experience with Selva Resort

Absolutely Amazing!

The house is an architectural gem, we loved the layout, the views, and the infinity pool. It is a 7 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We love d Santa Teresa and all of the great restaurants. Sami, the owner was an amazing guy who ensured our stay was incredible. We will be back! Thank you Sam! The Wendt Family.

Comfortable house in good location, attentive service, great base for exploring/fun

We enjoyed staying here for our three day visit to Santa Teresa. The staff are very nice, work hard, and are almost invisible unless you need them. Everything went smoothly. The property manager was great, offered lots of good suggestions for restaurants and such. The walk up from the road will give you a great workout. The house is a little bit worn out now, but it met all our needs for our visit. We had a great time.

Outstanding, Exceptional Villa!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our visit to Santa Teresa! What really made the trip memorable was staying in this beautiful Villa. I thank our host, Sam Acer, for the beautiful accommodations, warm welcome, and exceeding assistance to provide recommendations on restaurants and activities. Staying at the villa is truly a magical experience. You get the sense of being in the outdoors while enjoying the cool and comfortable interior. AMAZING ocean views from virtually every room, gorgeous infinity pool, and a lovely wood deck to enjoy the sunsets. Ebony Villa is a MUST destination!

AMAZING HOUSE + PERFECT VIEW + LOVELY HOST = 10 out 10 Trip!

You know a place is amazing when you are racking your head to think of anything negative and all you can come up with is "somebody a few hundred yards away disturbed my nap once with a the sound of a hammer." Seriously though, Villa Ebony is perfection and the most amazing place to truly relax and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. From the moment we arrived, the owner Sami made us feel like family and took care of our every need & want. He was quick to offer suggestions of the surrounding area and also helped me arrange my surfboard & ATV rental. The house is even better than the photos. It's hard to capture with a camera how the house sits up in the jungle canopy, with huge views out into the ocean. Or how no matter what time of day, natural light floods through every room. The outdoor deck and pool were probably my favorite things about the house. Perfect for sipping cocktails while taking in the sunset. One comment with families with young kids...you'll probably need a car or ATV to navigate the steep driveway. A bit too much for a stroller and beach gear if you plan on walking exclusively to the beach or restaurants. The house is great for kids though, as the sliding glass doors fully close and block the pool from the living space. Overall, 10 out 10 experience and my family will definitely be back. THANK YOU SAMI!

Gorgeous home with breathtaking view!

The house was absolutely amazing! The thought and care that went into the design of this modern home is evident in all aspects. Conveniently located, yet secluded high above the center of town makes this the perfect getaway. Lounging poolside overlooking the vast pacific felt like a dream, and we can’t wait to return! The owner Sam and his wonderful staff led by his manager Amelia could not have been more gracious or attentive. Selva Resort is by far one of the nicest places we have ever stayed, and we highly recommend this property!

Beautiful sunset home on the hill

We had a great experience renting from our host, Sam and his team. They were generous with their time to help provide information or to book excursions. The house was spacious yet cozy with all the modern amenities; and, of course, the sunset views while lounging in the pool were the amazing. Best 2 week vacation we have ever had!

Our Fabulous stay in Villa Ebony, Santa Teresa!!

We couldn’t have picked a better choice to stay in Santa Teresa! Villa Ebony is entirely private, but perfectly located in the jungle above beautiful Santa Teresa town. The villa's unique location provides a breath-taking panoramic view and roar of the Pacific Ocean below, whilst an elevated view of exotic jungle nature of Costa Rica can be seen. The location is the best in Santa Teresa, and we easily walked to any of the LOVELY beaches and spectacular restaurants in the area. Exotic wildlife, such as iguanas, monkeys, etc, can be enjoyed from simply chilling out in almost any area of the open-view accommodation, or while swimming in the infinity pool. Exotic singing birds made the days blissful and brought us pure joy. Sam, the owner, and his staff are all beyond gracious and accommodating. They made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Sam and his staff were very helpful of the area and recommendations on yoga and surf classes, dining, horse-back riding, etc… The accommodation provides a spectacular open panoramic view with elevated rooms as we experienced a floating sensation above the Pacific Ocean. The porch deck is extremely huge and was a fantastic area to chill out and enjoy the view while swimming in the pool, practicing yoga, dancing, or simply relaxing to the sounds of exotic wildlife. The villa was luxurious and the AC was invaluable. We were amazed by the varied collection of worldwide modern art in the villa. The rooms were super clean and stocked with plentiful things we needed. The beds were superbly comfortable, and we enjoyed the spectacular jungle showers. The villa has a luxurious infinity pool, blending perfectly with the Pacific Ocean, and in which you enjoyed swimming while watching an iguana pass by. The kitchen and living room areas were perfect in size and more than fully equipped. We enjoyed having home-made cocktails and fresh juices while experiencing the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. The villa has a parking area for a car or ATV, which we highly needed in order to move around Santa Teresa. Many thanks for the best stay, we will definitely come back!!

An uncomfortable stay

Every single one of the guests was yelled at by the owner including myself on two of our 3 days of stay. I had one of his employees come up to tell me he is underpaid, yelled at and what not. I witnessed him making his employee climb to a window through a very unsafe path with a more than 4 meter drop if he made one wrong move. No harness and climbing through metal ledges. Another story that I heard from his employee was that he was forcing people to drink not properly treated water to test if it was ok. Eventually the employee ended up sick according to the story. Eventually, while staying there, I ended up being more aware than usual given the odd behavior from this person. I do not think he was mentally sane. I stayed at the place because I did not want to loose my money and or waste days of vacations. The only thing that was OK was the physical premises. Sadly according to customer service from VRBO, they only guarantee acquiring a place to stay.

