Barwaller is a cozy townhome tucked away by the established woodlands of the Yonahlossee Resort Community, with post and beam construction and a clean, rustic vibe.

This townhome is perfect for those seeking a peaceful, wooded getaway centrally located in the High Country. Downtown Boone and Blowing Rock are just 15 minutes away. The home has hot water on demand from a tankless water heater fed from a mountain spring. Amenities include wifi, 4 Smart TVs to stream your accounts, a secluded covered porch with rocking chairs, and proximity to the Yonohlossee picnic area and playground. Please note there are exterior security cameras at the front and back doors.

*Allows pets with an additional fee.

**** There is parking up the hill behind the property, and additional parking is down the hill on the side. That space will be marked off for guest use.****

The property management company was very timely with messages. 1. Upon arrival several tables in the living were not cleaned/wiped down, they were sticky and gross. 2. Previous tenants had a dog to which there was dog hair on the carpet and the leather couch looked as if it was never cleaned with handfuls of dog hair and food crumbs. My son found several Easter eggs under the couches. 3.The dishwasher was full of old moldy dishes, neither previous guests nor cleaners started it or put detergent in it.Some cleaning stuff was provided but we luckily bought our own because we had to clean items there.

Beautiful place, very comfortable and quiet. Just loved it. We discovered a spot below the townhouse where there used to be a girls camp, it was so nice down there next to a creek. From our deck we could hear the water flowing to the creek and saw a sweet family of deer each morning and evening.

It was cozy & welcoming. You can tell its been loved for many years. The setting and layout are perfect for privacy. One suggestion is that owners should freshen it up either with some new furnishings and/or a deep cleaning. All in all we enjoyed very much.

Lovely, but needs a thorough clean

This condo is just beautiful, spacious, and comfotlrtable. Reservation, check in, and access was great. Overall a great experience, but.. really needs a thorough clean. Dusty, grime under kitchen cabinets. Bathrooms were well done and clean, beds were comfortable. Staff was accessible.

Spacious, comfy and awesome location!

I went to school in Boone and have gone back for many years as our daughter just graduated, and I was shocked when we drove up to this community because I never knew it existed. It's an incredible location just outside of Boone where you get away from the hustle and bustle and just take in the peaceful mountain setting. Then it's a quick ride to Blowing Rock and Banner Elk to enjoy everything the area had to offer. We spent a snowy weekend here and the house was really cozy. We had plenty of room to spread out, but we spent a lot of quality time in front of the fireplace or around the table for meals. Two of the bedrooms are massive, and then there's a big loft space you can't really make out in the pictures. The house had everything we needed and even lots of kitchen stuff like spices and what not from previous stays. My only complaint is that the house had a bit of dust and cobwebs, there were old dishes left in the dishwasher and it seems like the vacuum may not work well as their were balls of stuff around. It was not a deal breaker and we'd stay here again but also not what you expect when spending that kind of money. The surroundings were really nice with a stream that you can hear running just off the porch. We sat outside and enjoyed our coffee watching several deer cross through one morning. I look forward to visiting again in the summer when the rhododendron are blooming and more of the community is open.

Lawsuit waiting to happen due to hazardous condition

I will start by stating this cabin is unsafe . Initially check in process did not define in any emails we were one of two units nor specify which one, other than name which cannot be read in the dark. Immediately entering the cabin we were surprised at amount of personal belongings there were. There is no room in living area for renters things because of all the clutter. I decided to cook for family and friends that night. I opened the dishwasher only to find dirty dishes, pots, pans, mugs and silverware. This was evident due to actual food left on the dishes. So I reran the washer only to find nothing was any cleaner. I had to wash other strangers dishes and food off what we were going to use. Given there is a little virus called Covid, this is unacceptable and put us all at risk. Next I opened kitchen drawers, oven mittens had actual egg on them. Coffee mugs in cabinets had actual dried coffee on them. Needless to say we didn’t feel comfortable in the kitchen anymore. I chose the upstairs bedroom. Basically I slept on a piece of wood with a sheet on it. Never encountered anything like that before. The next day the carbon monoxide detector starts chirping. We are not sure if it was detecting carbon monoxide or needs battery. No batteries were around but while I was searching I find a CO detector unplugged sitting on a living room table. Not sure if they understand that will work better plugged in. So now I’m worried my family and I will slowly die in our sleep due to fumes so we try opening some doors to vent the place. When I sat down for dinner ( and let me preface this by saying I am a petite thin female), my chair falls apart. Pieces are put back for show but the chair is not working and they clearly are aware of this hazard. My friend took the master bedroom. When she tried turning lamp on and off, paint would disintegrate and fall to the floor. Again this is a hazard for our puppies and potentially a toddler who would eat it on the ground. On the last day I was the only one to shower and after using the shower for 5 minutes the water turned frigidly cold. I was forced to rinse with ice water and dry with towel that was basically like a piece of cardboard. We packed up our trash and tried to put in receptacles as asked but guess what?? There were no receptacles! When I spoke with neighbor she said nobody has receptacles and the trash has to be driven to an area. She also said no maid cleaned our unit that day. Thank you for the thorough comments. Each of your points were inspected post your departure and where existing where rectified. The home was cleaned and inspected prior to your arrival. Our apologies for anything left amiss. Please know that we invest heavily in home preparation and preventative maintenance. Your experience is directly in contradiction to that. The duplex is nicely surrounded by trees and privacy so it feels private. The house is warm and comfortable. The beds are comfortable but the pillows are not. The kitchen is well stocked and roomy. Overall a great stay.

Enjoyable

The property was nice and suited our needs. It was insanely hard to find at night; needs more specific directions. Also could not find the dumpster. House notes says “down by the inn.” Needs to be more specific!

Fun in the snow

We brought our kids up for a snowy weekend. The beds were all comfy, and the place was clean. We loved the wooded park area behind the house. We would have liked to have had the warning about the steep road and driveway being dangerous in the snow before making our reservation (it wasn’t stated in the description or reviews). But we understand that is normal for the area.

Winter wonderland

Went to school at ASU in the nineties and always loved this side of town. Secluded, private and very cozy. We were lucky to have 7 inches of snow to make our stay a little more of a wonderland.

It was a great getaway weekend. Nice, but older place to stay. Remote controls were a little tricky to use. Really close to Boone and Blowing Rock. Would definitely go back.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE

I chose Carolina cabins and paid the price you asked expecting to get a great vacation experience but when I arrived and found the main entrance of the cabin totally blocked with yellow caution tape because several boards in front of the main door were loosen I was really dissapointed and couldn't believe you put this property on the market without being ready because it presented a serious liability and safety issue. I couldn't even move my luggage inside thru there. On top of that this situation was not fixed for three nights, which were half of the nights I was staying. Also the cleaning was not done well specially the master bathroom where there were stains on the carpets and a dirty toilet also the kitchen was not cleaned properly . In Covid times when cleaning should be a top priority this is unaceptable. I had to redo the cleaning on my arrival night until midnight to feel more comfortable. I had to be on top of the situation calling and sending emails to your office every day to get all this fixed, what type of vacation is this? But the worst part was to see that for all this situation you offered a $150 refund and this show how little is the value of the safety, cleaning and customer satisfaction for your company. I was already charged $150 for the cleaning that was not done, so the minimum that was fair to do is to refund 150 for the cleaning plus at least 20% of the amount paid for rent to compensate for all that happened. Hopefully after this survey you will reconsider and offer an additional refund, which would be the fair thing to do. I already sent all the pictures to your office. Stay at Barwaller

We stayed at Barwaller the last two weeks of July. Cutting to the chase, the property was not ready for rental. At the very first we were greeted by dirt and cobwebs around the entryway. We then discovered layers of dust on the kitchen appliances and window sill (plus cobwebs). The owners' personal possessions were in evidence everywhere. You might expect this to a reasonable degree but we found underwear in the BRm chest of drawers. Clothing and shoes (at eye level ) greeted you upon opening the MBr closet. The sheets on the master bed were literally shredding on the edges. Much of the horizontal trim and baseboards had thick dust. At least the bathrooms were properly cleaned - the master was nicely renovated. Management needs to keep a closer eye on their rentals!

we loved the property. so cute and comfy. We did have a few issues that i can mention...the downstairs master shower is not sealed the entire way up (between glass and wall) and the hand held shower head flipped around and got water all over the floor. Also, we emailed and called to get sheets for the upstairs pull out sofa bed and no one ever came with queen sheets even after they said they would. We finally found some king sheets and tried to make it work.

Our stay at Barwaller this past weekend is the second time we have rented through Carolina Cabin Rentals. This location is isolated, but convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock and all surrounding attractions. Barwaller is attractive, comfortable and extremely well equipped. If circumstances allow, we hope to rent it again next winter. My only negative comment would be the directions supplied. Don't understand why we were directed to drive from Boone to Blowing Rock to drive back up the mountain from the south, when accessing the location from Boone is shorter and easier by using Poplar Grove Road from Highway 105 in Boone.