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN UNDER AGE CLIENTS. ARE NOT MAKING ANY PREVIOUS CONTACT WITH OWNER. ARRIVED LATE . COMING TO BE STONED ALL DAY .PARTY AT THE VILLA EVERY NIGHT WITH DROGS AND REALLY HIGH MUSIC. AND CLOSING ROOM DOOR WHEN THE KEYS ARE LEFT INSIDE. BREAKING EVERY BASIC RULES OF THE VILLA. AND GETTING ANNOYED WHEN THE OWNER IS ASKING REPUTEDLY TO RESPECT THE VILLA AND THE NEIGHBOURS. NIGHTMARE. Thanks for staying up to the end without a blink of an eye .

Everything exceeded our expectations, the property truly is a jungle resort with an amazing ocean view. The property was a short walk to town/ beach which were wonderful. I highly recommend this property if you want to be away from the heat of the beach but still want the amazing view.

Luxury amenities, 5 star service, #Instaview

This is the second time we’ve rented from this host. Sam and his staff are wonderful – kind, trustworthy, detailed, and proud of both the great properties they manage and the amazing area they live in. They all want you to have a relaxing, worry-free, and luxury vacation and see to it by providing many personal touches. For example, when our five-year-old mentioned she was interested in the birds she saw near the house, one of the staff members brought her a guidebook so she could learn more about them. Sam is there at a moment’s notice if anything is amiss. Besides needing his help from time to time, we just thoroughly enjoy him and now call him a friend. The house and property are kept super clean with regular fresh laundered sheets and towels, regular cleaning of the pool, and the floors swept of any dust that might waft up from the driveway below. It was nice to come back to a tidy house every day. At the time we were there it is very hot, but with the doors and windows open at night, the house cools off nicely and sometimes we didn’t need the AC overnight at all. Although if you do, there is AC throughout all the rooms that cools the room down right away. The pool is so refreshing at the end of a hot day and we found that (besides the beach maybe) it's the best spot to watch the sun go down. Think the perfect Instagram post every time! It’s nice that it doesn’t contain heavy amounts of chemicals as well. Outside, there is also a great covered space to do yoga or other exercise alongside a hammock to rest on when you're done. Inside, the décor is very clean and modern, with comfy furniture, cozy beds and great water pressure in the showers. It’s outfitted well for cooking in as well, which we do a lot with a young child. Although the restaurants here are all amazing - coming from a foodie that lives in a foodie town! Getting up the very end of the driveway right below the house is tough without a quad, but you can park below the house and walk up a nice set of stairs, no problem. We walked into town many times with no issue and even our daughter could make it back up the hill. All the homes around here that have a great view are at the top of hills with steep roads. This one is actually one of the closest in with one of the easiest driveways. Don’t hesitate to book this home or visit this amazing area. We love it so much, we plan to return for a third time and dream of retiring in Santa Teresa.

The house is amazing. The decor is beautiful with great attention to details.

We had a great experience. The house is beautiful and the design is unique with great furniture, art and outdoor decor. The rooms are big, the beds extremely comfortable and the blankets and towels are high quality. The house is super clean and maintained so well. The cleaning staff spent so much time in the house everyday to make sure we are comfortable. The pool is amazing and it is certainly the best place to watch the sunrise and sunset in Santa Teresa. The house is located on the hill and has great big windows with wonderful sunlight all day. We enjoyed the fresh air and the super relaxed atmosphere. The owner Sam is so nice and helpful. He gave us a list of recommendations for restaurants ( they were all amazing) and activities. In addition, he made sure we have everything we need and get the best service from the different vendors in town. We had many requests, and Sam was able to help us with everything!!! I am very picky about hotels and houses and quality is important for us. Villa Ebony is THE BEST and we could not ask for a better experience.

Spectacular home and an incredible experience!

We can't say enough about what a beautiful home this is. We went to Santa Teresa to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday and could not have picked a more perfect location. The views from the terrace are incredible. The location was unique as you have the beautiful ocean views but you are also high in the trees surrounded by birds and butterflies. The house was immaculate and the staff was beyond accommodating. We found ourselves never wanting to leave the property and opted to stay in almost every evening enjoying the tranquility. We decided that we will definitely return before we had even left. One of the most spectacular vacation experiences of our lives!!

Gorgeous paradise - could be featured in Architectural Digest!

Beautiful home overlooking ocean. Stunning sunsets from infinity pool. Wonderful property management that quickly responded to requests for onsite massage services, canopy tour reservations, and general advice on local attractions. Definitely need a 4x4 to drive up driveway as House is perched up on a steep hill. Located near 2 beach entrances and lots of local shops. Beautiful home I wish I could call my own!

THE PARKING LOT IN THE LOWER PLANTEL IS EASY AND APPROACHABLE TO ANY KIND OF CARS. only is you wish to have have in the private parking of the villa you might need to use the four by four shift. Absolutely breathtaking. Peaceful, clean and private.

Once again I was lucky enough to stay at Sami’s place. Villa Ebony is a beautiful, tranquil, clean, safe place to stay alone or with friends/family. Every detail is stunning. The infinity pool overlooks the ocean with the most breathtaking sunsets imaginable. The host, Sami is gracious and accommodating beyond expectation. Absolutely nothing negative to say. I highly recommend it.

Most beautiful villa ever, with a stunning ocean view

Brand new villa with a overall perfect concept surrounded by nature. This is the perfect place to stay. We did not even imaging a place like this. So much love for every detail. Creacy infinity pool with a amazing view to the ocean. The sunset is a dream. For us it was heaven on earth. The owner is a very nice and lovely person and help you out with ererything you need. We recommend this place and hope to come back.
